Bob and his crew are truly genuine people who care about honesty when it comes to car maintenance. Owning a car obviously comes with the cost of maintaining it, but finding an honest mechanic is quite hard to come by. Bob and his crew are the people you can trust. I found Ed Little Auto Service after reading through some bad yelp review on Culver City Toyota. I had taken my car into Culver City Toyota for an oil change and came back with a list of problems that appeared all at once. I had recently changed the passenger air cabin filter myself and sure enough, it came off as something that needed to be replaced immediately in addition to far more expensive items such as replacing the ball joints ($800+) dollars. I called Bob and even though he was booked till the next week, he said he would still do a quick inspection if I drove by and go line by line off the list provided by Toyota and tell me if the "issues" were actually really issues. Turns out, I didn't have a ball joint issue and everything seemed fine. I had changed the spark plugs myself the day prior which might have been the only thing that really needed to be replaced (car is at 130k miles). They even taught me how to check for certain things like how to check the braking fluid. While I wanted to pay them for their time and the inspection, they didn't even accept any money. Ed Little Auto Service is a gem of a shop and so are the people running it. I don't write all too many reviews but this place is worth telling people about!

Great service here and very honest! Ed Little changed the starter on my Honda Accord for a reasonable price and it works great! Saved me hundreds of dollars compared to what the Honda dealer was going to charge me. Support local shops!

As the other glowing reviews suggest, this place provides exceptional customer service! The dealer recommended a checklist of items to replace after an inspection that could easily total 1000's of dollars. When I took my car to Ed Little for a second opinion, they confirmed I didn't need any of the services that were recommended. They even found that the oil cap was left open and they didn't even charge me for a dime for their time!

I cannot rave about Ed Little enough. They are my go-to mechanic for everything. Normally trustworthy and auto shop don't go together. Ed Little is an exception. Here is the latest example: Through a fundraising auction, I got a 3-pack oil change from a local car dealer. Monday I got the oil change, and came out of the dealer with a list of about 10 items adding to at least $3000 that they said I needed done. I took my car and the list to Ed Little this morning at 7:20 AM. I was out of Ed Little at 8:50 AM with for a total cost of $90.03. My car didn't even need most of the services on the list, and Ed Little's costing for what it did need was so reasonable. Ed Little Auto Service is a gem.

I've repaired my car at this place 3 times (so far, for 3 different reasons). Fair prices. Satisfied result. I was stopping by a few times just for a quick look on some car issues. The place is quite popular. So, I'd usually make a phone call, explain my car's issue and schedule time to drop off my car. The price is always explained before the work is started, no "secret charges". Just don't bring your eggs to the chef and and don't ask him to cook it for you the way you like it, if you know what I mean.

I had come here upon the referral of my partner, who recommended Ed Little on the basis of them being consultative and will actually give you recommendations on what repairs are needed now for your car vs. what you should watch out for in the future. I had had issues with my push to start button and getting my car to start. Dennis was extremely consultative and looked at my car immediately, ran some battery tests and was able to save me time and money. It's rare these days to find an auto repair shop that won't seemingly gyp you. Dennis was honest, kind, friendly, and really helped me understand what was going on with my car. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you!

Was referred here by my old boss a couple years ago and have been satisfied with Ed Little’s service ever since. I have heard of scam stories by mechanics in LA (and experienced a few of those stories myself), but I’m glad that there are still honest mechanics like Bob and his crew in the city. I go to a nearby coffee shop (Tanner’s) whenever I drop my car off for service. Bob gets a lot of business so call ahead if you can so you can get on his calendar. I always appreciate his thorough, typed-out service receipts to show exactly what he did on your car. He also knows of where to get your smog checks if you need it for your car.

Honest Auto Repair! Amazing! first time here, they have me for life! I told them I needed brakes… They told me I did not! I have 50% more life on my brakes. Bob is fantastic, warming, and nice! We got our car checked, and the process went smoothly and quickly. Everything is fair price, and Bob also told us some issues we should pay attention to but not in urgency, so it saves us a bunch of money for now! Highly recommended for anyone near the area who has car issues to check this place out, especially for the UCLA university village community, which we belonged to and where we found others’ recommendations for Bob’s service.

The level of care here is outstanding! I first stopped by to have my car checked before a road trip, and Bob and Dennis reassured me it was in good shape. Then, just a few days before I was set to leave, my side mirror came off. Despite a packed schedule, Bob fit me in, and they installed a new mirror within just a few hours. Their work is fairly priced, and everyone I met was kind, competent, and honest. Thanks to them, I was able to go on my trip :) I can’t recommend them enough!!

This is the only place I go and I recommend it to everyone! The guys there are upfront and will walk you through any questions or concerns. When I got a laundry list of things that “had to be fixed” from the dealership, they looked at the list and told me there was only one item that actually needed to be fixed and a few others that could wait. Most of the list was bull. That was back in 2015 when I got my car and it still runs great. Now, they tell me when most repairs are coming up soon, so I can plan ahead, which is very helpful. I can’t sing their praises enough. Many out there will take advantage. These guys give it to you straight.

You really, truly won't find a better mechanic. I took my vehicle to Ed Little Auto years ago, and now live in Boston. Earlier today, after getting a very expensive diagnosis and quote from my current mechanic, I just really wanted to talk to Bob. So I called him. He answered and generously took the time to walk me through the quote (and validate my suspicion that it was severely premature), offered for me text him pictures I took, and gave his thoughts. I am so grateful for his help, years later and from across the country. I truly miss the peace of mind and wonderful service I always received here.

Brought in my 04 Honda CRV recently for a knock sensor code. Staff read the code for free, and were able to schedule me quickly and conveniently. When the first sensor still threw the light, despite everything else looking good, they replaced it again to ensure my car was safe to drive and working as intended. Can't recommend this shop enough! Fair prices, attentive and quick service, and friendly, no-nonsense staff that care. A genuine mechanic you can trust.

Been going here for years for my oil changes! They’re fantastic about telling me what truly needs to be fixed vs. what can wait. Really reasonable prices, especially compared to dealers’ repair centers, who keep recommending unnecessary work to be done. Just went today after calling them about a low oil warning light that appeared on my dashboard. I’m not due for an oil change for about a month, so they refilled my oil, no charge. 💕 I was back on the road in 10 minutes. Such kind & thoughtful service is why I’ll continue to get my oil changes here 👏

I happen to come across Ed Little Auto Service, as they were 0.2 miles away from where I realized my brakes weren’t working properly. I pulled in and asked for help and Dennis Heineman, the manager, came out and took a look. He saw my caliper was dangling off and I should to call the dealership and have them tow it, and fix it, as this was an issue from them. Dennis was easy to work with and very knowledgeable. Thank you very much! If I lived closer, I would come back anytime I needed a repair/service, as the honesty was great. He did not charge me and let me hang out around there until the car got towed. He wouldn’t even let me buy him lunch as a thank you. So hopefully this review will be helpful.

Can’t rave about Ed Little Auto Service enough. Totally honest, accommodating and reasonably priced. After checking my car, Bob said i didn’t need to fix my radiator immediately and that i still had a few months - told me what to look for, etc. He was very comforting and assuring that but I chose to have it replaced then and there as I was afraid something would happen at an inopportune time. He answered all my questions and led me to someone who can handle my weatherstripping. As a surprise, my car was ready hours before anticipated. I definitely recommend Ed Little all day, every day. A real gem. Thanks, Bob.
