In the spring of 2024 we had service bulletin TSB 23-01-076H performed on our 2007 hyundai santa fe. The bulletin is for faulty valve cover gaskets that leak on the alternator ultimately causing it to fail. At the time things were ok, cover fixed, alternator "cleaned". By fall 3 months later, the alternator failed.
I put a spare battery in the car and drove it to the dealership. Called the service dept and asked that they look at the service bulletin as the failure happened almost immediately after the cleaning and service. They said it could possibly qualify for replacement and would look at it to verify once it came in.
On the day of service the rep called/texted me that the "inspection" fee was $164. I disagreed and asked why they need to charge, they stated it was standard practice. They then told me the alternator would not be covered by the service bulletin. I responded by asking for a price to replace the alternator. Upon asking i was told that they could not give a price until the "inspection" was done and the fee for that paid.
I was very frustrated and disagreed but had no other option. So begrudgingly we moved forward. The completed inspection report confirmed what i knew, the alternator was failed. The quote or hours and parts were 4 hours plus alternator cost.
All in all, I felt that they should have simply quoted me a new alternator without a inspection fee.
Update - The manager reached out and called, he removed the inspection fee and has gone the extra mile to get the alternator warrantied by Hyundai under the bulletin. Also, he stated that this case was communicated to service coordinators for training purposes.
What started out as a less than perfect situation has had a very good outcome due to the attention and dedication of the Service Manager. Thank you!

Brought our car to get fixed for the same issue 3 separate times and it has not gotten fixed. We called ahead and asked for a new windshield to be ordered so they could install, and they “forgot”. Still kept the car for 6 hours and did absolutely nothing. We live 2 hours away from here so we have to take PTO to come get it serviced with this dealer. Pathetic service.

This is my first car I’ve bought through Gateway, and I will forever be a customer. The customer service I’ve experienced throughout all aspects has been nothing short of phenomenal. Alan helped me pick out my car and explained all the features in detail. He helped me through a very stressful time after my accident in securing a new car within a short timeframe and he was so patient with me while I was figuring out financing and helped me set up my Bluelink. He knew what car I would like within minutes of meeting me and my Kona is perfect for me ❤️ Lee was awesome in the finance department for helping me get a payment that was in my budget.
