Kudos to Gears ~ I highly recommend them! Our truck transmission went out on I-75 between Ringgold and Tunnel Hill around 4:00pm on the Mon. before New Years Eve. I was able to get off the interstate and roll into Circle K. An employee in the store called Gears and was told to have the truck towed there and they would look at it first thing in the morning. True to their word, they looked at it, quoted me a very reasonable price and had us on the road Thursday. To have been so unfortunate as to lose our transmission, we were very fortunate to have it happen where it did. Great group of guys!

When the transmission started slipping in my truck and was looking for someone to rebuild it to a heavy duty transmission, I was recommended to Gears. They told me that it would take roughly 3 weeks to get it taken care of which I was fine with. I rather them take their time and get it done correctly the first time since my truck is my daily. They were great about keeping me updated on price and progress and my truck has pulled like dream the last 50k miles. My truck will never go back to another shop other than Gears. I called and talked to them last week about pricing out some Rough Country parts for it and they got back to me the next day with price and availability. Looking forward to continuing to do business with them.

We were heading to Ohio from Florida, pulling our travel trailer, when we started getting rough and jerky shifts, which put the truck into limp mode. I got off at the next exit and started searching for transmission shops...Gears came up as closest and highest rated, and Stephen answered immediately. I explained our situation and he assured us that we could get the truck looked at that day, so we limped on in. Sure enough, after his techs checked it out, we needed a rebuild, which wasn't a real surprise, as we had 135k miles on it already. These guys are solid professionals, even driving us to pick up the only tow-capable rental truck in the area, so that we could continue our trip. This was a Friday afternoon, they started on it the next day...had me ready to go Wednesday when we got back into Chattanooga. Between the financing option, 3yr-100k mile warranty, and the way Stephen and the rest of the techs treated us, I've never been as happy about a major repair! These guys are a 5-star, first class outfit that I'd be happy to recommend and to do business with again. Thanks again, Gears Transmission.

Gears Transmission is one of the most phenomenal transmission shops in the Southeast, if not in the country. They offer Nationwide warranties on the work that they do, they back up the work even if you're out of state, and have a network of partnered shops across the country to keep your vehicle serviced in the event any issues arise. They have worked on multiple vehicles for myself and my family, and stood behind their work 110%. They have beat their competition with their honesty, integrity, and their warranties. I would not recommend anyone to go anywhere else but Gears for Transmission issues.

The transmission in our RV went out while we were traveling through the north Georgia/Chattanooga area August 19, 2025. Monday August 25, 2025, we arrived at Gears Transmission and Complete Auto Service in Ringgold, Georgia. CJ and Jessica the kind, gentle, accommodating owners of Gears Transmission was where God had the answer/provision to our transmission, but not only to our transmission but an electrical issue that was causing our transmission failure. We give thanks to the Lord and CJ and Jessica as well as Steve Travis the Service Writer that made sure we were as comfortable as could be while we waited for CJ to rebuild our transmission and Jacob Hicks, Chris Bearden and Tyler Phillips the technicians who worked several days long hours trouble shooting for the electrical shortage.

Stephen and Steve-O were absolute gems to me. I was quite frazzled when I called Gears because another shop that didn’t do transmission work had my car, and I didn’t know how to get it to them. Gears handled ALL of it for me. 5/5 Once I found out I needed a new transmission, they told me it would be 2-4 weeks. It did take about five weeks, but Stephen was honest and explained why it was taking longer. I know they did their best get the job done ASAP. I also called so many times, but Stephen always welcomed my call. I never felt like I was a bother. 5/5 When I got my car back, there was a creaking noise coming from the front end. I brought it back to them, and they told me what was wrong and even had my car transported to another shop without me having to do anything. 5/5 This is THE shop to choose for any transmission work. Thanks to Stephen, Steve-O, and mechanics of Gears. I hope to continue driving my little Ford Edge for a long time thanks to y’all!

Outstanding customer service! Stephen went above and beyond to take care of my family and I in our time of need. We were on vacation when the transmission started acting up and went into limp mode while making our way up a mountain. A quick google search and we found Gears Transmission to be highly rated and highly recommended. I called and explained the situation to Stephen and they made a game plan that took me by surprise. I was sure that this would be at least a week long repair and under normal circumstances I’m sure their backlog is great just from the high quality of work being performed, but they wanted to make sure I could drive home in my truck and they made it happen. The truck has never ran so smoothly. Now I have a high quality transmission and piece of mind that it will last. I can’t say thank you enough for they way they took care of my family during this very stressful situation. Thank you to everyone at Gears Transmission!

