I contacted Gearstar about getting a new 4l80 stage III for my LS3 C10, they told me they were 6 weeks out but Ryan asked me how soon I needed it. Told him I would really like it in 2-3 weeks if possible, well 3 weeks later my new transmission was delivered. I had a custom LS3 swap build with my 1969 AMC Rambler Rogue that required a transmission to handle the 600hp output for street and strip, while dealing with the Las Vegas summer heat. Once I reached out to Gearstar through their website, I was immediately connected with Ryan who helped me assess the best options for my specific situation. Once I settled on the 4L80E Phase three transmission and the matching converter, the transaction and communication was first class, Not only did they build the transmission to my specs, but they also sent me updated communication during the process as well as live videos of my transmission being dyno tested. Shipping was prompt and the transmission was packed with care. Ryan addressed my follow up questions once I received the transmission and his communication was flawless. I now have over 1500 trouble-free miles on the Rambler and it has been on Power Tour and ran hard at the dragstrip with no issues. I am going back to Gearstar when I start my next project!

If needed, GearStar provides everything needed to install your new transmission, bolts, cooler, fluid and even Loctite for the converter bolts. The Team of experts at Gearstar Transmissions worked closely with us as we built our 1971 Chevy C10 full custom Truck. They designed & built a 700R4 to match our GM Crate 400HP motor & Moser rear-end gearing to provide us with the perfect balance between competitive Autocross and highway performance. The project took us 5 years to finally complete the build and drive the truck for the first time. After our first test drive we noticed a slight hesitation going into 4th gear Lock Up. A quick call to their Tech Support diagnosed the issue as a small adjustment needed to the Vacuum Lock Up System switch. They promptly sent us a new replacement Vacuum Switch and recommended that we turn the adjustment screw 2 turns counterclockwise. They were correct! That was exactly what we needed to do and the transmission performs awesome and strong! This is a great company to purchase a performance transmission from. I purchased a 4L65e stage 4 for my 1979 Camaro. I had a few questions and Ryan was there every step of the way from purchase to after installation! Since this was my first time dealing with an electronic transmission he pointed me in the right direction with the correct transmission control unit. After installation Ryan was still there to help me fine tune torque converter lock up and shift firmness. This company will return calls and answers the phone. I love it!! Oh and the transmission came packaged perfect without issues.

I bought a Transmission from Gearstar . I have to say you are not getting a POS TCI Transmission, you are getting a very well built Transmission. This Transmission was worth every penny . I bought a Gearstar 4r70w from Summit Racing bolted up to a Blueprint 302 for "Rusty" my 73 Bronco. I want to thank Ryan at Gearstar for great support. I have had 2 issues Ryan has helped me with. Purchased fully built level IV TH400 with a reverse shift manual valve body for my 1995 obs Chevy build! We installed this transmission behind our 427 LS with a blower and the transmission doesn’t skip a beat shifts perfect and takes all the abuse we throw at it! The thing that sold me on gearstar was the thoroughness of their sales team! These guys are seriously awesome and have wonderful customer support! I didn't know much about transmissions or my 4l60e going into it but they helped me get the details they needed to build it to my truck. Then I had some troubles with my tuning and aftermarket ecu that was already on my truck, which they also helped me get it tuned correctly and safely. All responses were very timely and very professional! If I'm ever in need of a performance trans again, I'll be coming back. Purchased a Stage 4 4L60E. (I only have a picture of the old one out)

So this is my 2nd Hot Rod(built) transmission from Gearstar. Not only do they build a GREAT transmission, but they have customer service that goes beyond the competition. I had issues with my install because I put in all Holley EFI and had Holley's transmission controller. Ryan at Gear Star took multiple calls and emails to help me figure out MY problem. It wasn't the transmission, was at my end of install. Then at GoodGuys in Columbus we spoke and he new who I was and even gave me a really cool tshirt and talked to me about the truck. So I give these guys a Big 5 Star review and will check with them on all my transmission needs, not just the street rods!

I recently purchased a Chevrolet 4L65E Level 4 Performance Transmission from GearStar for my 1968 Camaro restomod project, pairing it with a 500 HP LS3. GearStar helped me select the ideal Yank converter stall speed basedon my specs, and their technical support was outstanding throughout the process. Any hiccups along the way were quickly resolved. I worked directly with Ryan on many of the details, and I can confidently say this is a very well-built transmission. Initially, I was hesitant about working with an out-of-state company, but that concern quickly faded. GearStar was easy to reach and maintained excellent communication from start to finish. I chose a Holley ECU to control both the engine and transmission, and GearStar was able to configure the transmission ICF based on my setup. This was my first time using an electronic transmission in one of my restorations, and their expertise made it easy. The transmission arrived securely crated with a high-quality cooler included to keep everything happy. With a bit of fabrication, I was able to fit the cooler into my build—no small feat considering the RS grille with hideaway headlights on the '68 Camaro has very little clearance! But after some custom fabrication, it fit perfectly. Thanks again to the GearStar team for your product and support. I have zero regrets and would absolutely recommend you to anyone tackling a serious build.

I can’t begin to take ALL of the credit for this 68 Nova of mine, nor would I dare try and take credit for this beast of a transmission; Gear Star 2004r Stage IV. My 427 stroker pushes 580 HP N/A, this transmission isn’t even phased. With a 2800 stall, I’m able to make solid launches! What I truly love about this company is not only the solid transmission, but a solid company that backs their product. Customer service is top notch and very responsive. Had a fantastic experience working with Gearstar Performance from start to finish. Zach, Ryan and team helped me spec out a 4L60E rated for my 383 build in my 92 Camaro. The team was able to produce the transmission with the tail house provision for the torque arm to mount. When we went to install the new Gearstar Transmission it went in perfectly where the 700R4 had previously been mounted without any modifications. With the new transmission installed, my Camaro is going through the gears flawlessly. This was a huge upgrade! Highly recommend Gearstar.
