Five star review because Jonathan was very helpful and friendly and showed compassion. There was a customer that ran to get in-front of me and was able to understand and empathize with the situation. He was able to make it work so I was able to get to work on time. I really appreciate him and his kindness!

Andre gave great service. They fixed an axle that another shop messed up for half the price. Advised what was necessary and what could be held off. Refreshing honesty in a sea of price gouging Bay Area mechanics.

I called on 10/15/25 to replace my worn out tires and Francisco quoted me a great price for 4 new tires, installation and Tire Protection Plan and scheduled the work for 8:15am the next day. I arrived and was greeted by Francisco, who addressed all my questions courteously, and informed me about needed regular maintenance. He got the work started right away and service was completed within the 2 hours promised, actually 30 mins. earlier. I came back the following day to request a re-set of the Tire Pressure Monitoring System and Francisco completed this additional service quickly for me upon arrival at the shop. The stress of replacing my old tires was taken care of with great customer service! I plan to make this my go to tire repair shop moving forward.

Service was great inside and out. I went in to have my TPMS sensors put in, which was reasonably priced for my budget for my 2004 Infiniti FX35. It took about 45 minutes to an hour, and I was back on the road again; my sensors were reprogrammed. So the noise was gone; I just went to YouTube to get the method for turning off the light, normally just undoing the battery for 10-15 minutes until the power is out completely, negative wire first. Then putting the positive side on, then the negative after resets the codes . Is there a way to reset

I was in a pickle when I blew a tire today. I hate that new cars don’t have spare tires and to make it worst the tires on my car are a low volume hard to find tire. Marvin at Big O got me fitted with OEM spec tire in less then 24 hours. Great service and good peoples working over there. I think I found my go to tire shop. Edit: When I return home from picking up my wheel to install I notice the inside of the rim was marred and had gashes. See pictures. We inspected the wheel when I brought it in and specially told Marvin that these wheels are ridiculously expensive. Toyota part number 42611-12F40 BBS forged Aluminum made in Japan Morizo style wheels $2247 each!!!! He specially wrote on the purchase order and highlighted in bright yellow “Not damaged”. I blame the installer and is not Marvin’s fault. Marvin said he would only be able to fix the wheel ( get it re-finished) but it would take 5 days that I cannot spare. Since it is only on the inside of the wheel I’m just gonna take the huge “L” on this one!

They refused to repair my tires and said there was no choice but to pay for two brand new tires. They ALWAYS say this. My local 76 repaired by tires just fine for less than 1/10 what this shady operation want to charge me. Steer clear. Not to be trusted.

We had a tire with a PSI of only 10 on a Saturday evening at 6:55 pm and couldn’t find any open shops nearby. We called this place just 5 minutes before they closed, and they stayed open to wait for us. They filled our tire for free—such an amazing and generous service. We’re really grateful for their help! 🙏

ATTN Aggressive employee! We brought our car in due to a slow leak in one of our tires and they recommended we replace all 4 due to the tire treads, so we did. Upon changing the tires, they somehow lost one of our hubcaps (how does that happen over a span of only 2 -3 hours?). We bought a replacement hubcap because they mentioned they would refund us for it. We had not received a reply via email regarding the refund, however, they called us back leaving an annoyed voicemail. We return the call and mention the refund and the rep yells at us and threaten with violence after calling him unprofessional and asking to speak to a manager (which he was not and said “no you’re talking to me”). Unsure how dangerous this individual can be but I am fearful to ever take my car back there. The incident has been reported to corporate, but in case they don’t do anything about it, I want to ensure other people are aware and stay safe. Update: The franchise owner reached out to us and confirmed the individual we spoke with can be a hot head (which isn’t really an acceptable excuse to his actions).

Was a repeat customer for years but not again after today. You lie to my face like I’m an idiot and I don’t come back. Made an appointment online for new tires. Got the confirmation email. Showed up and was then lied to. Was told they called to tell me - they didn’t. As I said, I’ve been here many times and have their number programmed into my phone. No calls from them since making the appointment, no voicemail. Calls and voicemails from others, including marketing calls, but none from them. You forgot to call, no biggie, just say “we meant to call you” instead of insisting you actually called when I said I don’t have any call from you. Lying to customers is bad for business. Even setting that aside, after lying about calling and telling me they don’t have the tires, they did not offer to help me pick alternatives or do anything but look at me and then the computer waiting for me to walk away. Well, I did just that and will not be back. Found better tires at a slightly better price from the dealer directly. Update: you asked me to reach out to the contact us section of your site 4 hours ago. Please note that I had already done this prior to leaving the review and still no answer. The only email from your company is one telling me I left something in my cart, which I already responded to too. That’s 2 emails from me to Big O Tires about the experience and no actual response other than an automated one telling me I left something in my cart that your store claimed is not available anywhere.

The Big O Tires (in Berkeley, CA) helped me get 4 quality tires at a reasonable price. In addition to putting the tires on and aligning them, they also offer free 5,000 mile tire rotations, and lifetime free flat repairs! The set of tires I purchased come with a 3 year guarantee. The team are very professional and friendly, and answered my many questions with a genuine smile. This was my first experience with this shop - and I will definitely be a repeat customer in the future.

