These guys came recommended by a good friend when we were looking for a good shop closer to town. Came in for a state inspection and oil change and waited less than an hour. Very friendly group of guys and great customer service!

A gem of a place. Honest and trustworthy. I took in our older Suburban thinking it needed new brakes and the looked at everything and said still plenty of life left in pads and rotors. Could have easily just changed everything out and charged me for it.

The older fellow is far from friendly or prompt. My vehicle waited for days to even get looked at let alone worked on. I had to call the shop myself to get any information. The entire time it was in their shop I never got a single return call let alone a call to tell me what work had been done. They may be knowledgeable, but knowledge should not come at the price of civility.

Roger had been caring for my family's cars for 11 years. He is honest to a fault, to the point of open contempt for certain automotive design decisions, and how they affect your daily drive. Example: "if you saw how they hooked up the sunroof in these Volvos, you would CRY. You do NOT want to waste your money making it so it can open."

They've helped me with affordable tires, regular inspections, and most recently replaced the brakes on my Subaru. They are kind and thoughtful, and thoroughly explain my options.

I would not use Earlysville Auto. I purchased a full set of tires them.. I was told they would rotate the tires every year for free. I took them in every year for a rotation. After four years I took my car in to Airport Road for a tire rotation on New Years Eve, because a storm was brewing. I was told the tires had never ever been rotated on the car. I also had the timing belt replaced at Earlysville Auto for the sixty thousand mile checkup. About a year later, while my car was in for some minor maintenance, without my permission, the timing belt was replaced again. The bill for that was about $350.00. I paid it, but I would never use them again. I wonder how much work they said the did on the car that was never done.

Moved here 3 years ago. Found consistently superior customer service and auto repairs at Earlysville Auto Center. Skilled technicians quickly diagnose problems, fix things right the first time, for less than competition. While at the center this week, mentioned that I was having trouble with my tractor. Owner Roger Perkins came by after hours to fix the problem - no charge. Pleased that Roger is expanding business and is refurbishing empty property across the street from his shop that has been empty for 3 years. Appreciate outstanding service from Earlysville Auto Center. Hope other service providers decide to invest in Earlysville as well.

Roger is amazing. He is honest and his pricing is beyond fair. I will not take my vehicles to anyone else. He has helped us out of a jam on more than one occasion.

My wife took her car to Earlysville Auto for a state inspection and to have one headlight bulb replaced (for her car it’s a whole ordeal that is super difficult to do on your own). She initially met Vincent, who was super helpful and polite, but then Roger went out of his way to be rude and condescending to her without provocation. Roger was not a fan of the fact we bought a bulb for his staff to replace, and took the opportunity to belittle my wife and interrogate her as to why she would dare to bring our own lightbulb. Vincent, continuing to be helpful, took her keys and went to get the car. Roger then immediately showed her the door, and she had to remind him that he needed her phone number in order to call when the car was done. After Roger wrote the number down, she was rushed out the door, without an offer for a ride home that we were informed by a friend was commonly offered by Earlysville Auto. So, my wife walked home on a busy highway. I got home from work, my wife informed me of all of this, so right off the bat I’m not super happy with Roger. I still opted to give him the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe she caught him at a weird moment. At around 5pm (three hours after the car was dropped off) I called Earlysville Auto to ask if the car was ready. I had the joy of speaking to Roger, who immediately began to sharply criticize my wife for “giving him the wrong phone number”. Roger then informed me the car was not ready, because he had his staff take the car apart and stop because he wanted to replace all of the bulbs in the car. I had to be very direct with Roger about only wanting my bulb put into the car. At the end of this call, Roger finally set a time for us to come pick up the car - the next day. I called Earlysville Auto one last time to ask about the price, concerned about whether or not the price would increase with it being stored overnight. I again spoke with Roger, who was again extremely rude, and would not stop constantly blaming my wife for giving him the wrong number, which is ridiculous because she knows her own phone number. This was corrected when I had Roger read off the number he had wrote, and it became very clear it was his fault for not writing the number properly. Roger then took the opportunity to move into demanding he be allowed to change the bulbs in the car, even though we had made it extremely clear what we wanted and what we were paying for. At the end of this unnecessarily long phone call, Roger admitted he was at fault, and agreed to apologize to my wife in person the next day. The next day came, and I went with my wife to assure no other issues would arise. Vincent was again helpful in processing everything, and is the only good thing to happen in this ridiculous scenario. Roger was in his shop, but did not come speak to us as he had agreed to. About 30 minutes later my wife did get an apology call from Roger, who called her correct phone number. We have no complaints about the rest of the crew; again, Vincent in particular was really helpful. But long story short, if you want to be condescended to and be forced to repeatedly establish what work you want done on your car, go to Earlysville Auto and see Roger.

