Our rental was for 10 days. The car needs new windshield wipers; if I had gone through rain I would have had to pull over and wait for the rain to pass. The windshield wipers are a necessary aspect of safe driving. I REALLY shouldn't have to explain this to a business that rents vehicles. The front tires need replaced and would have been terrible for anything other than sunny weather. Again, another aspect of safe driving. The car was mostly clean, it's what I'd expect from my 8 and 10 year old-as in, limited attention to detail. An oil change is needed as well, specifically 5 days into my 10 day rental period. It's clear maintenance doesn't regularly occur on this vehicle. Poor customer service overall- between 2 other customers and me at check in. DO BETTER.

Service wasn’t what I expected even after my reservations were made online a week before pick up time. Upon arrival they had no idea of what car I was going to be driving the guy at the counter kept walking in and out of the building multiple times seemed a little confused and when I finally got the vehicle it was given to be unwashed. I will not be returning.

We had a vehicle in the shop due to an insurance claim and they had a great, new vehicle ready when we arrived. The process was great an easy. The drop off was equally easy. We even got a call from Xavier letting us know that we left a garage door opener in the car. Everyone we dealt with was very patient and kind. Very good experience

I wish I could give 0 stars. We called this location and hour before we were going to arrive, like requested by hertz, to let them know we'd be there to get the car. When we arrived, there was a sign on the door stating that no one was there because they were doing a car delivery. The lights were all off and no one was answering the phone. Ok that's fine, we waited 15 min or so and then my husband decided to try the door. Low and behold it was unlocked, Trayjon was sitting at his desk in the dark, 2 business phones by his computer, doing NOTHING. Just trying not to have to work the last 30 min before The store closed. What a frustrating experience. He was nonchalant the entire time like he was so put out that he had to help a reservation with a car. Be better TrayJon.

I highly recommend avoiding this location and choosing Enterprise or Budget instead. The customer service here is extremely disappointing, especially for a business that should prioritize customer relations. Corporate should seriously consider providing additional HR training for this location. The staff’s approach to customers is poor, and the communication during the checkout process is unacceptable. If I could, I would give this place zero stars, but unfortunately, one star is the lowest option. Hertz, it might be beneficial to have your staff read and learn from “Exceeding Customer Expectations: What Enterprise, America’s #1 Car Rental Company, Can Teach You about Creating Lifetime Customers.”

10/10 experience. I would suggest to confirm with any location before hand if they have a car available before you go and make a reservation. I did this and reserved same day. The process was smooth and was in a car within 30mins of my pickup time. Trey is your guy if you need help. He has great customer service and makes sure you have everything you need for your rental.

I am not typically one to write poor reviews but we unfortunately did not read reviews before booking here and greatly regret it. DO NOT BOOK HERE. We had upgraded our vehicle to a larger vehicle over a week before we were picking up our rental. Only to get there and for them to tell us they did indeed not have the vehicle and basically could not help us. So we had to scramble calling other places to find a rental. We were driving across the country that day and needed to be on the road quickly, the whole delay really effected our travel plans. Extremely disappointed. Book at another location.

I've now rented the same Tesla twice from this location for about a week each time. I know everyone has different experiences but mine was fantastic. I'd made a rental reservation through my employer's portal. Hertz was going to give me a Kia. I ended up asking "What about that Tesla over there?". Turns out, it was the same price per day. I've always been interested in Teslas and here was my opportunity to try one out. Now I'm looking at buying one. Tray was professional, friendly, and helped me out with some fees that showed up which weren't supposed to be there. William was very helpful as well.

Absolutely awful experience. I showed up well before closing time and was left standing there for 20 minutes without so much as a hello. When someone finally decided to come out of the back and acknowledge my existence, they refused to help me because it was “after hours” — even though their own negligence caused the delay! Unbelievable. This location clearly does not care about its customers. Completely disrespectful and lazy service. Save yourself the frustration and take your business anywhere else.

