Went in after going to AutoZone on Kimball where I got no help and was treated rudely. Advanced got me my battery quickly and was super helpful in finding the right one. They were very friendly as well. Will be back and should have come here first.

First time here. Was greeted warmly by an associate as soon as i entered the store. Asked for a particular fluid type for my van. Was quickly shown where it was . In and out in 15 minutes. Perfect.

DON'T BUY BATTERIES HERE!! First battery they sold me lasted 8 months the second lasted 7. When the second replacement failed as well I asked for a refund. They wouldn't issue it. Also each time each battery failed their policy is to try to trickle charge it back to life (4+ hours) before giving you a replacing it. Just go to Walmart every battery I've had under warranty they swapped it right there.

would not recommend coming to this location. came from out of town for a job and bought a part for my truck at another location across town. found a better price online and decided to return it. was close to this location so i went here. JEREMY the guy helping me pulled open my box and looked at it them said he can’t return it cuz its open. He was the first to open it, then said it was like that. then called the manager over and she wouldn’t listen and said she can’t return it either. her name was JENNY. then said the part was on the not returnable list. i pulled it up and it was not. then they went on saying they won’t return it because people like to buy stuff at other locations and return at theirs. and it causes a problem for them. advanced offers a 45 day return policy at any location. WORST customer service ever. those folks need a job that doesn’t deal with people. i’d recommend a stay at home job. Had to drive across town back to the other location to return it. there was another lady that was backing them up but i didn’t ask her name. PLEASE SEND THESE EMPLOYEES FOR CUSTOMER SEVICE TRAINING OR LET THEM GO.

This store is consistently a waste of time. The employees are some of the rudest I’ve dealt with — not just once, but every time I’ve been here. What’s worse is that their website will show items as “in stock,” but when you show up, they don’t have them. No apology, no effort to help — just attitude. It’s clearly a pattern at this location. Save yourself the frustration and go literally anywhere else

I was on a road trip and having some problems with my vehicle. I noticed this place had the part that I was looking for in stock. I stopped by to pick up the part, and before I bought it I asked about their return policy. They said they usually don't allow returns on electrical items once it leaves the store, but based on my situation the woman behind the counter, I believe her name was Jennifer, said she would make an exception in my case because I was from out of town. I inquired about the rental of tools to use, and she went and got a set of tools for me and offered for me to use them (I think for free!) I declined the offer at the moment and said let me see if I need them first. When I went and tried to repair my vehicle, I found out that it was too difficult of a repair for me to do, so I went back in the store and was able to return the part that I had bought. They had given me great customer service and had gone out of their way to help me out, and they even let me use their employee bathroom. For these reasons I highly recommend this store, and if I am passing through Waterloo again and I need Auto parts I definitely will be shopping there.

I went in looking for a bulb because one of my front headlights was out. I pull into the parking lot and there’s an employee helping some other people. I get out of my car, and the lady says in a shitty tone “I’ll help you as soon as I’m done with this”. I’m in the store and the whole time I’m in there she’s just mean mugging me. I go to ask for help and I don’t know a lot about cars so I’m asking questions on what I need, and she’s no help. She starts to bring up prices and says this bulb is $150 and says “if you can afford that”. She tells me to go check my car, and I’m still unsure what I’m looking for and she’s just watching me through the glass. I had enough of looking around on my hood without no help and left. “If I can afford it” is what stuck with me and the no helping part. I will never come back to this location. If you’re reading this rude lady, I can afford it and I’ll buy it somewhere else, I really appreciate the “help” though.

Wow why would some business ask all your personal information just to sell a tiny little $6 spark plug,for a weed eater. I asked the master cashier why? The reply was, "the computer is telling me to." Sorry advance Auto parts in Waterloo Iowa I will not be coming back into that store. Just for $6 spark plug ! They just lost $150 power steering hose sale!

Went in to get a reading on my check engine light and staff were very rude. Woman had an attitude after i asked her what i needed done and i told her never mind since she is acting like that. She put the reader back and proceeded back to the front where i was still standing there to ask help from the guy. She yells yes or no. After saying i was waiting for him, he says im not going to help if your going to treat her like that. They obviously shouldnt be working in customer service and will be contacting corporate

This was my first visit to the Waterloo Advance Auto Parts in a long while. They had a rear wiper blade for the Toyota van I was working on in the Trico brand. I was hoping to find a Bosch wiper blade. Staff was friendly and helpful.
