I was referred to boyds by another camry owner. We just happened to spark up a conversation because this gentleman was just advising me how reliable Camrys are and how long they will last with proper care. He told me he was a long time customer of Boyds and that the owner and staff were very knowledgeable and does excellent work. Well I took down Boyds information and said I would give the shop a try when I needed any maintenance done. Well saying all that to say. Its been almost a year and I needed some maintenance done on my car. Headlights and AC work. I took my car in about 9am. Boyd assigned my car to one of the workers right away. I must say THIS BY FAR WAS THE BEST EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD AT ANY SHOP!. They were very knowledgeable and very professional. I had my car back within about 2/3hrs!.The pricing was aslo reasonable. No ridiculous extra fees were added! This shop has gained a new customer!

Bob at Boyd’s was very professional and honest. Me and my daughters were on a road trip up to Washington, and while we were doing some sightseeing in San Francisco we ended up bottoming out the car on a few potholes and dips. I ended up tearing off the front splash guard under my car. As a walk-in he was accommodating and took my car in right away and removed the splash guard from under the car so it would damage the car as we continued on with our road Trip. I’m so thankful for his service as he allowed me to drive safely with my kids. Thank you for your help.

The WORST and UNRELIABLE car shop I had...possible involving Scams !! (1) When I got my car, it had a huge crack on my front windshield, a flat tire, and my car was parked "on the street". The owner, Bob, responded: There was already a windshield chip, and the sun/heat made the chip crack. Bob was foreign from the middle east so I assume that was the reason he talked slowly & nicely. However, at this moment, he talked fast and mean saying, "You go check the milage of your car, there's not even 1mi added!" I noticed he was holding my car keys tighter, so I knew I wouldn't get my car back to work unless I paid him. So he got it his way. (2) Bob charged me storage fee but actually kept customers' cars on the st. This is a small shop, yet it's in an unsafe area. So they move customers' cars to the street after they fix them. (3) They estimated 3 days to fix my bumper, but it took 7 days, causing car rental cost double....and what's better for them, they charged me STORAGE FEE using public streets! I went to 3 other car shops nearby, they had less cars getting fixed than Boyd's, but they told me between 3~5 days. I wish I had had chosen those shops. Bonus: After I paid Bob, he recommended a glass shop owned by his friend to fix my windshield. Bob specifically wanted me to tell the shop he referred me, and I will get a discount. ... Another scam? Later, I went to a different shop, the manager there said my windshield crack was actually caused by dropping some sharp heavy metal on my windshield. I do NOT recommend this shop !!!

Bob at Boyd's and his crew always deliver great service at hard to beat prices. I was recently referred here to fix my struts and he was able to provide me a quote then and there that was half of the price to where I was previously was taking my car to. They were also able to look at any of the other issues I brought to their attention, so yeah, Bob will always take care of your car and you! Now I'm like I wish I knew of this place sooner.

I took my car to Boyd's for what appeared to be a radiator leak. He told me they would inspect it, find what the problem was, and call me. They looked at it, called me and told me I would need a New Radiator, and a new Thermostat. They also told me my Coolant Sensor was bad, and needed to be replaced. I authorized the repairs. The repairs were done on time- I was concerned about this, because I had to be at work in mid-afternoon. The work was done on time, and he also gave me a big break on the cost of the parts. Now, here is the bottom line: the work was done in a timely, very professional way. My car has not run this way in a long time. I believe the car computer was running in a different mode, because of the faulty Coolant Sensor. My very rough idle is gone, the car has a lot more power (it wants to get up and go now) and has better gas mileage. I would recommend Boyd's to anyone that wants quality work done at a reasonable price. Go by and look at their parking lot. You will find it very full, all the time. They would not have all these cars if they did not do good quality work, at a reasonable price. Unfornatuately, I do not work up here in this area anymore. I will drive the 50 miles, to bring my car in for repairs to Boyd's. My sister's truck is running really bad. I am working on it so we can drive it to Boyd's to have them find out what is wrong with it. If not, I am going to have it towed to Boyd's. I am completely 100% sold on Boyd's and would recommend them to anyone. Floyd

My car was hit while parked, resulting in a dent and surprisingly extensive paint damage on two panels. They fixed my car in 5 days, which is exactly how long they said it would take. Only went over quote by about $50. They did a basic interior and exterior cleaning of the car before returning it to me, which was much appreciated. Hopefully no one else hits my car, but if they do, I will use Boyd's again.

