Do not go to McCombe's! I went there a few weeks ago to have an estimate done on my Hyundai Tucson in regards to my broken door handle on the passenger side, estimate came out to $1,100, I thought that was ridiculous for a broken door handle. Afterwards, the lady didn't even go over or explain the estimate to me at all, just handed it to me and I walked out, I was so taken aback by the amount I didn't even say anything. I end up going somewhere else and they're telling me parts are only going to be around $120 and are only charging me $100 for labor. It's clear McCombe's only cares about making a profit and aren't in because they actually care about helping people..I understand the need to make a profit but the difference in those prices is outrageous. I'll never take my car to McCombe again.

I reached out to a friend of mine who works at McCombe to take a look at some body work we needed done. That same day he asked if he could swing by and take a look (very much going out of his way on behalf of the business, while he was off the clock). He walked me through the process and connected me with one of the estimators. From first contact, all the way through picking up the vehicle after repairs was an ideal experience. Great customer service, excellence in their craft, and they worked directly with my insurance company (I only had to call them once). Great work McCombe! Nobody wants to find themselves in need of a body shop. But start to finish McCombe was a pleasure to deal with. Particularly the GM (Nate) who runs a tight ship and is on top of every detail. McCombe interfaced seamlessly w/ my insurance carrier (Erie). And the quality of their work is first rate. My car is BETTER than new! Absolutely stellar experience and I would not hesitate to use them again.

the shop I have been going to has made multiple errors, from mismatched paint, to misaligned panels, and incorrectly fitted pieces. Initially, the paint was not matched, and they eagerly corrected it. The second visit, the bumper and panel were not correctly aligned, and they again corrected it. However, when I returned to pick up my vehicle, the grille had not been set flush with bumper, which I assumed would be resolved with refitting the bumper. The manager was quite rude and told me that it was really my fault “for driving a Nissan product, and they make shitty parts” and that “the parts do not even come primed anymore.” It took several months and a new shop to get it correctly fitted. Appraisal revealed even more poor workmanship. They maintain their ratings by having Google reviews taken down apparently

I do not recommend this body shop. I allowed the body shop to work on my vehicle for a few weeks with no complaints, in hopes that they were able to do their job. I was told by Joe that this job only would take a few weeks. After these few weeks passed, I was told I’d be able to pick up my car at the beginning of the next week. When the next week rolled around, Joe called me telling me that they had ordered an incorrect part for my car. Being understanding, I allowed them to take their time to order this part and replace it. This happened for the second time the next week, causing another delay because of an incorrect part. I was told I’d be able to pick my car up at the beginning of the next week. Again, the next week rolled around and there was another mistake. They had lost a part this time. I only knew this because I had gotten no updates when I was supposed to get my car and I called Joe to ask what was going on. Joe told me one more week, that he wanted “perfection”. Surprise… the next week when I called because I was supposed to be able to pick up my car they had to reorder, yet another, part. Joe told me the guys working on it wanted to fix it incorrectly instead of waiting on the new part. Obviously that wasn’t okay. Again, I was promised “perfection”. One more week. I was told I’d get a call Tuesday or Wednesday. Friday rolls around, and after I’d heard nothing, I decided to call. Joe told me I could finally come pick up my car. When I got there, the front desk employee greeted me with poor customer service and Joe was not there. After examining my car, I noticed some major imperfections. My bumper was misaligned and there was a big imperfection in the paint that they repainted. I understand that a repaint might have some minor imperfections, but it should not have been accepted the way it came out. Someone that I had not talked to before came to look at my car and he told me he’d send Joe pictures and have him call me to schedule a time to fix them. I have not heard from anyone at this body shop since.

I was recommended McCombe by a friend after my dad backed into my passenger driver side door of my Mazda CX-5 with his after market solid steel bumper on his Tundra. I got 3 quotes and McCombe was my last stop. Honestly the first 3 places I went seemed so eager to take photos, send me on my way, and then email MASSIVE $$$ quotes with little to no explanation where the money was going? At least not to someone who doesn't speak car and never had to have a repair of this nature done. Now this was my dad who hit me, so I didn't want to just go with the most expensive thing cause it was an option. So that was my initial experience with 3 very popular body shops in Columbus. When I went to McCombe it was totally different. I had an appointment for an estimate. They went outside with me to my car. Went over the damage, walked me through all they planned to do and why. And what would be painted, replaced, reused etc. They were there to answer questions, and even let me know if my Dad had questions to give them call. Super friendly, seemed to really want me to understand the scope of work and I instantly was more at ease here than the other 3 places I went to. When I got the quote, and my dad's insurance okayed it, I scheduled a drop off date. And they really worked with me because I ended up needing to drop the car off 4 days early due to me leaving the country for 9 days. The repair got done almost entirely while I was gone. It was ready on time. And honestly despite my fears that side of my car would always look different than the rest, it was SEEMLESS. You would never know my whole door was replaced. Everything looks good, and works as should. And the process was so simple. Also I felt good about the work that was done, and their whole staff was always friendly and willing to help when I had questions. Would recommend them to anyone. Very small business / family owned vibes and the work was still top notch. I hope to never need a body shop again, but if I do, I would 100% bring my car here again. Thanks so much!! Terrible communication. They don’t call you with updates. Brought my car in December to get a splash shield ordered and installed. Instead they installed something else and did not repair what I asked. I brought my car back January 4 and requested for the correct part. Put down a deposit. Over two weeks later they finally let me bring my car in, then they call me and say the price went up over $300. A complete waste of my time and money. I will never be going back here. Trina is who took care of me, or lack thereof. She ignored my expressions of concern, and was not solution oriented throughout the process.
