I brought my vehicle in for a paint repair in September and my vehicle was returned me to with a messy interior and damaged. Paint overspray was all over my back window and at pick up when I asked about it, Peter took my vehicle, took a razor blade to the window, and scratched the window and surrounding trim. When I pointed that out, he said “well I cleaned the bird poop off your car”. After trying to get hold of my service advisor or the manager for 3 days, someone finally reached out. There was also a paint chip on a panel they had just repainted. They manager, Jackie, was reassuring and had me bring the car back to get the paint redone on that panel, a new window, and new window trim at no extra cost. When I picked up the vehicle the second time, I began to notice other issues. My back tailgate and bumper were completely miss aligned causing my tailgate to stick out, the rear taillight had water condensation in it and a crack, there was paint overspray on the infotainment system on the interior of my car, and trim pieces were bent out of place and not sitting right. When I brought the car back almost a month ago now to get all of this looked at, they ordered me a new tail light, said the bumper and tailgate couldn’t be fixed and I would have to pay them to add spacers, and pointed at gaps on other parts of my vehicle that have been there since it was purchased. It’s been over a month now and I haven’t heard from anyone regarding when my taillight will be in or how they plan to remedy the rest of the situation. I am tired of calling and being told someone will call me back but never does, emailing with no response, bringing my car in just for it to have more damage caused to it, and having all of my issues be deflected. DO NOT GO TO AUTONATION COLLISION. My less than a year old car was ruined and no one seems to care.

I don’t take writing negative reviews lightly as I know they can be detrimental to a business, so if I ever feel a potential negative review may be warranted I try to take a couple weeks to process to ensure the sentiment is not purely heat-of-the-moment emotion. Well it has been a little over 3 weeks since I picked up my car, and I can still confidently say working with Autonation collision center was the worst car experience of my life. A 5 day repair took over 2 months due to their disorganization (they were “waiting for the supplement to be approved” for months when in reality it had been approved the literal day after submission, but it had been lost in their email/system), their collision director was unable to be contacted due to personal happenings but did not have a stand-in or someone to defer these responsibilities to (therefore there was no one there with the authority to rectify their mistake: no offer of a discount, no rental car, etc.), and lastly, my car’s fuel economy was absolutely destroyed from the moment I picked it up. My Toyota RAV4 Hybrid went from averaging 36 mph, to now getting 21….. a drop of 15 mpg. When I called Autonation to express my concerns over the drastic drop in mileage, they said there was nothing they could do since they didn’t touch the engine and it was probably just “the increase in ethanol lately” and said to call the service center which stated it would be $170 simply just to look at it. In summary, Autonation’s mishap caused thousands of dollars in Uber expenses and lost productivity, all while failing to take any responsibility for their disorganization and systemic failings, as a result of this experience and their lack of customer service, I would never recommend Autonation Collision Center to anyone.

Extremely frustrating experience with AutoNation Ford Collision Center in St. Petersburg. They had my car for months, and when I went to pick it up it wasn’t ready—covered in marks, a gaping hole in one tire and the tank was empty. Now I’m being billed for a Hertz rental I needed because of the tire issue, and no one responds to my calls or emails. Very disappointed.

First I would love to start out by saying thank you to Micheal and Christopher they were very professional and attentive in letting me know every step of the way with my car. The staff did a wonderful job with my car it looks brand new, I fell in love with my car all over again thanks to them. Find another auto body shop. I figured I would use them since I bought several vehicles form autonation. However, this was the worst auto body experience I have ever had. It had nothing to do with part delays, it was incompetence and people just not doing there job. Replacing a rear bumper should take no more than 3 days. I was without my car for 2 months. The excuses kept changing. They need to remove the whole lot of them and start fresh. I highly DO NOT recommend.

It has been over two months since I took my car to AutoNation for body work and it is still not complete. I don't mind the delay so much but the lack of communication is very upsetting. They don't answer my text messages or my phone calls. My insurance company says they will investigate.