Late July 2025, my wife and I were travelling from Florida to Indiana in an RV we had just recently purchased. Several hours into the trip, the transmission started acting up so we pulled into a rest area just south of Ringgold, GA, to spend the night; this was a Tuesday night. The next morning I started making phone calls to locate a repair facility that could look at our RV"s transmission. Let me tell you, if you're going to break down anywhere, this is the area to do it. Everyone I spoke too that morning was extremely friendly, sympathetic and helpful... to the point of contacting other businesses in the area in an effort to help get us back on the road. This ultimately pointed us to GEARS. I spoke with Stephen, the assistant manager at GEARS, and he told me that if I could get the RV there they would fit us in to look at the transmission. True to his word when we arrived early Wednesday afternoon they immediately got us in and diagnosed the problem. To our demise the transmission was in fact failing. We came to an agreement on a price and timeline to get the transmission repaired, which was an extremely tight timeline. They did everything they promised and then some! They had us back on the road early Friday afternoon... that's right, two days after our arrival with a freshly rebuilt transmission for less than he had quoted me. Not to mention the rebuilt transmission came with a 3yr/100,000 mile nationwide warranty!!! An impressive feat since they had to order parts. What was even more impressive than the transmission were the people!!! We were travelling with an orphaned three week old kitten and had run out of formula for her. Stephen came to the hotel we were staying at that evening just to take me to a local pet store to get the kitten some formula. Furthermore, they allowed us to store the food in our fridge in their shop refrigerator until the repair was completed... and no one touched it! They gave us a complete tour of their facilities and as a mechanic myself (albeit a backyard mechanic :), I was truly impressed with the capabilities they have, the cleanliness of their facilities, the friendliness and extreme professionalism everyone we encountered at GEARS displayed. Finally, the RV needed an alignment and Stephen got us in at another repair facility, Duke Tire and Off-road, immediately after picking up our RV right around the corner from GEARS. As far as we are concerned GEARS is a TOP NOTCH repair facility... all the way around!!! As for the remainder of our trip, we made it to Indiana, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia and back home to Florida without another problem. If you need an automotive repair business with GREAT people and honest pricing, GEARS is the place!!! Thank you all so much, you made a nightmare of a situation as pleasant as possible given the circumstances!

After leaving an honest review of my experience at the shop they tried to pay me to remove my review so I have added a screenshot of the email and the invoice where I had to have another shop check their work I had a transmission rebuilt approximately a year ago. Paid for the job up front they ordered the parts and called to tell me when to bring the car to them. On drop off they told me 1 week. 5 weeks later I got my car back. When I got it back the front end was out of alignment, the A/C would randomly stop working and the coolant fans would continuously run after the car was shut off and the exhaust was noticeably louder than when we dropped it off. I took the car back to them and the fixed the alignment and exhaust. They couldn’t figure out the other issues, so I scanned it with my computer and determined the cooling sensor was bad. Upon removing it found it to be cracked. Fast forward a year later during an oil change found 1 transmission bolt gone, 2 completely out laying on top of the bell housing, 3 more extremely loose. Called them to see if they would recheck everything and they tell me to drop it off and they will get to it in a 2-3days. This is my only car I can not leave it for 2-3 days. I let them know this is my only car and they say Oct 6 is the closest appointment they can give. This is unacceptable when it cost $5,000 to have a job done it should be done timely and correctly.

I cannot express how friendly, kind, informative, and just REAL the people at Gears transmission are. Every conversation on the phone and in person had me smiling. I HATE having to get my car worked on especially when you move to a new city and don't have any idea who to trust. They (Stephen)explained the cost, how my transmission fluid works, and how to prevent future problems. Instead of feeling like a customer I truly felt like I was talking with a freind. I will be back for future service. Thank you for making my move to this beautiful town an enjoyable one. Feeling positive that this town has honest caring businesses that care about their customers. Thank you and bless you Stephen.

Absolutely 10/10 recommend! I had called around last year when my transmission went out in my truck and they had the best warranty by a long shot. I have an older truck so I had to have the transmission rebuilt. I had to put the warranty to the test unfortunately as it started slipping. I was nervous because a lot of businesses will fight you to honor their warranty. Not Gears! They were closed when I dropped it off this past Saturday. While I was filling out my info to put in the drop box, the G.M.,Steven, was pulling in and came right over to see what was going on. I explained my frustration about it going out and he was so understanding and told me they would get right to it on Monday morning when they opened. I received a call from Stevo early Monday afternoon, telling me they had already pulled it and had already started on it. He told me they hoped to have it back on Wednesday or Thursday which really impressed me. I was stunned when he called the next morning, Tuesday, to tell me they were wrapping up with it and I could get it today. When I got over to get the truck Stevo did a walk around with me and explained what they did when they found out it was one they had just rebuilt the year before. He said the owner CJ pulled the team over to get it started right away. They even replaced one of my battery terminals that was faulty because they felt bad for my inconvenience of bringing it back in. I was handed the key and told to let them know if I had any other issues. That is what I call integrity and excellent customer service. Like I said to open, I will give a 10/10 recommendation for the whole team at Gears! I would like to thank them again for taking such good care of me!

