I’ve used a ton of mechanics over the years. I enjoy my vehicles but am by no means am I a mechanic. I have never found anyone as honest as Eddie. Not only that, he knows what he’s doing. The few times he hasn’t, he readily admits it and is clear about who he can use as a trusted advisor. This is an incredibly rare quality in people. He’s fair and works diligently. He works alone, so he’s not the fastest and he has a big heart so he want to take care of everyone. If I could give a criticism, it would’ve that he promises too much, and works himself ragged to take care of his customers. As a small business owner, I know the perils of this. He is BY FAR the best mechanic I’ve ever found and he’s gained my loyalty. My guess is, if there are bad reviews on here of him, it reflects more on the reviewers lack of understanding and patience than it does on Eddie.

Found this shop via Google search and had my car towed here to get the ignition cylinder replaced. My car did not get there til past their closing hours and they still got it fixed that same day. Unprompted, they went above and beyond to help me with other stuff I needed help with on my car. Such a great experience. Will be my go-to spot from now on.

Not sure what’s going on here. I called and made an appointment but the place was completely deserted when I showed up at the appointment time (which was also within their “open hours” on Google). Tons of cars there look abandoned, the building didn’t have an obvious front door, and there is a “for sale” sign in the front.

I bought a rebuilt title Nissan Rogue from a private seller that kept having weird issues. I had heard great things about Hi-Tech Auto so I decided to take it there to get it checked out. Eddie quickly identified the problem and gave me a good quote price for the repair. I like how he didn't pressure me into doing the repair there. He provided me with the information on what needed to be repaired and how much it would be. Then he left it up to me to decide when and where I felt comfortable doing the repair. Let me tell you, when a mechanic shop doesn't treat me like I don't have common sense and doesn't pressure me to do the repair with them, that make me feel more comfortable doing the repair with them! It makes me feel like they will be more honest. I am very happy with my decision to have Eddie do my repair. The next time I have car problems, I will definitely be taking it to Eddie!

I happened upon this place, as I was searching for a convenient place near my work to get a second opinion on my nonfunctioning AC. I first took my car to Burt Brother's and their diagnosis was needing a new compressor to the tune of $1,400! I didn't have the means to pay this right away, so I decided to wait and try another place. I called Hi-Tech Auto and Eddie answered immediately. I dropped my car off that day and he spent almost 2 hours investigating the problem. Turns out, the compressor was working fine, but it wasn't getting any power. Eddie was extremely thorough, straight forward, and honest. Being a late Thursday afternoon and right before a holiday weekend, we agreed that I would bring my car back on the following Monday to finish the work. I asked what I owed for his time, and he told me nothing for today!! I was a little apprehensive, but so far trusted Eddie more than "The Big Guys". In the end, Eddie spent most of the day diagnosing, picking up parts and making it right. He fixed my AC and saved me $1,000!!!! I plan on coming back for all my auto maintenance and repair needs, and HIGHLY RECOMMEND Hi-Tech Auto to everyone else out there who is looking for timely, fair, accurate, and HONEST results. Eddie is awesome. Got my car towed to his garage immediately with no wait to fix. The next day he had my water pump, radiator, hoses and fluids all replaced. Wait time was basically nonexistent compared to my other experiences. He was very upfront and compassionate to my situation and the money I was spending. Gave him a call back later about my electrical power steering feeling weird, he did all the research on his own and said he will take a look and clean it up no charge. Would definitely recommend Eddie and Hi Tech Auto if you need a good, fair-priced fix. He will keep you up to date and make sure you know everything thats going on with your vehicle.

Eddie is the best mechanic I've come across. I'll just share my first experience with Hi-Tech. I had some unexplained noises coming from my suspension. Eddie diagnosed and repaired it within the same day. Even though I called with little notice on a Friday afternoon, he still was accommodating. He's the only mechanic I've offered to pay more because I thought he didn't charge enough. There's a reason I keep coming back to him. Quick, honest, and great service. Don't be fooled by the rougher exterior of his business. Eddie is your guy.

Hi-tech Auto and it’s owner, Eddie is a a rare find. He is an excellent mechanic and holds a high level of honesty and integrity. Not only did he fix my car well, he helped me to get parts and work done that was covered under warranty. In essence that means he loses the money for fixing that part. On top of that he was willing to drive my car to the necessary location. He looks after his customers so well there is no question in my mind that I will bring my car back to him. I found Eddie in a last minute effort to have a 3rd party mechanic inspect a vehicle. I had only given him about a 30 minute warning but he still took the time to inspect the car and give me a peace of mind that the car I had been looking at was a good choice. He was patient and thorough in his explanation. After meeting him and reading reviews, I can tell that honesty and integrity play a big role in his work. My Subaru’s water pump was leaking for the longest time and i had no idea for months on end I would get out of the car and would smell coolant it was driving me crazy every week I would have buy more coolant to pour in took it to Eddie and got a call back the same day he got it fixed the same week i was so relieved plus Eddie found a problem i had no idea about one of solenoids in my transmission was bad thank the lord above Eddie found it early and fixed that too if that transmission went out I would have just crushed the car but thanks to Eddie the Subaru Impreza rides another day

My car died suddenly late on a Wednesday leaving me stranded on the side of the road in Holladay. I’m fairly new to the area so don’t have a specific mechanic that I use. I called multiple nearby shops and it seemed like no one would be able to get my vehicle checked out for at least two weeks. Luckily I got a hold of Eddie at Hi-Tech and he was able to accept my vehicle that same day, so I had it towed over there. Eddie was even generous enough to offer my dog and I a ride home himself. He got my vehicle diagnosed by Friday that same week, and as it turns out my fuel pump had failed and needed replacement. Since I drive an older hybrid Toyota this would have been challenging to diagnose myself. For the repair on my vehicle this requires dropping the entire gas tank below the vehicle in order to access and replace the fuel pump. I am decently handy but definitely don’t have the tools, space or resources necessary for that type of thing myself. Fortunately Eddie was able to have this repair completed for me by the following Tuesday and I was back on the road in only one week. This was huge as I need my vehicle to get to and from work. Thanks so much for the help Eddie!

My Mazda muffler connection pipe broke from the main system. It was a pretty clean break but all the shops around refused to weld it and wanted to replace the entire system. Eddie at Hi-Tech Auto is hands down the best mechanic I’ve worked with in Utah! He is very timely with his work and incredibly helpful! I was replacing my rear wheel bearings and in removing my bearing it separated. I called Eddie and he told me to bring him the knuckle and bearing and he would press it out, he also placed my new bearing in place. I enjoy doing my own car work when I can and I was nervous when the bearing separated. After I called Eddie he put me at ease that he could get the bearing out. I also needed a piece for my brake caliper and he called a handful of junk yards for me to track down the exact part I needed, making the process less stressful! If you are looking for an honest and speedy mechanic Eddie is your guy! I have already recommended him to many friends!

Eddie was super great to work with and made time to see my car in a very fast manner. He was very good at communicating what was going on throughout the whole process. I didn’t end up completing repairs through him only because of a warranty from Subaru on the repair I needed. Basically it would’ve been more expensive for me to go through him. However, he was extremely transparent about the matter and even called the dealership to confirm everything with them so that I didn’t have to. Overall a very pleasant experience!!
