Worst customer service. A simple question was apparently taken as offense to a cashier when asked for help in understanding a receipt and pricing. Thankfully, I live far away and will not ever return to this store again.

found a cute pair of shorts on the clearance for $3, waited in line for 5 mins just for the cashier to tell me the tags were all mixed and placed together and “didn’t have a pink tag” instead it was blue, so NO deal what so ever (it was $35!). get your stuff together instead of mismatching it all together. some bs.

Love our JCPenny's in Peoria. Got a heck of a deal on a new winter coat. 1/2 off and another 30%. Plus they have a Men's big and tall. Which is great for buying gifts for the significant other.

I visited the store a few days ago for the first time in a while and was extremely disappointed. I’m not one to be hard on stores however, it was a disaster everywhere I looked. I used the restroom and it smelled so strongly of sewage I was trying not to breathe and was gagging trying to not throw up. There was toilet paper all over the floor, fluids of some sort all over the walls of the stall I was in, no hand soap, paper towel dispenser didn’t work, etc. I could go on for days. Someone needs to do something about this or it will be the next store to close in tye Northwoods mall.

Ordered a mattress on May 27. Given a delivery date of June 9. Then they changed it to June 13. Then it didn't arrive. Customer service was of no help. Cancelled the order and we are done with JC Penney. It's no wonder that stores like this are struggling.

It’s absolutely pathetic that this dying business has its doors closed when the stores attached to the mall it’s attached to are open for business. Tell me you can’t afford payroll without telling me you can’t afford payroll. On top of that both Target and Kohls are open at 8 and 9 am for business. Your leading competitors are open 2 to 3 hours before you and open 2 hours after you.

I use to love shopping at our Canton Jcpenny until they closed. I normally only shop online now because the store in Peoria is terrible! It use to be my favorite store. I bought all of our clothes there. I went there to get my daughter some jeans. As you can see it was impossible to find what I was looking for. I don't have enough time to sit and dig through this mess to find what I need. I went to glance at the clearance and there were clothes all over the floor and it was a mess. Needless to say I left. This place is disgraceful! They should be embarrassed in the way this looks. Maybe they need to hire more people!

My family has a long standing relationship with JC Penney Photo Studio. We have been taking our family pictures here for over 30 years. Sunday, September 14, 2025 we again came to your studio for family pictures and then my daughter had pictures of her family taken separately. Grace was our photographer. Grace was profesisonal, courteous, knowledgeable and wonderful with the kids. Well let's face it ... she was wonderful with me too! Grace did all the things you want during the photo's -- she kept her eye on all of our hair, our necklaces, our hands (which is so important when you get your pictures back). She laughed with us and worked her charm on my 10 year old grandson who was definitely NOT into it and made it an enjoyable experience for all of us. She knew her products and sold us on several side items when making our selections. Many only reach out to management when unhappy but I believe in advising management when you have a solid engaging employee as well. Thank you for this forum. Carol Williamson

It's been a long time since I've been to Penny's. The store is clean and well stocked. It's in a mall so plenty of free handicap parking and entrance. The biggest change I noticed was two employees on the floor to handle everything. The decline is evident, makes me sad.

Two fully grown women working in the jewelry department displayed extremely rude behavior and a complete lack of customer service. My college-aged daughter went in to purchase a Christmas gift for her boyfriend and called me afterward to say the associates wouldn’t acknowledge or assist her. I later returned with her, and once again neither woman even looked up to greet us. We browsed for several minutes before my daughter finally asked for the price of an item she was interested in. One associate responded, “Yeah, it’s gonna be a minute,” with no further explanation or effort. Despite my instincts, we waited briefly, though it was already clear they had no intention of earning our business. During that time, an older couple approached the counter and immediately received warm, attentive service. At that point, we left. I told my daughter she would not be spending her money there under any circumstances. We ended up purchasing a beautiful piece of jewelry from a professional jewelry store down the hallway. If JCPenney eventually closes its doors in Peoria, this type of associate behavior will be a contributing factor.