I’m a bit frustrated with my experience at this collision center. My situation started with a small dent in my bumper from hitting my garage. Even though it was minor, I wanted to have it fixed, and I was recommended by my dealership to come here. My replacement part came in on a Thursday, but since I need my car for work (driving house to house), I was told if I dropped it off Thursday, I likely wouldn’t get it back until the middle of the following week. If I dropped it off Monday, I’d have it by Wednesday. I chose Monday so I would be without my car fewer days. Unfortunately, that timeline was not accurate. By Wednesday, I had not heard anything, so I called Thursday morning for an update. I was told nothing had been done yet, but they would finish by the end of Thursday or Friday. On Friday, I got a call saying they still hadn’t started. I was very frustrated because my car was perfectly drivable with just a small dent, yet it sat there all week untouched. After expressing my concerns, I was directed to the manager. Only after speaking with him was the work completed—but not until the following week, a full week after I was promised. Overall, it was a very frustrating experience. I think it’s important to be honest and upfront with customers. If I had been told the real timeline from the start, I could have planned better. I also question why a bumper replacement should take a week and a half. Transparency and timeliness would have made this experience much better.

On a recommendation from my brother-in-law, I brought my car into AutoNation for an estimate on December 7, 2024. Josh went over every item and I was impressed that the repair techs would do such quality work. I told him I was paying for everything out of pocket. On Monday Dec 9th, I made a deposit so that parts could be ordered. Josh called on Thursday the 12th to say that the parts had come in, but not to bring my car in until Monday because they don't work weekends and he didn't want me to have to pay an extra 2 days of rental. I very much appreciated his thoughtfulness. I dropped off my car after work on the 16th. On the 18th, Josh called to say that when they disassembled my car, they found additional damage. I approved the extra charge. Throughout the process, I received regular phone and email status updates. Josh called to say I could pick up my car on the Saturday before my first full week of work for 2025. He cautioned that when they were removing the tape, some paint flaked off. Also, there was a problem with the cover that’s over the wheel. The part needs to be reordered and reinstalled. It’s not “done” yet but I really needed my car for work. Josh said they would finish taking care of everything soon at no additional charge, and all the work has a lifetime guarantee. When I picked up my car, I was pleased at how good it looked. Josh and the AutoNation team really came through for me and fixed my car in a timely manner, which saved me on rental car costs. Given that it was over the busy holiday season, they really went above and beyond.

Brought my car to AutoNation Collision twice within a two month period. The first time they did an excellent job at a fair price. The second time the wanted to charge $4600 for a job that was quoted by another shop that I had used previously and trusted to do an excellent job, for $800. No one at AutoNation, including the General Manager of the dealership nor the manager of the Collision Department, could explain the difference in quotes. They also did not offer any apology for their outrageous quote. I think that AutoNation was simply trying to rip off me and my insurance company.

I've lived in 3 states in the South in my 47 years and have personally had about 10 vehicles. I can honestly say that I have never had a worst customer experience than I recently had both the Collision Center as well as their main dealership Auto Nation Ford. They took 3 1/2 months to do repairs and body work from a non-injury collision that was the other driver's fault. When I picked up my vehicle after 3 1/2 months, the vehicle had multiple other issues. Insurance was 7 weeks of the delay and the collision center then took 6 1/2 weeks. My sales rep was Ryan and it turned out he managed a terrible unfinished project and gave false information all along. Not all of the work was repaired and the vehicle felt like it was wrecked when I picked it up after 3 1/2 months. They didn't fully fix the repairs or do warranty work correctly multiple times. I was a new customer who removed here from out of state and they took it as there way to attack my vehicle, my temporary occupation and were rude, unprofessional, uncaring and terrible to work with. I have bought vehicles from multiple dealerships and this place is a total joke. I called there GM Bruce three times and he never returned my call. I called their manager Kevin 4 times before getting one returned call and then they attacked the vehicle. Their service advisor Lincoln in ford service who did the additional add on work laughed when I returned with the vehicle damaged from their damage. He is completely unprofessional. They will add on work to your estimate after they start so get ready. And they like to make the customer pay for the additional work and not the insurance. Their body shop is a complete joke and does terrible terrible work.
