These guys are great! I was driving through Baton Rouge when my Infiniti suddenly started making a weird noise. A quick Google search brought me to Carmergency. I explained to the owner Tim that I was from out of town and needed to get home by 2pm for another meeting so I left my car with him, authorized all diagnostics/repairs, and took an Uber to my destination. By the time I was finished with my meeting, they were able to figure out the problem (a cap was accidentally left open by my trusted local mechanic), fixed it, and sent me on my way. Wonderful customer service - I wish we had a Carmergency in New Orleans! Thanks Tim!

I brought my 2005 Ford Freestyle in for maintenance. Tim fixed the car up into better shape than I expected. He called me 1/2 way through telling me that I DIDN'T need to replace the power steering pump, but just a part on it. After the repairs were done, he showed me all the old parts and explained to me what was broken and why they needed to be replaced. Definitely a shop that "goes the extra mile". Any mechanic that will call to tell you that he can SAVE you money is a good one. Mechanics can be crooked in this day and age but, Tim felt like an old family friend who treated me with respect and gave me a fair price. In the future, I will be using Carmergency for any issues I have.

After a freak accident on the road that left our radiator, condenser and more damaged. Tim was extremely accommodating very late at night and was able to get us on the road the very next day. He is very honest, polite and fair. He even went above and beyond and put in windshield fluid etc for us. If you are in the area and need car help, rest assured you are receiving TOP SERVICE!

I have used this shop for several years now and have been treated as a good friend as well as a customer. The technicians answer all my questions so that I understand what needs to be done and how much it will cost before any work is done. All work has been done well and in a timely manner. I have even purchased used cars that were never picked up by the previous owner. I would recommend this shop to anyone whether they have a newer car or an old one that needs obsolete parts.

Tim Matthews is one of the most knowledgable and honest mechanics I know. He can fix almost anything!! My old truck had a crank no start problem and I suspected it was a spark issue. I have a rather complex vehicle with an engine swap that most shops around Baton Rouge said they wouldn’t even work on. Carmergency diagnosed it as a bad opti-spark distributor and did a great job on the replacement of it. I typically like to work on my cars myself but the staff was incredibly knowledgeable and fair on their price for the work they performed. Only complaint I had was the car was accelerating a little funny after I picked it up and it turns out two of the spark plug wires going to the distributor were out of position for the firing order, super common mistake and it only took a few minutes to swap them back. Other than that little hick up they did a great job and the truck runs awesome now. Would highly recommend this shop, thanks for getting me back on the road Carmergency!

2017: Not sure what's going on in that shop. I know nothing about cars, so I went to find out about a noise my car was making. I was quoted $600 to replace my front and rear rotors and brake pads. I thought this price was steep, so I decided to call around. I called several shops, who were surprised that I needed both my front and rear rotors changed. One man told me he'd been in the industry for 21 years, and had very rarely seen such a case. Another said it was more likely that I only needed the front ones replaced. With that, I decided to get a second opinion. When I did, I was told I didn't need my rear or front rotors replaced - just new brake pads. I don't know if this was blatant dishonesty, mistake, or if reasonable minds can vary on rotor replacement. Whatever the case, I will not be back, and certainly wouldn't recommend it. UPDATE 9/9/18: The shop, in their reply, requested I reconsider my review. Its been over a year, and I never got the rotors replaced - the car is still working just fine. Because I didn't need new rotors, and they told me I was in desperate need of them, I conclude they were blatantly dishonest and they were trying to scam me. UPDATE 7/30/2019: It's been 2 years since this shop told me I needed new rotors. I still haven't gotten any and my car is runs GREAT... I might keep updating this every year until I actually need new rotors. This shop is a disgrace!!! UPDATE 8/21/2020: It’s been 3 years since this shop told me I was in desperate need of $600 rotors. I still haven’t got any and my car runs great. UPDATE: 4/26/2022: It’s been 5 years since a mechanic at this shop told me I was in desperate need of $600 rotors. I still haven’t got any. The rotors are still fine.

I can't recommend Tim and his shop enough. I've brought my vehicle to him several times over the last 6 years and he's done phenomenal work every time. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable, but he's a great guy who cares for all his customers. He doesn't nickel and dime and won't beat around the bush to add on a bunch of fake issues to make extra money off of you like most big dealerships do. He's been able to diagnose every problem that's come up, even the more complicated issues, and has gotten it fixed quickly.

My dad and I have been bringing our cars here for years. I recently had to bring my car in and tim and his staff were as always super efficient and made sure i was taken care of. Tim the owner is super knowledgeable and always tries to work with you. He's a dying breed. If you need your car fixed and need a trustworthy mechanic this is the place.
