Had my fuel pump replaced here. They fixed the pump but my fuel gauge was not working after. I ran out of gas driving to work due to the faulty gas gauge. I never had an issue with the fuel gauge until I brought my car here. The manager Brad told me that they did not replace the fuel sending unit when replacing the fuel pump and used the existing fuel sending unit, meaning they handled the part and now it is broken. Brad took no accountability for damaging my fuel sending unit and tried to charge me $600 to repair a part that they broke. Brad claims that they did not damage the sending unit and that the part gave out over time. Really? A part that your team handled stops working after replacing the part it’s attached to and you’re going to tell me that the part just so happened to wear out at the same time? I bought the fuel sending unit myself. Sure enough when I opened the tank I found my fuel sending unit broken, floating in my gas tank. Zero accountability or integrity. I went for an oil change for my Lexus GX and thought these guys did an excellent job. Next time when I went to change the oil at a different place, they showed me the sticker and told me that wrong oil was used. Instead of 5W-30, they used 0W-20. Doing a quick google research, I found that "using a thinner oil like 0W-20 when your car requires 5W-30 could potentially lead to inadequate engine protection due to its lower viscosity" and also "will affect fuel economy and engine efficiency". My brakes went out while driving and brake fluid was pouring out. Had my car towed to Midas in Novi, and it was the best choice I could have made. My brake system turned out to be really stubborn, they had to attempt to flush the lines for 3 days with no luck. They replaced the master and it solved the problem. Even though they had to go through ten gallons of brake fluid, Ray didn’t charge a cent for it. Parts and labor were reasonable. Not only that, they left everything cleaner than when I dropped it off, even cleaned the windshield. The whole team there is fantastic. Ray runs a clean, efficient shop and I’m really impressed. I cannot give this Midas location enough stars. Their professionalism is top notch. Patient and gives very clear explanation. Gave a price and the amount of time it was going to take to fix. They were within 5 minutes of time. I was given price was much less than my first quote from a competitor. Clean waiting room and clean rest room. Hopefully I will not need another car repair but if I do I am absolutely going back!
