Sartell Granite City Tire & Auto is wonderful!! I’ve purchased tires a couple of times and always get my oil changed here. I’ve needed some other repairs recently on my aging car. The work was good as I was just getting my brakes and rotors done. But I sat there in the lobby with my car sitting out there for 30 mins waiting. I thought I was going to be contacted when it was done. I never had a call, text or email that it was ready. And they had the right number as they called me earlier that day. I’m not giving a one star because I’m going to give the benefit of the doubt as they may have misdialed my number. Maybe I was just the idiot for sitting there waiting instead of going up to the counter and asking? I’m hoping it was just a bad one off thing.

I wish my experience with this store was as favorable as prior reviewers. I ordered and paid for 4 tires through Goodyear and set up an appt for Tuesday, 11/21/2023. Goodyear was offering a substantial rebate by purchasing the tires this way. I dropped off the car at 9:00 am—called them at 1:30 pm to check on my car and was told they only had 2 tires—not 4–and it would be another hour. Along with the tires I had other service work done. The next day my check engine light came on. My husband checked my car and found a hose and a clamp were not connected. I went to the store to show the quality of work, spoke to one gentleman who just stared at me. He brought the manager up and I repeated my complaint again. Instead of just a simple apology, he told me it was my fault there were only 2 tires on hand because I ordered them on line. He said they did not know this until I brought my car in and they could only find 2 tires—again repeating it was because I ordered them on line. I asked why someone couldn’t call-send a text-whatever when my massive error was discovered and he just kept saying “we have no way of knowing how many tires there were until we had your car.” When I showed him photographs of the hose and the clamp, again no apology; “we’re human” and then said I was threatening him because I told him I was going to post a review. It wasn’t a threat, sir; I TOLD you that was my plan. Was I upset? Of course! I asked him if their human error would have left me stranded or cause me to pay for a service call, would he cover the expense and got the same stare.😐 Addendum to owner: I have the conversation recorded on my phone and would be happy to post it. If you were present and heard how upset I was, why didn’t you come out? My fear now is making sure the tires were put on correctly and all lug nuts are tightened correctly. ALSO I don’t think you were heroic by finding two additional tires. I ORDERED and PAID FOR 4 tires. Why would anyone be impressed that you found two more tires. Again—operative word is that I ALREADY PAID for FOUR tires—you have no excuse.

Really good experience from the team at GCT&A. Went in to get a tire rotation on one set of wheels and potentially winter tires for another set and they recommended to wait two more months and then come back to deal with both of them. My daughter (19) came in to have a tire patched. The hole was in the tread. They refused to patch it and told her she needed new tires and nearly sold her a $1100 set of tires for a passenger car. Luckily she had the wherewithal to call me first before she agreed. I had just looked at her tires and knew they were still good. There is still plenty of tread left before the wear bars. I talked to the tech and said just patch the tire. He refused saying it was "too close to the sidewall". It was still in the tread. He tried to sell me on cheaper tires that weren't the same size... i refused again... He put the tire back on, billed me for time, and I brought the car to a different mechanic who told me the tire was easily patchable, he patched it, and he said they were definitely not in need of replacing yet. SHAME ON GRANITE CITY for trying to take advantage of a young lady who didnt know better. I will never bring anything I own back to them and would advise against anyone else patronizing them as well. Tire was patched by a more trustworthy mechanic and the car has snice been to Kansas and back without issue. Photo shows where the slow leak was located.

To myself, I am a new car owner! I have received all types of work being done to my vehicle through Granite City. Not ever had they left me a stray with non of my questions being answered that I've asked through the years I've been coming here. To be honest, even on the days were I am paranoid about the smallest and weirdest sounds coming from my vehicle they have always had the time to help and figure it out and put my mind at ease with honest diagnosis. Easy to work with. Transparency billing. Have not let me down yet.