I really like this shop. Mr. Bob and his crew are do great work and Mr. Bob is always straightforward with the need-to-knows and when the best time is to come back for more work to keep my vehicle running. They're five minutes away, convenient and way less expensive than other places that tried to charge me thousands more when his charges are half of what they charge. Today my friend asked me to see if my mechanic does wiring - because I have a mechanic. Boyd's! They are very close to my apartment and I have been coming here since I moved to the neighborhood AND they always get the job done. I have a 2005 Subaru that I love and I don't have any desire to get a new car, but with that comes the need for new brakes, a new radiator, the check engine light, and on and on and on lol - Boyd's always fits me in the day I call, gives me GREAT prices. He always looks out for me too. the other day I brought my car in because a belt was going out. While fixing it he noticed I had a nail in my tire. they patched it up for me. I definitely recommend these guys.

My experience with Bob and his team was fantastic. Bob was honest, straightforward, and fair. He called me before any extra repairs he suggested to explain why. He also gave me detailed pricing for each repair before making them. After the repairs were finished, he showed me the broken parts to further explain why they needed to be replaced. I can't ask for anything more from a mechanic. I will use Boyd's exclusively for any repairs.

My husband and I are neighbors of the Boyd's and have been the customers for more than a decade. I got a minor accident this time, and my MX-5 needed to get a new bumper and fenders, etc due to large dents. - Bob and his team are always fantastic! They sent me a detailed estimate with each accurate part number right away, so I was able to purchase discounted yet high-quality parts online and directly sent them to the shop. This excellent communication eventually saved a lot of the total repair cost. Once the parts arrived at the shop, the team got done all the jobs within three business days! and my car looks brand new again. I also appreciate Bob always offers advance deep inspections, interior/exterior cleaning, and cleaning headlights free of charge. - Highly recommended.

I had State Farm, and they worked well with my insurance to get a revised estimate approved by them. if you got a pay out from your insurance at all, just be sure to let them know that. my repairs took two weeks but that’s because they had to order huge new parts. they also washed, waxed, and detailed the interior of my car, so I was very happy with the work done. The paint job was also excellent

I found Boyd's online looking for a place to have some body work done that was close to where I live in North Oakland. My door was somehow bending my fender when I opened and closed it, this was my welcome to the world of owning your first car in the Bay Area and not knowing how something like this just randomly happens. I went to a couple other places for quotes and they were charging me quite a bit for what I needed done. I went to Boyd's and the gentleman was straight up with me and very nice. He told me what was going to be done and what and when to expect. 5 days later, which includes waiting for the part and labor, and my vehicle was ready! I didn't mind waiting. Even on the day that I was picking up I was running behind and he stayed open for for a few more minutes to give me a chance to come there and pick up. I plan on returning for any other needs that I have. This is a very professional shop and I appreciate the work and honesty.

Really glad I came here, they repaired my old Tahoe, I hit a utility pole and bent in the bumper, fender and the hood. Bob and his crew took care of me and were amazing, they even shampooed the inside of my Tahoe and washed it too, they really went above and beyond there. The price to repair was fair and they repaired in the time they stated it would be done, my family and I are beyond satisfied with the work they’ve done. Thank you!

Boyd's is as honest as they come. I've had the owner advise me on how I could get different parts for some repairs. Air compressors are not cheap. They do detailing, bodywork and maintenance so they're really a one stop shop. They provide a drop off to your office if you are within range. they are in constant demand so make sure to call ahead and try to make an appointment a few days in advance.
