My daughter and I were on our first road trip to Maine one Friday afternoon when we hit some traffic around Nanuet and came to a sudden stop. When it was time to push on the gas to go my car hardly moved. Fast forward after getting pushed off the highway we learned it was my transmission. So I googled transmission repair and found this super fabulous AAMCO, top rated in White Plains. I called talked to Mark and we mastered a plan to get my car to the shop. He truly helped me understand the entire process , everything from diagnostics, repairs to financing. I ask a lot of question, he was patient, knowledgeable, respectful and just an all around professional. All of our dealings were over the phone, he has superior customer service. I was able to pick up my car about a week later and had the pleasure of meeting Mark ,Jeff (the owner) and Jarrett. I love these guys!!! Wish I had you guys in New Jersey!!! Repairs: My 2013 Nissan Murano runs better now than it has in years. I believe I can actually give this car to my kid soon with a 3 year warranty on the transmission!!! P.S. Jarret & Jeff are wonderful people! 10/10 customer service and we didn't actually get our vehicle serviced here (but definitely will when we need to!!) My boyfriend and I were stranded on the side of the road with his pick up truck and a 35foot RV trailer. We called and Jeff and Jarret could not have been more helpful! They were offering any and all ideas to help us out however they could. Jarrett was ready to come help move the trailer with his own vehicle! Jarrett gave the idea to call the dealership to see if the truck was covered under warranty and thankfully it is! AAA came to tow the pickup truck and my bf's dad came to tow us with the trailer. A big thank you to Jeff & Jarrett, they were offering a helping hand and we will never this experience! There still are some good people in this world!

Had my transmission rebuild in Merced, CA it cost me $2400 and less than a year my transmission started slipping again by me living in Chowchilla and going to Merced to find out ammco there has gone out of business. Call corporate office just to be told I'm out of warranty to anyone who is looking to get transmission work done stay away from Ammco unless you want to be ripped off

I Recently had a brand new transmission put in my Ford F150. Jeff and the aamco crew were just wonderful. I'm always stressed when I have to go to an auto mechanic for my truck my husband used to always take care of everything for me with cars. Being a widow it has been hard to find somebody I trust. Jeff and his son made me feel very comfortable explaining everything that they were going to do with my truck. It was the best experience and I now have a great new mechanic.

I came in very close to closing time and very panicked and crying because of an accident on the highway that sent a rock through my oil pan and engine but Mark helped me through the process and was very kind, honestly an amazing experience for me, I was very paranoid of auto shops but Mark showed me nothing but honesty and kindness. ​Warning: Predatory pricing and aggressive, unprofessional conduct. ​I had my vehicle brought here after a breakdown and was quoted nearly $1,700 for a water pump and belt—roughly double the fair market rate. They also tried to charge full individual labor for every single part, even though they are all removed at the same time. ​When I refused the overpriced repair and asked for my keys to have the car towed to another shop, the staff initially refused to release them. They claimed they couldn't give me my keys because the car was "not drivable," despite my tow truck being on its way. It wasn't until I threatened to call the police that they finally handed over my keys. ​In New York, it is illegal for a shop to hold your vehicle hostage like this. This was a blatant attempt at intimidation to force me into a repair I didn't want. If you are from out of town, stay far away from this location

I recently moved to White Plains and was looking for a reliable mechanic. After repeated issues with Mavis, I decided to try AAMCO and I’m so glad I did. Mark and Jarrett were great. I called thinking my axle was the problem, and Mark offered to diagnose the issue for free. I brought my car in the next morning, and they had it back to me by lunchtime. Thankfully it wasn’t the issue I feared, but Mark discovered my front tire was loose, something a previous shop failed to tighten. He was professional, honest, and didn’t charge me for simply tightening the bolts. If you’re looking for knowledgeable and trustworthy mechanics, this is the place to go!