My husband's truck was making weird noises and we were it was the transmission. We were worried about the cost and started looking around to see where we could take it. After about a week or so of searching, we decided to go with Gears Transmission. They did say it would take about 3 weeks or so for the truck to be ready. I would call them at least once a week to see how the process is going and Steve would gladly give me updates. It did take them about a month to fix the truck, but that was ok. As we were picking up the truck, they apologized to us for taking so long and thanked us for our patience. We were told they are a bit understaffed and there is a lot of work to be done, but they got it done. Before we left, we were told to call or come back if there are any issues with the truck. I would 100% go back to them if something happens to the truck again. I understand some people don't have the patience to wait, but that doesn't mean Gears Transmission is a bad place to take your vehicle. Thank you to everyone who worked on the truck!

This nightmare has been a year in the making so I'll try not to make a diary entry out of this and stick to the main points. Brought my truck in for a rebuild and was quoted 2 weeks on labor. Paid $4k. They had my truck for 3 months. During that time communication was terrible. countless new estimated times were given and broken, straight up lies at times and all the phone calls were one way. I don't think they called once unless it was to call me back. When I finally get the truck back its hard to shift into reverse, and has a failed carrier bearing which is immediately audible after driving over a few dips. They said the shift was normal(it's wasnt) and were going to charge me to fix the carrier bearing because it wasn't part of the transmission. It was fine before. I had to argue out of paying for fixing the carrier bearing and was offered my first transmission service free. So they have the truck another week and get it back and realize they didn't secure an 02 sensor harness and left a vent tube hanging nearly touching the ground. The drive shaft tore up the o2 sensors so had to bring it back a 3rd time. At this point i happened to need my knock sensors done and they did the labor without charge. finally get a few months of functionality still with the rough reverse but I just didn't want to fight about it. Until it starts not wanting to get out of 2nd gear and having hard shifts, sometimes wouldn't go into lockout. Over the next few months i brought it in a 4th 5th 6th time but they couldn't recreate it. Finally had a code show up for a solenoid and took it in. Still couldn't find it after keeping truck for another few weeks. I had to wait til it was actively faulting when i was on my way to a job to bring it in. This time they had it for a week to fix it. During this time I had asked them to install a manifold clamp and recheck an exhaust code to rule it out before i bought a new catalytic converter. They put the clamp on, cleared the code n didn't follow up. Code came back immediately and was ignored when I tried to contact. Good news the rough shift into reverse is gone, despite orignially failing to even acknowledge it as an issue. And for now the transmission seems to be ok a week later. Bad news is when I was replacing my oil pan gasket tonight I noticed the dust cover missing from the bell housing where the starter seats, leaving the flex plate exposed. I tried, I mean really tried to let them earn a redemption story out of all this but there isn't one to be had. My truck is my only vehicle and its how i make a living. I lost thousands in revenue from not being able to work, had to borrow vehicles where I could, which stressed every personal and professional relationship I have to near breaking, and now have had a year of nothing but stress, zero peace of mind, undue expense and a new problem every time I get it back. This was, and continues to be the worst consumer experience of my life.

My transmission went out on my 2007 Chevy Impala "Serenity". I got quotes from several places for replacing or rebuilding & was given outrageous prices. Called BNB & their price to rebuild was reasonable. Also, the 100,000 miles/3 year warranty boosted my confidence in their service. It took about 2 months for the rebuilf but it was well worth the wait. My "Serenity" drives like NEW! I'm so happy I trusted my car with BNB Gears. They didn't try to get over on me and even told me about some other issues with my car that they only charged me for the parts. I recommend them to ANYONE having transmission issues. You'll need a little patience but it will be well worth the wait once they get your vehicle back on the road!!!

Dropped off my Ford Ranger 2 weeks ago for a transmission rebuild. From day 1 it has been a great experience. Got it done on time and on budget. Drives like a new truck and have a great warranty. Call Steve and let him and his team take care of you.
