I brought my car here for inspection. Pass or fail, THEY CHARGE you for the inspection. I didn't hear the mechanic say this and agreed to do the inspection. My car failed the inspection and I had to pay. I was told the car needs transmission mount and rear control arm. I bought my car from Ohio and it passed inspection there without any issues. I then took my car to another mechanic in Tonawanda and he said I wouldn't need any of these. Now anyone who is concerned, I'm leaving this review more than a year later (took my car here 12/1/22) and my car is working perfectly fine without any issues!! These people do WRONG and NONSENSE diagnosis to get money from you. Save the headache and check with other mechanics before you decide to give them your money.

I just had the worst encounter with a mechanic in my 53 years of living. I pulled up at a neighborhood mechanic shop (Frank's Express) to get a New York state emission inspection done, attempting to support the businesses near me instead of traveling to the other side of town. I asked Frank how much it would be to get an inspection done and was greeted with a demeaning yet child-like attitude, and was told it was $21 pass or fail. Ok, I turned around to retrieve my wallet, but Frank continued in a condescending tone, repeating the cost (as though I was unable to understand him), saying it was $21 pass or $21 fail, no matter what. Continuing rambling on about the cost, suddenly, in a sharp, surly manner, he expressed he was strictly by the book, like he expected me to beg him for special service or cheat on the inspection. His attitude continued to escalate the situation, and we began to argue. During the argument, he expressed that I should go take my business to a place where I had to make an appointment (both bays in the shop were empty). He short-handed lunged at me after I pointed at him during the argument, almost triggering a fight between the two of us. I believe this escalation was purposeful, as though he didn’t want to serve me as a customer, and my goal here is to document my experience with Frank and inform the entire Fillmore Ave community in case this is not an isolated incident, but I hope to ensure this will be an isolated incident. I feel I did not deserve this grossly disrespectful treatment as a person especially as a person who truly believes in doing unto others as I would like for them to do unto me, and I would never treat Frank or any person in such a baneful manner and my intention in writing this is to insure every one is on guard against a mechanic shop that could be selective and only for preferred customers.

Franks is reliable, affordable and most important trustworthy. He takes great care of my twelve year old minivan! It is easy to get into Franks- no need to wait a long time for an appointment and he always explains everything he does in detail and shows you the parts he replaced. I was referred to Franks by a triple AAA driver who is a customer there. I have been to MANY Auto shops only to find one solution led to many problems. Frank and his family of coworkers..they feel like my family too… are the best! Best at what they do. Respectful..knowledgeable..I could go on. They are straight forward with me regarding concerns for my Kia. The work is exceptional. Cost is manageable. All in all great place to have your car serviced!!! Go here! You will NOT leave unhappy!!!