I was fed up with garages doing half way repairs and ripping me off so I took the advice of several friends and neighbors and took my car to Earlysville Auto. Since then my repairs have been nothing less than perfect and the repair fees have always been reasonable. The employees are friendly and there have been times when they have gone above and beyond for me. The owner, Rodger Perkins, always explains in detail what the problem is and what the options are. Also, he will often give his opinion about what he thinks is best, even if it means less profit for him. I can always rest assured when I pick up my car up from Earlysville Auto that everything will be done to perfection and the work is guaranteed.

First used the shop when we lived in Earlysville 20 years ago and were so impressed we've been taking our vehicles there ever since, even though we now live 40 miles away. 10 years ago I took my 1985 Ford Ranger in for service. On the way home after picking it up, the alternator belt broke, leaving me dead on 250. I called Roger and he drove down with a new belt and fixed it for no charge--"no one leaves my shop and then breaks down." Roger can be gruff and he does not suffer fools, but he is an expert at what he does, honest (which is often not the case with auto shops) and straightforward.

I brought my car here looking to get a muffler replaced, belt tightened, tire rotation and a battery hold down. After a day I got a call back and was told $800 for the repairs on the muffler and that they would do the other stuff for me so I OK’d it. Well after a week I get a call back that the repairs had been done and my total was $1,233.27 for everything. I asked for an explanation to which Rodger said that they ended up putting in a lot more shop hours than they had anticipated. That’s fine and I get that you can run into problems, but I would have expected a call at least to inform me about this. Rodger was extremely rude over the phone (as many of the reviews have said) and not cooperative at all, pretty much yelled over me the entire time.I asked if we could work something out since I have another vehicle that needs work done to which he said , “I would never touch one of your cars again”. Don’t worry, you won’t. I have never been to a shop where they don’t inform you about the cost of repairs before they do them. I went to pay for the repairs(which I had to pay for with multiple cards since I was expecting a much lower cost) and Rodger complained about all the processing fees I was making him pay to run the cards. Very unfortunate considering I’ve been looking for a trustworthy mechanic for a while now.

We have taken our cars to Earlysville Auto for almost 30 years and couldn''t possibly say enough good things about Roger, Vince, and the rest of the guys at Earlysville Auto. Roger knows his stuff, is totally honest, and has NEVER done anything other than a GREAT job. I bought my present car through Roger and it's now over 211,000 miles and going strong. Good work and integrity are what you get at this shop.

I am a licensed aircraft mechanic, and have done almost all my own auto mechanic work for 45 years. Recently, my 2004 Trailblazer left my wife stranded in "limp home" mode near the airport, about a four mile drive to our house. It was running poorly, and I didn't want to risk any damage to the engine, so when we came limping into Earlysville I pulled it into Earlysville Auto. I had heard about this shop for years, and knew Roger and his team by reputation, but had never taken a vehicle there. As I mentioned, I do nearly all my own work. What it ended up being was a fairly complex electrical issue with the camshaft sensing circuit and solenoid. While diagnosing the problem, there were several other issues they were able to find (and resolve) that saved me quite a bit of money and frustration down the road. I can vouch for their integrity, skill, and most of all excellent communications. I was consulted on every part prior to them putting it on the vehicle. The overall repair cost came in hundreds of dollars below what I was expecting. As a mechanic myself, I can state with certainty that these folks know vehicles, and know customer service. I can't recommend this shop enough. What an outstanding experience!

The owner was my night in shining armor yesterday when my van died at the post office. I had called a tow truck, but their portable jumper cables didn’t have enough charge. Roger just happened to be there picking up his mail and he jumped right in offering his help. He got my van running so I could drive it to his shop, then got my battery replaced in less than 30 minutes. Quick service, fair pricing, and very personable!
