I went to purchase a Frontier and saw the discount of $9,500, I was told that they couldn’t let the vehicle go at that price, so they added a protection package worth up to $3500. I explained that package was optional and did not want the package. The finance manager stated that it cannot be taken off. I told him I couldn’t afford the vehicle with that optional package on. He refused to talk to me after that and would just walk away from me and say “it’s a great deal. I tried to explain I could get the military discount and he said that was the best deal and to forget about the military discount and he wasn’t gonna do anything else. Then the sales person came and told me that I could leave and come back tomorrow due to closing time pretty much. I started shopping for the same vehicle in San Antonio and they were willing to give me a lower interest rate through Nissan motor finance company.

DO NOT do business with Charlie Clark Nissan in Brownsville. From the salesmen, to the finance guys to the General Sales Manager, they were very dishonest all around. I made arrangements to drive from Donna to Brownsville for a used vehicle I was interested in on a Wednesday after work. I gave them my information, and they ran my credit, assuring me we were good to move forward with financing. Neither the salesman Mr. Villarreal or the finance guy called me back the next day with payment details. I had to reach out to them MYSELF on Friday to see what the payment would be. When I finally reached a good payment price with the finance person, they told me someone else was interested in the vehicle and was coming in to purchase it. They pretty much said whoever gets there first will take the vehicle. RIDICULOUS! I had to take time off of work to try and get there before they sold it, but they did ANYWAY! The GSM, Rick, was very apologetic, asking me to give him a day to make it right, that he would find me that vehicle with one of his dealers, and get me to the payment I needed. That was all a lie. They found me a vehicle that I was willing to buy almost $10,000 less than the first vehicle. The payment was still way over the price I told them I was able to pay. I had to go back and forth with the finance people. They refused to remove a “maintenance” package that they stated was part of the finance package. Nowhere in the online price does it say that maintenance package is mandatory. Making it part of the finance package is shady and deceitful so check your paperwork before you sign anything. The man doing the final paperwork kept telling me that if I didn’t want the vehicle to not take it just because I was back and forth with the pricing. What kind of dealer does that???? They had me at the dealership from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. dragging out the paperwork, wasting my time. I really wanted to do business with Charlie Clark, but because of this experience, I will never do business with them again. The climate in the dealership was very machismo, unprofessional, and deceitful. I will be reporting to the BBB. Very bad for business Charlie. I ended up finding a brand new 2026 for the same payment price at Bert Ogden Nissan in McAllen. They did all the financing/dealing over the phone. All I had to do was go in and sign my paperwork. Do Better Charlie Clark in Brownsville!!