They don’t…do anything?? I had trouble with my tire pressure and called ahead to see if I could stop by without an appointment. When I got there they told me to wait in a parking spot. Nothing happened after that. I thought maybe they were busy, although there was only one car in the garage and several staff members around. Then I saw the people who were in the office and told me to wait just slowly sauntering around, chatting with other employees. It was weird. I just left after 20 minutes. I did my best to think of reasons for this behavior but couldn’t come up with anything rational besides being a woman at an auto shop full of men, especially because they tended just fine to my partner who cranked up his masculinity when interacting with them. I asked when I called if they carried the correct oil for my car and they said yes. They put the wrong kind of oil in my car and aggressively tried to tell me it was fine. I now have to pay for a second oil change at another shop. The main thing is that if you have a question or need to solve a problem here, these guys will get scary, interrupt you, make up information and try to intimidate you. I would have been happy to pay more for the right oil, would have paid to solve it with them somehow, but these guys are just looking to fight.

I have been a repeat customer for a couple years, but unfortunately they lost my business today when I saw a mechanic lie to the manager's face with me listening. I paid for an oil change + tire rotation, and chatted about what the tire rotation pattern would be. I have one bent wheel so wanted to know where it'd be rotated to. When I came back I saw the bent wheel in the same spot on the car and asked the manager if he could double check with the mechanics if the tires were rotated. The manager checked to see who worked on the car and the responsible mechanic said to his face that he rotated the tires. I decided to not make a big deal about it, but 100% the tires were not rotated. As I got in the car, the mechanics were staring me down. I called back to report this, and was offered a "free" tire rotation. This is not a review against management, but how can I leave my car in a shop with mechanics I can't trust? Sorry guys.

Took twice as long as I was told to get to my car, but once they did quality repair of flats. Customer service was polite and apologetic. A bit pricey, but job done superior to simple plug places. Repair cost not much less than new low price tire. You'll have to decide if it is worth it.

I had brand new tires installed and balanced at Big O Tires, and the workmanship was disappointing. Right after leaving the shop there was a noticeable wobble at highway speeds, which usually means the wheels weren’t balanced properly. That vibration the whole way home was frustrating, especially after paying for brand new tires and installation. They even returned the car with mismatched valve stem caps. It is a small detail, but it gives the impression that no one is paying attention to the little things, which makes you wonder about the bigger ones like balancing. Customers notice these details. When you pay for new tires, you expect the car to leave the shop driving smoothly. That was not my experience here.

I brought my car in with a persistent vibration that another mechanic thought might be caused by defective tires. Jesse took the time to really listen, review my service history, and methodically work through the possible causes instead of jumping to conclusions. When the first repair didn’t fix it, he didn’t give up… he kept troubleshooting, consulted with a trusted colleague, and ultimately tracked it down to the left front axle. He even test drove the car himself to make sure the vibration was truly gone before giving it back to me. Jesse was kind, honest, (funny!) and thorough throughout the whole process. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend Big O Tires for more than just tires.

Sketchy pricing tactics. Called to confirm I could bring five tires and five wheels I bought online to have them mounted and balanced - "yep, $25 per tire." I confirmed - so that would be $125 + taxes/fees? "yep, $25/tire - doesn't matter how many you bring." cool. Called the day before I was ready and the guy said "yeah, $30/tire." 30? The guy last week said 25/tire. "Not sure, it's $30/tire." So, that would be $150 for five? "yep, 150." Ok, fine. Loaded the tires and wheels, drove to the shop, walked in - "Hey, good morning, I've got five tires and wheels in my truck, two different guys told me two different prices on the phone - is it 25/tire or 30/tire?" "It's $40." WUT - hang on, I called last week and the guy said 25/tire, I called yesterday and the guy said 30/tire - you're telling me it's now $40? "Yep." Nah - that's b.s. Sketchy. I called another shop down the street, straight forward pricing, got them done that day with. I would not go here without a locked in price or coupon.

John Cook , Was very pleasant and kind. I made an inquiry about tires on Sunday, I went online to make an appointment. He called me expeditiously on that Sunday. I was surprised, since I thought I would have to wait til Monday for a response. He ordered the tires and the next day, Monday, I went to get tires placed on vehicle. He was friendly and nice in person as well. As well as the people inside where he was were friendly too. Thanks for making my day brighter!

Absolutely terrible- told me 90 minutes, took 4 hours. Got rid of my tire that was still good after we talked about saving it. Hubcaps have chunks broken off and they go back and forth between saying this is how they were when I dropped the car off and saying that’s just what happens when you change tires. I found after this exchange other customers who had the same experience with having their car damaged. They called to say the tires were changed but the alignment still needed to be done and would be about 45 more minutes, I went to wait at the shop and they just gave me the keys, so now I’m questioning whether the alignment even got done. Also suspicious that my mechanic told me all of my tires were good except one, and when I got here they said they all needed to be changed. I believed it at the time but after my experience and reading more reviews I’m skeptical. Spending $650 on 4 $53 tires and a maybe alignment just isn’t it. Edit: I see you responding to this review telling me to contact you through your website and I’ve done that days ago, no one responded.