Would not have chosen this place, but had to use because of the dealership. Our vehicle is in the service department of our dealership and they use this rental car company. Our dealership brought us over and told us everything had already been sent to the rental company and all we needed to do was grab and go. Unfortunately once our dealership left, the rental company made us provide all of the information to them again, everything the dealership had already obtained and sent over. Ok, no big deal, we gave it and went out to the car. The rental car was only 3/4 full, again not that big of a deal, they said to bring back with the same amount of gas. Where there was an issue was when we noticed all of the damage on the vehicle. Multiple scratches, dents, broken running boards, chip in windshield. The serviceman took pictures of all the damage and said he would email them to me for proof. The email never came so I went back in and told him I never received it and needed it sent again. He told me he couldn't send it again but not to worry because they had it on file. I asked what would stop them from deleting the pictures and accusing us of the damage? He said that wouldn't happen. I told him sorry, not good enough, I needed the proof as well. He again refused saying I could take my own pictures. I told him that I wanted acknowledgement from them they were aware of the damage. He refused again. I asked to speak with the manager and he said "why have I been rude?" I again asked for the manager and he said " you have been rude since you came in". I told him if it's rude to request proof of damages, then yes I guess I am. I had never raised my voice once to him but was concerned with the fact they were fighting us so hard about this issue. I again asked for the manager and he said he was the manager. So I asked for his supervisor and he said he didn't have one. I had to get my phone out and tell him that if he refused to send me the proof of damage that I would call the corporate office and I would not leave with the vehicle. It was only then that he came out, took the pictures again, and emailed them to me. Would absolutely tell everyone to steer clear of this rental place. We quickly learned why they have a 2.2 star rating.

Called this morning to reserve a car for tonight and tomorrow. Ask for either economy or compact. Told them I have a 4 and half hour up to Iowa. They they would have something for me. So I drive up there. Have a friend take me only to get there and they tell me only thing they have is ford transit van. That should get great gas mileage!!! I'm upset that they couldn't call me by 5 to tell me they will not have a car. Instead I get to waste an hour and some gas for nothing!!! Thanks Hertz it really did hurt!!!

Do not recommend. The gentleman working there were cynical and not helpful with a reserved confirmed rental we had. I show up they say we do not have a car for you. Write down a number to call, said merry Christmas. 12-23-25. As we are stuck in Missouri. Finding good hell is hard to do!

Reserved a car 3 days before labor day weekend. I came in for my vehicle and waited for a couple of customers before me to be helped. I overheard one of the customers say that they did not have reservations and he was told that they had a SUV that they could rent. So by this time i'm at the desk to be helped and told them my name , just to find out that the Car that I had reserved 3 days ago, reservation was cancelled as of the 8 am . I was there to pick up rental at 9 am . I was told that they tried to call me but no one never called and the guy was lying. They had over 10 cars on the premises and during the holiday weekend the same 10 cars was on the premises all labor day weekend. I'm a Lees Summit Native and use Hertz a lot the customer service is subpar and they do not vacuum the vehicles as they should.

If I could leave a negative star I would. This is my 2nd and last time renting from this office. I booked online for a 3 row SUV. They didn’t have any, so they put me in a mini van. Which was $100 more than the rental I had booked. When asked if they could take $100 off my rental. They told me “The system won’t let me do that” Ok not a huge problem. Then when I received my bill, I was also charged $300 for a “cleaning fee” when I called and asked they told me, “There is pet hair inside the vehicle, so we charged you $300 to clean the pet hair.” I don’t have a pet, there was no pet inside the vehicle at anytime. So I was charged $400 extra in total for my $280 rental I booked. I had to call the 1-800 number to get the charges dropped. This is the 2nd time this office has claimed I had pets in the vehicle, when I don’t have pets, and no pets where in the vehicle at ANY TIME!!!

Soft spoken, no haste, no value of your time... this is place to go. I stopped going here a couple years ago because they never had cars or would not call before I arrived to inform me. I finally decided to give them another try. Called in advance to ensure they had correct #. I get there and there is 1 person in front of me. He definitely was having issues and the attendant was not helping him through exactly what was needed. Instead of giving him everything at once he kept stringing him along. Instead of telling him everything and helping the next cus I found myself STANDING for 40 min before helped. No signage saying I needed to show insurance card added to my process. Now I JUST rented from hertz airport location 7 days prior so I was confused because this was not a requirement there. After we go outside and he takes pictures of every angle of vehicle inside and out. Now why couldn't that be done prior to me picking up assigned vehicle? Would I go back?? I rather drive 45 minutes to airport or 25 minutes out my way to another location then go back here.
