It was fantastic being able to schedule a service appointment online, very low drama! The actual service interaction was ... ok, I guess ... they were friendly but also had a LOT of trouble listening to my concerns. That made me feel like I should take my car elsewhere, where they'll listen to me. Then, their waiting room is just silly since it is very small, with only one restroom that is used by their service staff, too. Occasionally they hold their own meetings in there so you have to wait outside. It's just a mess. The location is convenient to where I live, and it's in a great location if you want to walk around and get some lunch or coffee or something while you wait, or you can get on Bart and head to work if you don't want to wait

She was super clear about the process and the timing, and what service was performed on my car. The wait was long. Even though we had an appointment, we had to wait for 30 minutes. A few of the staff members were unfriendly and not approachable or helpful. As soon as we got there, no one greeted us, we waited for someone to acknowledge us. We saw multiple people and not one said hello for over 15 minutes. A mechanic finally came and said that he would be with us soon. He was clearly busy. Other staff who saw us should have said something earlier but they just sat around. On their phone or chit chatting. I’m only giving 3 stars because I feel bad for some of the other great staff especially when coming to pick up the car on Saturday. But I should give 1-2 stars because of the delay and mainly the unfriendly staff when coming to drop off the car for service.

Updated review: Dan at Oakland Kia promptly reached out to me about my original review and was able to get my car in to fix the problems that weren’t address. I really appreciated how they responded and took accountability for my complaints. Ultimately very happy with my service Prior review: I didn’t have a great experience with the Kia service center. I took our Niro Ev for some routine maintenance and what seemed like simple repairs for the tail light and the windshield wiper. They said in order to figure out what was wrong with the windshield wipers I had to pay $250 for them to run a diagnostic test. For that they just shot water through the line and told me it was the windshield wiper motor which would cost an additional $400. I spent almost $1300 with them and when I got home the tail light still doesn’t work and the car battery died. I’ve read online that it is a routine check for them to look at battery health which they clearly didn’t do. Pretty mad that things cost this much now days but you don’t get the quality assurance you should for that amount

From start to finish, my experience with Oakland Kia was a great one. Sammy Soriano, my salesperson, worked closely with his manager to search all of the inventory within the San Francisco Bay area to find EXACTLY the car I wanted. They went above and beyond. I appreciated their sincerity and desire to give the best customer experience. I never felt pressured in the "schmooze" auto salesman sort of way. Instead I felt respected and was given the right amount of time to think before my purchase. Speaking of purchase, It was great. It only took 30min to sign all of the paperwork and drive out the door with my new 2017 Kia Sportage SX. I would highly recommend them to other people.

My 6 year old NIRO EV had a rumble noise in the engine. Daniel Vargas was amazing at working with Kia Warranty to have the whole engine and transmission replaced under TSB ELE 234 at no cost to me under the 10 year powertrain warranty. This was the kind of service that gives me confidence in buying Kia again. And the car was washed when I picked it up a week later! Daniel texted me the whole time to let me know how the repair was progressing.

He helped me coordinate with Kia Customer Care to get a loaner vehicle as an exception to their normal policy, regularly shared updates with me on the status of the repairs, and generally provided exceptional service. I’ve been getting my Kia Optima serviced at Kia Oakland branch for many years and there’s so many reasons why I keep coming back. The customers service has escaleted in all ways positive. Leurm and Daniel were both awesome. They listened to my specific service needs, explained in laymen’s terms what was going on with my car and then helped me choose a service plan that met my financial needs. I brought my car in for its first service. The woman who checked me in went above and beyond to help me as I needed additional information to use my service contract. She was good natured, competent and helpful, which was so refreshing in a setting like this. When I picked up my car at the end of the day, one of the technicians spent a lot of time showing me many of the features of my car that I was unsure how to access. He was so patient and seemed genuinely invested in me leaving with all my questions answered. Overall a very positive experience.

I took my 2017 Kia in for an oil changed and a 45k mile service on a Saturday. I was the first customer at 8am. I was told the service would take 90 minutes. After 2 hours, I checked in with the service advisor, and it seems they needed to order a part for what I thought was a routine service. After that the service advisor checked in with me regularly since I was waiting in the customer lounge. I had a nice chat with a couple who were also waiting an extraordinary amount of time for an oil change. Got my car back around noon. This service cost $900. I think I'm done getting dealer service for my car (I do it in case there's ever an issue with the 10 year warranty)

Picked up my car after they replaced the transmission. Found the under liner in my rear seat not reinstalled .No big deal as they reinstalled as I waited.checked my center console and saw all my 1’s I keep in there for parking missing .Of course they don’t take responsibility.Not good for a business to employ thieves.Makes you feel violated and no confidence on your local Kia service center. Extremely disappointed.

September 15, 2025 Dainel thank you for keeping up your word. The service was awesome and everyone here was nice! She runs like I first got her! I will be back for sure 😊 June 17, 2025 is when I got my car serviced here. They were done with the car earlier but couldn't clean my car since it was lunch time. Had to be at work so I asked to get my car washed on next monday. I spoke with Daniel on Friday, and he told me that if I filled out the customer service email and gave them a good score that he would throw in a free item. Now here June 23, washed my car and now I have scratch and scraped my paint on my new car. By the time I seen this they closed I went the next morning 6/24/25 and spoke with Patrick. He said that the manager would call me back about the situation. It is now July 1, with still no callback! It's a very sad situation I've gone through with them! This used to be a great place, but now I have to take it a step further with no response from oakland kia! Love this place! They take great care for my car, but i do miss when they wash your car after they were done. There was a lot of dust from it being in a garage. Other than that thank you 🙏 Camron is awesome!

We were in San Francisco and leaving to drive back to Florida. Someone broke the driver's side rear window out of our 2023 Kia Telluride. Geico, Safelite and the San Francisco Kia dealer said it couldn't be fixed for at least two weeks. I called the Oakland Kia parts department and spoke with Alex, the parts department manager. He not only got the glass, but he also arranged to have it installed the day it arrived. I would give him and the dealership more stars if I could. Thank you again!

Dont go here. First, they charge $250 per item you would like them to take a look at even if the issue is very small. Second, they told me I would need to replace my entire transmission for $5,000. Took it to a transmission specialist for a second opinion and the issue was fixed for $500. They will overcharge you however possible.

I brought my car into this Kia service center for routine maintenance, and they found an oil leak. They assured me the issue was fixed. Not only did I pay for the repair, but I also trusted their word. A day later, I noticed the same oil spots under my car—meaning the leak was never actually resolved. The next day, while driving through the desert, the car broke down from that same oil leak. We were stranded in the middle of nowhere and had to pay for a very expensive tow truck to get out of the situation. This wasn’t just an inconvenience—it was dangerous and costly. I paid for maintenance and repairs that were clearly not done correctly, and their negligence left us with additional, unexpected expenses. I am demanding reimbursement for both the faulty service and the towing costs caused by their failure. Customers should never have to question whether a Kia service center actually did the work they promised.
