Went in for an air conditioning repair "estimate." He said it needed to be re-wired and would do that for $134.50. I said ok. Came back in an hour and he said that the wiring caused the compressor to short out and that I needed a new compressor. Charge would be $1100 plus !! I said no. He said there would be a $44.50 "diagnostic" charge. He did not mention this up front, nor are there any signs anywhere indicating a diagnostic charge. This is a scam. I'm contemplating reporting this guy to Law Enforcement.

Beware 2013 Honda Fit, low on freon. Charged $ 48 for diagnostic. Quoted $ 571 because ac condenser had a leak in coil and needed replacing. Did not want to show me the problem, because they had already backed car out. Went to Unicar Honda on I-10, fitting was slightly loose, tightened and put it some freon, no charge under warranty.

Wayne knows what he's talking about when it comes to his repairs. We were quoted a price and a timeframe and it ended up being cheaper and he completed the work sooner than anticipated which is fantastic! Will absolutely recommend!!

Brought my vehicle in with a leaking radiator. I had to ask the guy to come outside and look at it. He looked at the car and said they wouldn't be able to fix it and would take a while to order it. Also said I would have to come back another day. Not sure what they do at that shop (there were no other vehicles there), but he sure didn't seem interested in fixing or replacing my radiator! 1* for customer service seems a little high. The worker did all he could to lose this customer. I left mystified like I had gone into the wrong shop to ask for help. Checked the sign as I left, it says "Radiators" on it!

Jim has done a fantastic job on my AC system! I had recently purchased my 2012 Honda Odyssey from unicar Honda and the AC was not working properly. I took it back to the dealership to get it fixed about 12 times with no luck. After that I took my van to Honda of the desert. They replaced the compressor under warranty and that didn't fix the issue completely but it helped. I decided to take my van to Jim's as a last ditch effort. He quickly solve the problem after fixing a few leaks, replace the condenser, and properly recharge the system. All at a good price. I'm so happy I found a good place to get ac service!

My experience was outstanding. The work was fast, honest, and reasonable. I could have easily been taken advantage of, but instead of an expensive compresser replacement , all I needed was an AC recharge and a leak fixed. I would highly recommend this shop and will use it again if I have AC or radiator problems.

The establishment is well kept along with great cleanliness of there service bays. Customer service is top notch. I personally went in for an ac service knowing I had a problem. My 2013 Nissan Altima wasn't cooling like it was. They attempted to isolate the problem the most cost effective way possible. I didn't feel not one bit taken advantage of. My experience was top-notch. Wayne at the front desk was extremely Pleasant and easy to talk to. They respected my appointment time and my vehicle was being checked out within 3 minutes of my dropping it off. Dreading the diagnosis and of course some ridiculous repair bill. I was relieved to see that they were extremely honest about my problem with my air conditioner and said it was a pretty simple fix and was charged an extremely fair price. My AC went out in my car returning from Arizona as I was passing through Indio to stay one night at my parents place, on my way home to Orange County, it was 110 degrees out and we were having a heat wave in OC as well. The next morning I was lucky enough to find Jim's Desert Radiator and Auto Repair via google and Yelp. I gave them a call right when they opened and spoke to Vern, who was very professional and explained they could fit me in right away! Once my car was there, their staff was able to inspect my car and diagnose the issue pretty quickly. Giving me two options, a less expensive option and a more expensive option, which I really appreciated. The problem ended up being more extensive than I thought but Vern was very upfront with me on costs and timing. He did an exceptional job of keeping me well informed on the progress and allowed me to ask as many questions as needed to feel comfortable with my decision. From start to finish the work was done in about 24 hours and I was back on the road. I highly recommend this shop and feel confident that you'll be well taking care of....

My radiator was starting to leak in a 2014 F250. I went in without an appointment and they did the work the same day. The time and cost estimates to do the work was exactly correct and accurate. They recommended additional hoses be replaced in conjunction with the radiator change ,, a good suggestion for a 11 year old vehicle. The owner and mechanic were friendly and knowledgeable. The work was done about 3 months ago and so far all is working well. I recommend this business.
