Great place to take your car and get it back in a timely fashion and a price that doesn't give it to you in the tailpipe.

2 great mechanics, I won't go anywhere else. Honesty and reasonable prices go along why these days and you can get both here. I recommend Bettendorf Friendly Auto to anyone.

Wow! Fixed our car $150 cheaper than 2 other quotes. Quality service, refreshing to find an auto technician who can actually fix something rather than just replace parts. Very impressive.

Had some issues with my engine and thermostat that I couldn't diagnose myself, so I brought it in to get looked at. They found the problem for both issues quickly and replaced the needed parts at a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Like a few of the others who have posted reviews for Dwayne and Ernie I am from out of town and they took care of my problem. It turns out that I had a transmission leak and Ernie has it almost put back together in only a couple of hours without an appointment. I highly recommend them. Treat them right, they will treat you right.

Reasonably priced. Quick service. Very nice, and explained the issues with my vehicle, before they did the work. If needed again, would definitely choose their garage again.

brought my car in to be diagnosed and repaired after it overheated. I had to bring the car back three times and its still overheating. they replaced the entire cooling system to later diagnose a blown head gasket. any educated mechanic knows to check this immediately. the mechanic has lied to me several times and wont guarantee his work after he said he would. gave me my written estimate on a sticky note, hung up on me, the radiator he installed leaks, now I'm out over $1000 and my car still overheats. did I mention he wont even fix what he started or the head gasket now. he actually told me to just keep adding coolant cause the car is eating it. it would make more sense to fix the car properly. Bettendorf friendly auto is a joke of a business. DO NOT GO HERE. its funny how the top 3 reviews on here are made by the same person "W".

DO NOT USE!!! I brought my vehicle in for a simple brake bleed. Was quoted $85 over the phone. A day after dropping it off, they called and said it was ready and the price was $610+!!! They installed a master cylinder and a front wheel hub assembly without bothering to first call me and let me know that it needed these additional parts OR bothering to get my authorization. They NEVER provided me with a quote (verbal or written) as to the additional amount. I made them remove the wheel hub assembly and put the old one back on. Now the price went down to $294. After they had posession of my vehicle for over a week, when I showed up to pay, they REFUSED to take payment via check or credit card, claiming I was going to put a stop-payment on the check or dispute the cc charge. They demanded cash and cash only. Furthermore, they then shut the door to the garage locking my vehicle inside... effectively holding my car hostage. I returned 10 minutes later with cash. I should have called the police on them. Folks, listen up... EVERYTHING this shop did was ILLEGAL! Per Iowa Law, you are ENTITLED to a written estimate. A repair shop is REQUIRED to get your authorization BEFORE installing parts. And they absolutely CAN NOT hold a vehicle hostage because of a dispute over the payment! This place was 110% in the wrong! I have filed a complaint with the Iowa State Attorney's Office for their negligence. I had never used this place before. The ONLY reason I went there was because I am a believer in supporting small businesses. Learned my lesson the hard way and will never go back! Trust me, take your car to the dealership.... you might pay a bit more but you'll have peace of mind they will follow the rules.

Brought my car in and was quoted 3 different prices within 24 hours. He added taxes and new found problems that didn't exist. I was told $200 out the door, but when I arrived to pick up my car the price was raised to $260. On top of all this my car was not ready and still being worked on.. I WILL NEVER RETURN OR REFER THIS PLACE OF BUSINESS. Beware!!!

They do great work at a low price. Most importantly, they look out for you and aren't trying to get you to drain your pockets. They tell you what the major problems are and the less pressing ones and let you make a decision as to what you want to do within your budget. Kinda like if your dad owned a mechanic shop and was always bailing you out of your bad decisions. lol. I don't take my cars anywhere else.

My dad is my main mechanic back home in the Chicagoland area, so moving out to the QC meant finding a mechanic I could actually trust when I couldn’t get my cars home. Ernie and his guy are the only two other people I’d ever allow to touch my cars. Trustworthy and don’t give you the run around or try to sell you something you don’t need. You can tell he cares about you being safe behind the wheel, not the cost of your bill. Highly recommend this awesome crew!

I have been to this place 6-8 times, last month was enough! I have given them well over $3,500 in repairs, when you get a receipt it typically doesn’t list the job only the price. I paid $375 for front pads/rotors. This is a fact, I was quoted three different prices 😡 when I dropped it off it was $325, when they called me said it was done, it was $350, when I got there it was $375. I was upset then gave them my card and walked out. I see this has happened to other people, not just me. My truck shakes worse now then before them “fixing” it. When you go in they always “find” other things wrong that has nothing to do with what you brought your vehicle in for, twice they fixed it without asking me. One of the guys taller gentlemen is great, the older man needs to quit, he’s rude, not helpful. I AM done, you take your vehicle there good luck. Last example I got a radiator put in, had a year warranty, they couldn’t find a receipt that it was done. No wonder they don’t take warranty from companies they’re not legit, never again!!!

My husband and I were in the area over the weekend when our car started overheating on highway 74. We made it to the TBK bank parking lot on Sunday evening where we left it for the night. Bright and early the next morning we started calling repair places. The first one we called was closed on Mondays but he said that if he needed his car fixed he would go to Friendly Auto, which was just a block down the street. We called and they got us in and back on the road home to Michigan by 5 pm that day. Thankfully it was only a hose blowout. They lived up to the name Friendly in more ways than one! They are the auto shop recommended by car guys in the area and by stranded Michigan motorists! Thank you for your wonderful repair and customer service skills. If we could have given more than 5 stars we would have!

I will definitely be returning to this shop for my vehicle needs! I have gotten the run around for over a month and haven’t been able to get a definite diagnosis after having work done by another local shop and still having intermittent issues that progressively got more consistent. A visit to friendly auto got the diagnosis i needed to FINALLY get my issue resolved! Thank you guys again.

Called Monday, only place able to get me in this week, dropped it off this morning (Thursday) and they had it checked out by noon and once I okayed the work, my car was ready by 4pm!! The gentlemen working are respectful and kind, They both took the time to say Thank you as I left the shop! Parts and labor prices are the best in town! Highly recommended to anyone that wants reliable, affordable and trustworthy car repairs
