I love Idlewire and am so glad I found them. Everyone there is so friendly and they make the process easy. We have used Idlewire a few times now and I won’t board my dog anywhere else. She is actually happy when I drop her off there, which gives me so much peace-of-mind.

Boarding smell where dogs are kept is unbearable! I visited before I planned to have my dog stay. I also went to visit 2 more business. These were both 5 star! Rocky Mountain K9 in Washington Terrace and D’tales in West Haven. Such better and clean facilities , like night and day, compared to Idlewire! I feel so bad for the dogs that have to stay for boarding, it’s very sad!

I absolutely LOVE Idlewire 🐾 I have been going to their facility for over 9 years. Day Care, Grooming & Boarding, ALL of their services have been excellent! I recently had my 2 year old Australian Shepherd “Rooster” boarded in their cabins, he LOVED it!! I enjoyed watching him run in & out & play & sleep like he was at home 🥰 Derek has always been great & I love the staff & kennel techs ❤️ Big shout out to my groomer extraordinaire “Kathy” she’s the best!! We love IdleWire! Daniella takes such great care of or girls when we bring them in for grooming.. my girls get so excited when we pull up to drop them off.
The also take such good care of them when we board them there.. We will never go anywhere else! Thank you for treating our girls as you would your own..

I think this business and team members need to take a deep look at themselves in terms of organization and communication. I just did my second boarding with this company and it left me raising my eyebrows. There were multiple problems and questionable things that took place. They lost the food I provided for my dog. About 28 hours after my departure from my dog, Idlewire texted me saying: “Hi Nate it looks like we have ran out of food for Henry is he okay to use our kennel food ?
-Idlewire Pet Care”. I was perplexed and confused. I portioned and provided them with my dog’s food for about 72 hours of time with them. After several unanswered calls to them, they called me back telling me my dog’s food was found in another fridge. Okay. Then when I went to pick up my dog, they ended up bringing out the wrong dog to me, saying they mislabeled the kennels. I wouldn’t doubt that they fed another dog the fresh food I provided for my dog because they can’t keep the dogs straight. The first boarding experience with this company, my dog got kennel cough. I pray my dog doesn’t get kennel cough again. Get organized and communicate better y’all. I can forgive the kennel cough on his first experience, but this second experience was amateur hour. As I was waiting for them to bring out my dog, an employee came out saying how sorry she was to another customer for something that went sideways. Next time I’ll tie my dog to a run line and I know he’ll be better off. If you are looking for personalized and pampered care for your beloved furry animal, go elsewhere. Your animal is nameless at this business

They were amazing! Our dog is scared of people and other dogs due to being a rescue but everyone made her super comfortable and went slow not to scare her. They called us multiple times to give us an update and even emailed us a picture of her once she settled in and happy. We were really nervous about boarding her at first but when we were touring the location another customer heard us talking about being nervous and reassured us her dog has been going there for years and she loves it. Really awesome staff and location!

Dixie LOVES going to Idlewire! She truly gets excited as soon as we pull into the parking lot. The staff is knowledgeable, professional and friendly. The facilities are clean and do not smell like most groomers/boarders. I appreciate the option to leave my dog all day while I’m at work for her grooming and not have to worry about rushing to get my dog immediately after she’s finished. The groomers are attentive to detail, provide a written overview of the grooming and their perception of the dogs needs or issues. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IDLEWIRE!

From our experience, I would not recommend taking your dog here for boarding. Our dog came home with several different wounds. I will attach photos. She had a bloody sore on her mouth/lips, several scratches/bites/something on her legs, and bloody paws. It has all been quite shocking. On top of that her demeanor was completely different upon returning home. She has been super lethargic and honestly seems depressed. I understand boarding can be stressful for dogs but it seems concerning along with the other things. We were not informed about any of this, on her report card they said everything went great. I also understand things happen and would probably feel differently if I had been informed about what had happened but they either didn’t even notice which also seems concerning, or they purposefully didn’t inform us. Not sure which is worse. Really disappointed and feel sad our sweet girl had such a terrible experience.

It been very hard to find someone who could strip my Norwich Terrier. Well this is the place! So good with my little Izzy and she always looks amazing when she’s done. Highly recommend Idlewire grooming! Update 09/09/2024. Got another Norwich to add to the family! Got her hair done by Daniella (a pro at coat hair stripping) and she came out perfect just as expected !
Update 2/28/2025 Maggie is now 1yr old and getting stripping from Daniella. Maggie just lovers her! I swear she is a dog whisperer! Amazing groomers…work at Idlewire!

We absolutely love Daniella at Idlewire Pet Care. Our five-year-old standard poodle, Jasper, lights up when he sees her. She always gives him the perfect cut, and it is clear she knows exactly how to bring out his best look every time. I am sure she makes all of her clients feel like they are her favorite, but I truly believe Jasper is hers. She is kind, skilled, and always generous with helpful grooming tips. We boarded 4 dogs and 4 cats in May 2025 for about 10 days. There are a lot of younger people running things which had me a little worried but everything turned out really well. We are the type of parents that called every day for an update. I love that they give each pet a "report card" to show how they did that day. They always picked up the phone on the first attempt. They don't allow collars or leashes which was a little alarming at first but they remembered every pets' name and what issues any of them had. You can bring your own beds and toys etc. This place does require kennel cough vaccinations but PLEASE PSA get your vaccinations more than a month before you go - they are contagious for a few weeks. Once a pet stays here their client portal keeps them in the system so drop-off next time will be very quick and easy. They do down payments up front and then final charges at pickup. They have a decent store front with a few favorite brands. All in all it went very well and some of our pets didn't want to leave!! Very nice facility though you don't get to see much. Indoors and climate controlled. Check the extras if you want your pet to play outside. I wonder if some of these negative reviews are related to their parents not upgrading to outside play which would be hard on most pets. Thank you for taking care of my fur kids!!!
