It's hard to find a trusted auto place these days, Smitty's Automotive Service had been my choice of auto-store for a couple months now and would always be my place to go for my vehicles. Their honesty and good work had never failed me. As a student I wasn't able to afford too much, I used to owe an aged vehicle from 2000 and had been charged outrageously from other stores in the past, I'm glad I settled with Smitty's Automotive :) .

I came in because I needed to get my oil changed before driving to Columbus the next day. They changed it and discovered that my back tire was damaged and was at severe risk of popping. Not only did they replace them for me but they managed to do it before I had to leave the day after. Very thankful for them catching it and replacing them beforehand. Highly recommend

2024 Edit: Neither Daryl nor Rick still works at this location. I'm told Ryan does, but when I tried to call I ended up in a AAA hold queue. After the queue I got to the shop, at least. Made an appointment for next week, so I'll report back then! I've been coming here for years. Rick and Darryl have always been honest with me and gave me options when I had them.

I broke down near this place and AAA towed my 2002 Avalanche there and I had them check it out I live over an hour away and this was early in the morning. I got a call the next day in the afternoon with the bad news my fuel pump was shot and also the straps and they quoted this at $1350.00 with no choice I had the work done. I then called a few repair shops near me and asked how much such a repair would be and both places that did not know me quoted it at between $750 to $850 which is quite a bit cheaper than I had to pay here. Obviously, I am not happy one bit and it's coming up on Christmas. One more pet peeve I have with AAA. I drive an older car and we have 3 in our household, and I used to get the gold card now everyone in your household has to have the same one what a sham I used to just get it for myself but not anymore.

So where do I start. I went to the Holland Sylvania location to get my oil changed back on May 14, 2024. The mechanic told me I need a new battery. I said hmmm really it's only a little over a year old. Ok then he moves on and told me I need rear brakes, rotors etc. I took my vehicle to my own mechanic and guess what I don't need rear brakes or rotors. I will not be doing business there anymore. Women beware..Don't do business there you will be lied to and ripped off.

I was referred to AAA by the place I purchased my car from as this being a place they liked working with. I was told to call and ask for Rick. He answered the phone and greeted me warmly. He was upfront with me about the time frame that he would be able to look at my car but they ended up getting to it sooner since they allowed me to drop it off early. My expectations were exceeded and I will definitely be referring family and friends here.

I went here to get my oil changed as they had posted a "sale" price on their marquee that ended on September 30th. After waiting for over an hour, ( normal oil change takes less than 1/2 hour), I enquired what was taking so long. The desk jockey, Bjion said they were not finished yet with the car's inspection. I said to him I came in for an oil change only. He then informed me that they always have to do an inspection. I then told him a reputable shop would have made this known to the customer. Finally after nearly 2 hours I got my vehicle back. This is totally unacceptable and a very shady practice. I would stay far away from these sheisters! Worst service ever.

The gentleman that assisted us was very nice and informative. He was eager to assist us with jumping our battery and with anything else we made need. The only complaint that I have is that we were 2.1 miles from the AAA location that I contacted , and dispatch quoted us an 1.5 hr wait until someone could be to our location !?! I understand that they don't physically have wreckers available at their location but 😳 seriously!!! And hour and a half!?! Other than that, I have NO complaints!!!!! Thanks so much AAA!

I took my vehicle in to have a simple oil change and tire rotation. When they were done, they emailed and showed me the report. They said I had dirty power steering fluid and it needed replaced. Then they told me my strut was leaking and I needed new struts. I told the man at the desk I will be taking it to my mechanic in Maumee. He said that was fine. I had my mechanic check everything and he told me they were trying to up sell you. First of all my power steering was super clean and red like it was supposed to be. Then he checked struts and not leaking at all. AAA said my sway bar was bent that was another thing they tried to up sell me on. You have just lost my business as well as being a member. I will be filing a complaint with your corporate office as well. Not very happy. Beware of this place. They are taking advantage of the consumer. NEVER AGAIN. Still waiting for a call from management. No manager has ever called me to resolve the matter. PATHETIC!!!

In my experience, working with the manager, Ryan, has been a positive and stress-free experience. He is a professional who maintains a down-to-earth and helpful attitude, making what can be a daunting task much easier. took my car for only an inspection and they gave me my car back with a messed up bumper that shows they used duct tape to hold it together bc there was tape residue on left side of my bumper and they also left their duct tape in the back seat of my car. they broke off my heat shield and i didn’t notice til i was driving and heard scraping noises on the ground. i called to get it fixed. took them a couple days said they ordered me a brand new heat shield but when i inspected it after picking it up they used zip ties and duct tape to hold up the “brand new” heat shield they gave me but it still looks severely damaged. they also decided to duct tape the other side of my bumper bc now the right side has tape residue on it. will never ever recommend this place to anyone.

This review is long overdue. I dropped off my car to have the brakes checked at a different local repair shop. Long story long, I wasn't available when they called and my husband approved a new brake booster forgetting that we had just had it replaced at AAA six months ago. I got off work and found out that we had spent the money to replace a part that was under warranty. I'll let the other place know that I was upset and why. So they worked very hard to get together with AAA and got the supplier to approve the part AND labor and they refunded my money. It couldn't have been better timed for us financially to have this grace. It wasn't a mistake on their part, it was a mistake on ours, but they worked really hard to help us out. Above and beyond. 5 stars!! As an aside, we've been bringing our vehicles here for a decade.And I trust everybody that works at triple a. We've had some hardships, and we've had to shop around for best prices, but not because of customer service. Every single person that works at triple, a seems to remember us and our cars.Every time we come, I feel like they protect our interests and they are honest. I just love these guys!
