Based on a recommendation I took my vehicle to Scott when Bulldog Automotive was at their old location a couple years ago. Been taking my vehicle to him ever since. Local, honest, friendly and has been willing to help me even when there was no monetary benefit to him. He lives by the golden rule... treat others the way you want to be treated. Trustworthy, dependable and with the extra bays and lifts at their new location they can offer even more services.

I was a potential out of state buyer for one of the local cars and arranged for pre-purchase inspection. Scott and his team were very thorough in evaluating the vehicle I was interested in buying. Scott went through the areas of concern one by one with me over the phone, and presented repair options. I am very pleased with their expertise and grateful for their patience.

These are some of the nicest, and most knowledgeable mechanics I've met. I was coming back from Delaware heading to Colorado when we started breaking down and they helped as soon as possible to get us on the road and the price was more than fair. I also got a very comprehensive break down of what they found and what they did to fix the issues. 10 out of 10, would recommend.

Friendly staff, quality service. I took my car in for some highway shaking it had been experiencing. The previous mechanic I took it to fixed the non highway shaking, but never bothered to fix the high speed issues. Bulldog fixed the issue and was very communicative duing the process to let me know what parts and services I'd need. They were very thorough and transparent with the issues and solutions. I've definitely found my go-to mechanic.

Our daughter was due to drive back to college and had suspension issues with her car that needed repaired. Bulldog Auto was able to fit us in to the schedule, repaired the issues that another shop had not done correctly. They are professional and very reasonable. We are extremely satisfied and highly recommend.

They did and alignment on my truck and it was wrong. Went for a oil change at Midas and they said it was VISIBLY out of alignment. They offered no warrantee and blamed Illinois roads. I have only driven a few hundred miles in it and no potholes or bumps. I will not go back.

4 star instead of 1 because system blocks my review otherwise. Mechanics are great, but man on the desk overcharged me by $150. Manager-cashier tries to upsell services which results in additional costs - they try to search for lots of hidden issues in your car and forget to mention that you have to pay their regular going rate for this exercise. The issue is that I didn't ask those things to be fixed, but the things that I asked to fix were not addressed. I have a sense that manager is trained to be in the business of selling diagnostics - that is when you still pay those $90-$150 an hour for searching any mythical problems but without the actual fix. For example, I asked to replace brake pads and rotors, but was told that they are fine. 2 days later almost crashed downhill in West Virginia because i couldn't stop my car - warped rotors badly vibrated which i explicitly mentioned to address bulldog in writing at the time of my visit.

You cannot go wrong with this team. They are friendly, good humored and patient no matter how silly your question! Scott & Tim are amazingly helpful and thorough. Jen makes the lobby experience engaging. I’ve been using them for a year now and every service has been spot on, as promised, on time and at an affordable price. Give them a chance to smooth your ride!

As always, posting with 5 stars cause it will not post with anything lower otherwise. This place is a total scam. Charged $225 bucks for AC recharge and $275 for various diagnostics. The only thing fixed is my steering knock which was priced at $90-$150. Okay, thanks. But today i went to another shop and had my AC recharged - it was never this cold after visiting bulldog. It looks like my AC works fine and these guys at Bulldog simply did not do anything to refill my AC. They blatantly lied to my face throwing words like evacuated, recharged with oil and the guy at the desk said that temp went down by 2F. They grabbed my $225 bucks and did nothing to fix my AC issue - it was empty and not even refilled. Other place actually did the recharge and now my AC is freezing cold as it supposed to be. If you are not from their friends list get ready to be hosed and lied.

4 star instead of 1 because it will block the review. Took my ford fusion to them. Replaced a fine O2 sensor, cleared engine light sent me on my way. Engine light came back on shortly after brought the car back to them. Charged me $100+ dollars for diagnostic fees to tell me the car is fine and the light came on because “I don’t drive it enough to get it too operational temperature” Which isn’t true. Later that day driving on the interstate the car cut power completely and went limp mode. Took it to another shop that told me the whole catalytic converter system was failing. Took it to the ford dealer and the guy said the catalytic converter was very damaged and he hasn’t seen anything like it and didn’t know how it could happen had it replaced and the car runs great now no issues. Would never recommend this shop.

I can’t say enough good things about Bulldog Automotive! I’ll admit, I’m pretty cautious when it comes to the care of my car & where I take it. Earlier this year they helped install new tires on my vehicle and I cannot thank them enough for the quality of care they put into the install. Their team was incredibly friendly and we’re so welcoming when I reached out to schedule my service. I am so thankful to have a local shop that I fully trust.

Fast, honest and kind. Took my work van to a different company first and they told me $3300 to replace my entire front steering system to fix my issue of the steering wheel shaking back and forth slightly while braking. Took it to Bulldog Automotive for a second opinion and found out it was only warped rotors and they took care of it same day for a fraction of the price. Drives perfectly now.

Highly recommend, really professional and patient. They solved the high-speed vibration problem of my old honda accord. Although my English is poor, they communicated with me patiently and explained everything to me in detail. They checked my car very carefully, solved the problem, and gave future advice. Thanks very much for their professionalism and patience.

Our car had a major engine issue and we had to have it towed to the shop. Upon inspection it seemed we might need a new engine, and I asked for a price. But Scott, took the time to look into it further and found that it may be under warranty and recommended I take it to one of the dealerships for inspection. I cannot thank Scott enough, they have earned my business for a long time to come.

Friendly but unreliable. After I ran over a deer carcass, they told me the radiator needed replaced for about $500. Car was still smoking and difficult to start; they told me it was just residue burning off the engine. Took to Meineke; they said head gasket was cracked, and the car was too damaged to be worth fixing. When I requested a partial refund, Bulldog owner declined. TLDR: Competent mechanics and polite staff, but get a second opinion before committing to any major repairs.

I was almost exactly halfway through a 500 mile road trip when my Check Engine light came on and my car started running rough, but I was incredibly lucky that the closest mechanic was so reputable. I pulled up at Bulldog less than an hour before they closed, and they quickly diagnosed the issue, got someone to drive the needed ignition coil over from who knows where, and had me on the road in about 45 minutes, all for a very fair price. The folks here are professional, friendly, and communicate clearly. If I didn't live 250 miles away, this would easily be my go-to mechanic.

Bulldog Automotive is TOP NOTCH! We live over an hour away and our transmission went out while traveling on I-74. It’s a long story, but the short story is these guys are honest and they will not try to “sell” you a repair that’s not necessary. We ended up picking our Honda Oddysey up with a truck and trailer. I asked them what I owe, and they said nothing at all. I gave them what cash I had on hand, but please anyone reading this just get your vehicle serviced here. They are an ELITE auto repair shop!

The staff is very friendly, and they do a great job for a very fair price. I've been taking my cars to them for a few years. I'm never worried that they've missed something or are recommending unnecessary work.

This is one of the best mechanic shops I've ever been to. They take their time and are very upfront cost and what work needs to be done to your vehicle. I believe they do regular maintenance as well as larger jobs. Make sure you check with them first their counter staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They call on time and make sure that you are aware of whatever is going on with your vehicle. Great service, and great place to take your vehicle
