I am the original owner of a 12 year old BMW 328i with 44,000 miles. In the past I’ve taken it to a repair shop in Norwood that specializes in foreign auto repairs. About a year ago, I got a warning, “drive train malfunction, maximum power not available”. The repair shop worked on the issue and after paying $3000, I thought the problem was resolved. Unfortunately, a few weeks later I began getting the same error message. I found that if I shut the car off and waited a full minute and restarted the car, the error message went away and the car drove fine, no issue with accelerating. Unfortunately, the drivetrain fault was happening several times a week. I Googled possible solutions for the drivetrain malfunction warning, and it seemed it could be something as simple as the battery or a wiring issue. Took the car back to the shop in Norwood, they couldn’t explain why restarting the car resolved the issue. They suggested another round of very expensive repairs. I decided I needed to take my car to a different repair shop to figure out what was really causing the problem. Thankfully, I found Gerardo’s in Roslindale. They were able to finally diagnose the problem and fix it. Dave, was very knowledgeable and patient. As an older woman, it can be very stressful dealing with auto mechanics. It was very reassuring for me that as the repairs were taking place, Dave sent me videos of what they had found and showed what need to be done to fix the problem. The crew at Gerardo's embodies the spirit you look for when entrusting your car to be serviced. Knowledge and efficiency are two of their greatest tools in their toolbox. They've built a reputation off of their hard work and they've certainly earned it. I've had two cars now in the span of the last couple of years that I trust to no one but them, and every time they deliver alongside excellent communication along the way and a customer first mentality that you won't typically find at many mechanics out there. They helped me track down a hard part to find for a repair, did so expeditiously and without sacrificing the quality of the item and the hard work required.

David, Emma and Riley were great! I brought my X5 50i in for an oil change, new spark plugs and new air filters. The work was completed in 24hrs and Gerardo's offered a better price for all those services compared to another shop that I researched. Riley was really helpful in setting up my initial appointment and getting me quotes on the work I needed. Emma helped handle the paper work on the day that the work was to be done. David kept me in the loop on things as my car was being serviced and also arrangemented for me to pickup my car during non-business hours. The staff all around was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I will be back for more work going forward. My car is currently driving like a dream now! Thank you, Jonathan

These fellas (shoutout David) worked their butts off to diagnose an intermittent engine issue on my VW…complicated by car mods and repairs (done elsewhere) from a prior accident. They worked through it, fixed it, car is driving as good as new. They communicated with me transparently every step of the way. Even though I brought them a basket case of a car, they did not charge me over their usual diagnostic rate plus a very reasonable parts/labor costs, I even asked them to charge me more to because I felt it was unfair to the amount of effort they put in but they refused to charge me more. Honest is an understatement. Don’t be scared by the Lambos and RRs on the lot either. These are good, knowledgeable guys who respect and value their customers. I will be back (if they’ll have me)

Wouldn't WASTE my time again. I inquired about a vehicle they were selling. First a generic email responded. After a few day, I had to reach out to Emma to see if the car was available and ask a few questions about it. At first, the communication was there. Emma answered most of my questions. Once I requested a video of FaceTime to view the vehicle, that when the dodging started. First was they were busy, then it was passing my number to someone else because they know about the car more. Never heard back from anyone. Emma stopped responding. Horrible customer service which is probably the vehicle hasn't sold or there is a major issue with it. Would have appreciated if they were forward with me instead of ghosting me.

The first time I went to Gerardos 20 years ago. I knew after repairing my Jaguar this shop was the best around. The mechanics have always been trustworthy, reliable and a fair affordable price. Once our cars in my family are repaired we have never had to return, until general maintenance. Our family trust our Porsche, Mercedes, BMW 2007, that the mechanics have kept on the road in mint condition and any other referrals to vehicles for friends and family! I bought my last three cars there and have had Gerardo’s service them, even though I am now a two hour drive away. The work they do is worth every travel minute. Al has the best crew anywhere and Emma keeps the jobs running efficiently. They helped me get my current car and I couldn’t be more pleased.
