I am one of those people who dreads going to the mechanic. I am not a car person and I always feel anxious about being overcharged or strung along. After asking around, multiple people recommended Michelle's to me. I cannot recommend this auto shop enough. I would send my daughter here. Sam was amazing, he managed to fix my car issues in a couple of hours and went out of his way to fit me in as I was leaving for a trip in a few days. Not to mention that every single person (customers included) that I interacted with there was so kind and personable. The prices were more than fair and he went above and beyond to figure out the problems my car was having and a solution to them. I have been looking for a trustworthy mechanic in St. Pete forever and I am happy to be supporting this local business.

Amazing guy! I needed help loosening two stuck bolts with an impact gun, and even though he was extremely busy, he still took the time to help me out. When I tried to pay him or at least leave a tip, he refused. That’s how you know someone is truly honest. He’ll definitely be my mechanic from now on!

Our Jeep overheated on a trip from ATL to St. Pete and our Uber driver, Robert, recommended this place, as this is where he gets his monthly oil changes. Sam was awesome, and knew exactly what was wrong. Unfortunately, the part would take 2-3 weeks to come in. So he fixed it up good enough for us to get home, and would not even charge us because he could not warranty the work. What?? He could’ve taken advantage of our situation, but he did not. Sam, I hope your business gets blessed big because of your integrity and character!

originally had an appointment for 9/10. dropped my car off and two days later they still hadn’t even looked at it to see what was wrong, so we picked it up, it was still drivable and we needed it for the weekend. i had it assessed at a dealership and found the problem, got a good quote from michelle’s and made an appointment to drop it off 9/22. it’s been two weeks (it’s now 10/3) and we called for an update today and they said it’ll take up to 2 weeks to get the part in. so they’ve had my car this whole time, no effort to order a part or fix it. they seem to have cheap prices but are clearly too busy and don’t have their work in order.

We had alot of half-life work done on our car (serpentine belt replacement, engine transmission drain and fill, break system replacement). The prices were reasonable and they did a thorough job using quality parts for the replacements. However, the next day after we had the work done, smoke was coming from the car. So I called them and mentioned this and was told it should be fine since the smoke had stopped and maybe it was just smoke burning some spilled fluids. A month later, an hour into a road trip the car starts smoking again. So we have to bring the car into a random mechanic. They said the previous mechanic (Michelles) overfilled the transmission fluid and it was leaking out via an overflow valve all over the engine. They said this was a fire hazard as the fluid is highly flammable and was leaking in the undercarriage of the car and on the hot engine. They also recommended to get a car wash to make sure the mess was cleaned up - to prevent a fire. So I'm not a car expert, I can only say that it seems Michelles left my car in a dangerous and flammable state due to the work they did on my car and had overfilled the engine fluids. And when I called and told them about it after the fact, rather than offer to come back and get it looked at again or being aware of what the issue might be, it was brushed off as being fine.

Chuck ( the manager) ensures that your vehicle is properly diagnostics assessed- with no stone unturned. Everything is explained thoroughly before work is performed. My vehicle is good as new. Last week I heard a weird noise in my vehicle, so I called the Ford dealership to see if I can get it looked at. They quoted me $250 to even look at my car, but then I found this shop. Had a great experience at this place. I was able to get an oil change at an affordable price as well as resolving a prolonged issue with my brakes. I have been taking my 2008 Hyundai Veracruz to Michelle's Ultimate Car Care (9901 4th Street North, St. Petersburg) for about two years now, and I can confidently say they are the most honest auto repair shop I’ve ever dealt with. Michelle, the owner, along with her daughter Heather, run a truly family-owned and operated business. From day one, their mission has been to create a repair shop where women especially can feel safe, respected, and never taken advantage of. They only hire honest, trustworthy mechanics, and that integrity shows in every interaction. Every repair they’ve done on my vehicle has been top-notch and completed exactly as it should be — no shortcuts, no unnecessary add-ons, and no inflated labor charges. Most recently, my Veracruz threw a check engine light and started jerking during acceleration. After scanning it myself and seeing a P0306 code (cylinder 6 misfire), I had it flat-bedded from Clearwater and dropped off overnight. First thing the next morning, Heather had her mechanic diagnose it right away. Within a couple of hours, she called to explain that it was simply one spark plug and one coil. The total? $248. Completely fair and transparent. I also asked about flushing my transmission because of a slight hard shift into first gear. Instead of trying to sell me a service, Heather advised that a transmission flush could actually make the issue worse and recommended against it. That level of honesty is rare in this industry. If you live anywhere in Pinellas County and you’re unsure where to take your vehicle, I highly recommend Michelle’s Ultimate Car Care. They do not overcharge, they do not push unnecessary repairs, and they treat you with respect. In my experience, they are hands down one of — if not the — most honest auto repair shops in Pinellas County.
