I paid them 100$ to fix my alignment but my car still pulls severely to the right. They didn’t fix anything and they were very rude about it when I told them afterwards. I don’t recommend this place unless you like wasting time and money.

I came to them with a "I think I need my tires balanced" as they shake the wheel when I drive. The older gentleman came to my 4Runner, ran his hands around a tire, and told me he could rebalance them, but it won't solve the problem, as the tires are cupped from too much wear on the treads. (admittedly, at about 50,000 miles on these tires.) Pretty impressed, as it would be really easy to charge me for a rebalance. He didn't try and sell me on new tires (though I do need them) just told me the truth, sadly a rare commodity in the auto repair biz today. All that said, finally have the $s for new tires and planning to come back here for the service. - AB in SB

Thanks Toby! We needed new tires for our 1969 VW bus. After a big search and actually visiting some other tire shops in person we ended up going with Toby at Cost Tires. I got a great feeling from them when I first called and it was even better when I went there. They were very knowledgeable and did not try to sell us on stuff we did not want or need. Great service, went in a couple times for basic work and then one time I got a flat tire and they patched it for free. Also would just ask them questions whenever I was fixing something myself and they were always friendly and helped me out. Would recommend.

I needed shocks for my jeep all around , the employe had to think about how much it cost to do the job I told him that i wanted a simple standard shocks.. He said that if his memory recalled of the replacement job ! It was around $1,200.00? He sound like he dint have time for the phone conversation..made me feel like i was being rushed. I was shocked! Wow!! Good thing that i priced around town ,found out that firestone ,on upper state street will replace all 4 shocks for the sum of $615,00 thats more reasonable! Also prior of looking for some new tires .i also reached out to coast tires on there web about a week or so earlier..on there site, and requested a online quote? Left them all my information ,phone, tire size ext! And its been over a week or so now! and still have not heard from them .. It really nice to do business with professional tire company’s that put there best interest and service to there customers and make them feel like there being rushed and most of all ,do the proper price quote (instead of trying to remember! ) That was a ‘costly’ mistake !! and on the sales of tire that have as well... But they never responded to the online quote request! Wonder how long they’ll be in business?

Coast Tires and Service is the mechanic I have been looking for for the 7 years I have lived in Santa Barbara. They're open on Saturdays which is a huge convenience factor for someone like me who has a jam-packed weekday schedule. They are fairly priced and very honest. I went in for an oil change, but they also checked a bunch of other things for me (brake pads, rotors, etc) and found some serious issues that could have resulted in an accident, possibly risking my life. One of my brake pads was at 5%! They showed me how they measure the brake pads and I physically saw the tool they use and they showed me the measurements right in front of me with that tool. They showed me the difference between one of my rotors which was severely leaking, and the other which just started leaking. They also physically showed me how my power steering belt is extremely cracked. I let them know I was financially limited, and essentially asked "What is most important here?" They were honest and told me the brake pads and rotors were dangerous and should be fixed ASAP, but I could wait on the power steering belt. So I got the rotors and brake pads done, and will most definitely return here for my power steering fix (which they already provided a quote on). Thanks, Coast Tires and Service!

I needed tires for my car sometime during Covid and a lot of businesses were closed especially the small local businesses .I thought my money would be well spent if I supported a local shop I took my car to Adan and his crew at Coast Tire they were absolutely amazing. Total Scam Artists Beware! I ordered tires and prepaid them $1863. When it was time to install my tires they gave me some excuse that the distributor "picked them up" because they were close to being six months old. Meanwhile, they were only holding them for a month. Since then they gave me other excuses, are non responsive to my texts, and haven't done anything to make this right. I definitely wouldn't trust them. If I could give them zero stars I would!

Don was very knowledgeable, friendly and provided quick service. I brought my Mercedes in for a tire repair and they found another tire had a puncture, they repaired both and rotated and balanced the tires, which were not purchased at Coast Tire and Service for less than $100. Very reasonable price for top quality service, highly recommended. Bonus note: I recently acquired this Mercedes and the only issue it had was a vibration on the highway around 60mph, the tire balance was all it needed and now it’s smooth as butter at all speeds. Thanks to Don and the crew at Coast Tire and Service for saving me hefty costs trying to diagnose this elsewhere.
