After two other shops, including a Dodge service center, failed to diagnose why my engine would sometimes not start, Curtis at Desert Automotive quickly identified the issue within 30 minutes – a faulty lift pump. He promptly replaced it and discovered that the second fuel pump in the tank was also not functioning. I am a winter visitor from Georgia. I had a noise in the front end of my 2014 Ram 3500 and took it here to have it checked. I had no idea where to find a reputable shop that wouldn't invent things to repair. Turns out that it was a simple fix and the cost was more than fair. I went here to have my transmission looked at due to lights on dash. I even explained what it was doing. I had an appointment. I get there the guy wasn't there, his worker was. He wasn't aware I had an appointment. The owner was away getting parts. He called him, said he didn't remember talking to me. I told him the code my car was giving me. He didn't even offer to fix it just told me to take it to a transmission shop. I chose this place because of all the good reviews. Wasted my time and the person who followed me to give me a ride back home.

I took my 2005 GMC 3500 Duramax Diesel to Curtis to resolve my fluctuating idle problem. He got me in within 4 days, had it for a day and fixed the problem with the idle. Was very knowledgeable and had lots of experience in regards to the problem I had. Curtis was very sincere and offered, if I was to have a problem anywhere in my travels to give him a call to help find a solution economically and proper mechanical repair. I can't say enough good things about Desert Automotive and Diesel in the Yuma Foothills. They recently replaced the known-problematic DCR fuel pump in my F-350 with the far superior S&S fuel pump, and the peace of mind that upgrade gave me is truly priceless. Their work was professional, efficient, and done right the first time. More importantly, by getting this job done here, I likely saved myself up to $12,000 in potential engine repairs down the line—money I would’ve been out if the stock pump had failed like so many others have. The fact that they know these trucks and this issue so well gave me total confidence in their shop. If you own a 6.7L Power Stroke and haven't addressed the fuel pump issue, do yourself a favor and take it to Desert Automotive and Diesel. These folks know what they're doing, treat you right, and genuinely care about keeping your truck on the road. Highly recommended!
