★★★★★ So grateful to find this place!! We were heading back to Centeral Oregon from Silverwood when the radiator on my Subaru Tribeca cracked. We called on a Saturday morning at 9:00 am and explained the situation to Jared. Two moms and four kids stranded out of state. He told us to come on down and had me back on the road by 2:00 pm. He had to order the parts from Coeur d'alene and we got to enjoy the town while we waited. I really appreciate Hayden Lake Automtove and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

★☆☆☆☆ This review's purpose is to warn people looking for where to take your vehicle when it needs to get fixed or checked-up. My car was dropped off during after hours as the owner told me was that was totally fine. I then didn't receive a call for about 2 or 3 weeks even though I had left a detailed note on the front seat with my phone number. I then called and left a message, rather irritated that I hadn't even been notified about anything, asking for an update on my car. It seemed that this message was what prompted the shop to finally start working on my car b/c soon after I then got a voicemail saying my car was ready. I waited to pick it up on my next day off-which was about a week away. I went to get the car and the mechanic told me he had no clue what was wrong with it. I had towed the car to his shop because it wouldn't start, even after we purchased a new battery and had checked the fluids. The mechanic told me he ran a few tests and the car randomly started. So he admitted that he fixed nothing yet charged me $109. I would have been fine paying for any labor/time put into the car but when the mechanic's answer is "I don't know what's wrong with it, but hey, it runs" and that the time frame was so long without even giving me a notice I thought he should have at least given me a price cut if not all my money back. I paid the bill and drove 20 mins home. The next morning the tire was flat so I tossed my studs in to go get them swapped over. 4 minutes into my drive the car died and wouldn't start for 30 seconds. Thankfully it started because I was on a busy road right in the middle of traffic. I then called the mechanic that had "worked" on the car and I obviously was a little frustrated. I told him my car died and while he started telling me the "tests" he did on it the car dies again, while I'm driving! I tell him my car just died again while I was driving and he gives me a tow number and tells me he'll look at it when he gets a chance......No "sorry, no apologies, nothing...So after experiencing terrible customer service and questionable service on my car I decide to take it somewhere else (after my car wouldn't start for 20 mins while sitting in the middle of the road-thankfully it started up again though). I took it to European Machine which has been night and day considered to Hayden Lake Automotive. They gave me time frames and met them. They diagnosed the problem and the car is now getting fixed properly. Night and day difference...Talking with numerous friends and family of my experience they told me I should ask for some or all of my money back. I left some messages for the mechanic and he basically said no and in one message even admitted to not even listening to the full length of one of my messages-great customer service. Hopefully this guy doesn't treat all his customers like that. In the end, if you'd like a long wait with no notification and then to get charged and have your car die on you soon after then go to Hayden Lake Automotive. Last but not least, I took the receipt that Hayden Lake Auto gave me to the new shop I went to and they scanned it over and handed it back and said they didn't need it. I think their exact words were "I don't know what's wrong, but here's a bill!". I hope this saves you time, money, energy, and frustration.
