Had brakes done 8 months ago . Pulled apart today. Caliper were never lubricated. Wore one side of pads out to bare metal . Other side not worn. I could have thrown new pads myself wanted profesionaly done. Now have to do myself to get a compotant job myself. Of you drive by and see one car there you will no why. Don't waste your time

I tried Garry's for the first time and was quite impressed. He was quick to get me a quote and was able to get my car right in. I never felt that they were pushy and pointed out things I need to get done at some point and it wasn't anything new (brakes). I am kicking myself for not trying this place earlier. Nice to have a local place that is not a pushy chain. And the best part, its right across from Big Dip a great local ice cream place. How can you go wrong?

I've gone to Gary's since the first car I owned. He's the guy I go to when I need someone to trust. There have been a few times where my vehicle had to go to the dealer for the repair... didn't trust what I was being told by them... brought it to Gary and discovered the reality of the situation I was facing. If it weren't for Gary catching their "error" I wouldn't have gotten them to do all the work for free - for lying... something Gary won't do! When you're not an expert in cars this is a huge value. Garry's is a one-man shop. When you come to Garry with your auto-repair issues, you're talking to the mechanic himself, not a disinterested clerk behind a counter. Garry listens to your repair description, symptoms, etc., and may offer a preliminary opinion based on your information, but he won't commit himself to a repair estimate until he has had a chance to examine the vehicle. Before doing the repair(s) he will call you with his findings, make a recommendation for minimal work as well as suggested work, and give you the final shop cost, plus taxes, for each option. Your choice. No heavy upselling. When you give him the go-ahead, he'll tell you when you can expect the work to be finished, and call you when it is. Unlike many shops, Garry will return to you (without having to ask for them) the damaged parts and, if you're interested, briefly point out and explain the damages and/or defects. I recommend without reservation this local, honest, independent mechanic.

One day my car drove great, the next day terrible. One day forward and reverse, the next day only reverse. 🤦‍♀️ so I took it to Gary's AUTO on North Main St. in North Syracuse. Gary stated he does NOT do transmissions but was happy to check out the situation and would let me know what I would need to do. In less than 3 hours I got a call from Gary...all my parts are good and gear shifter cable was working fine BUT, a PENNY got lodged in the gear box along with some other loose change. Apparently it's pretty common for "stuff" to fall under the boot and get trapped in the gear box. Gary is Honest, Experienced, and speaks "WOMAN"really well (that means he Listens and is Respectful) and is the BEST LOCAL AUTO MECHANIC for my family! Thanks Gary for getting me back on the road again so quickly 💖
