Please heed the recent reviews saying this place takes advantage of customers. I got a tail light replaced here last April and it was great! Pricing was super transparent and they were fast. However I took my car back last week to get serviced and it was horrendous and in line with other recent negative reviews. I made an appointment for Saturday at 9am a week in advance. I call the Friday before to make sure I can drop it off, they say it might go into Monday. Deeply not ideal as I am a teacher and I commute to work, but I liked my experience last time and needed my car seen. I had to have my mom call for me because I can’t make calls during the school day, they didn’t even look at it until Monday afternoon when they say they can’t find what’s wrong and ask to keep it another day so their master technician can look at it. I was hesitant because I had to get a rental car to get to work but they say they get a great discount with enterprise. However, the discount is fixed so it saved me an entire $2. Tuesday they finally diagnose my car and let my mom know that it will be $1400 to fix not even half of the things they would like to and that $230 of that was just to look at my car. My mom asked if I was informed of diagnosing it costing $230 and she was assured that I was but I absolutely was not! They have a camera in their lobby area and I would LOVE for them to check it because at no point was I made aware of that! And I would have picked it up Tuesday morning had I known that because between the rental and diagnosing any issues I am already out $340. Wednesday they fix what I can afford, I pick it up Thursday morning, meaning that my 9am Saturday appointment ran 5 days long!! I made a Saturday appointment purposely because of my job. I am sympathetic to staffing issues but I feel they were disingenuous throughout the process so I would get my car serviced by them. I am so disappointed with my recent experience. I was thrilled to find a trustworthy mechanic that was open on Saturday’s but it feels like they take advantage of people at random.

My car was a difficult fix. It needed specific parts that took longer than expected to get delivered but Coopers kept in constant communication with me and made sure I knew they were working on it and doing everything they could to get my car back to me as soon as they could. Very professional.

Over priced on everything it costed me 275$ just to do a dyno to check the problems im having and then 7000$ and something to fix the rough idle in it chevy silverado 2010 so bring a heavy wallet or good plastic and your first born good luck ....but the people where fantastic

I recently took my 2016 Ford F-150 to Coopers Auto Repair in Tacoma for some cooling upgrades and fluid maintenance, and overall, I had a positive experience despite a minor hiccup. The team did an excellent job installing the transmission cooler—it went smoothly, and I've already noticed better temperature management during drives. The transmission service and transfer case service were also handled professionally; they were thorough, explained everything clearly, and got it done on time without any issues. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and communicative throughout. The only downside was that they couldn't complete the auxiliary oil cooler installation due to a manufacturing defect in one of the Mishimoto parts (the thermostatic sandwich plate had improperly machined threads, preventing a proper seal). It wasn't their fault at all—they identified the problem quickly and advised me on how to get a replacement from the manufacturer. I'll definitely bring it back once the new part arrives. I'd recommend Coopers for their expertise and customer service—5 stars!

Saved my BEHIND before taking a road-trip! Went for an oil change on 10/31/2025 and they saw my tire was unsafe to drive. We replaced it at the same time. Great service!! They got me in early on New Year’s Eve for a diagnostic on a “ check emissions “ light. There was a problem with the first catalytic converter part which was resolved quickly. Catalytic converter, 2: O2 sensors replaced with new wiper blades. Lance expedited a rental vehicle from Enterprise. They were great at communicating and very efficient! I highly recommend Coopers Auto Repair Specialists on 103rd in Tacoma!!

I don’t usually leave bad reviews, so it honestly took a lot for me to write this. I brought my vehicle to Cooper’s Automotive for a specific issue and paid for a diagnostic inspection. My understanding is that when you pay for a diagnosis, you’re paying for the problem to be correctly identified so it can be properly fixed — not to go through a guessing process. I ended up spending over $1,600, and unfortunately, the original issue was still happening after the repair. When I brought the vehicle back, I was then told it was something else. That was very frustrating, especially after already paying for the inspection and repairs. I truly hope this feedback is taken constructively. Accurate diagnostics and clear communication make a big difference in building customer trust. I’m sharing this in hopes that improvements can be made so other customers have a better experience in the future.
