Tried to give back my car with "engine swap" car was having same exact issues as when I originally took the car in. He then said he would get company from which we bought the engine to replace it. It is now 3 months later and I just got my car back. Exhaust pipe still smells like there is coolant leaking in the engine and its a matter of time before it brakes down. I would not recommend this mechanic to anyone please find a quality mechanic even if it is a little more expensive so you don't end up with the same headache I have been put through. p.s when I asked to see invoice from company to prove he had actually swapped the engine he couldn't find it and the second time he said that no shop will show you a part invoice. SAVE YOUR MONEY FIND A DIFFERENT SHOP!!

2013 Ford Fiesta was having an unknown electrical issue. I thought it was possibly the alternator but took it in for a diagnosis. Identified the problem as a malfunctioning battery and saved me a lot of money on a much more costly alternator replacement. Professional and trustworthy, glad I decided to take it here. Will be back next time I have an issue I cant solve myself.

I've have known Mario and some of the family members for sometime now. They are extremely nice people! That being said, my last experience with his shop wasn't very good. One of his employees replaced my clutch, pressure plate and throw out bering. Including both C/v axels. The mechanic failed to drive my car after he was done because my toe setting was ( the steering wheel was way off turned to the left when driving straight) it was way off. I have a appointment to get my car aligned on monday to the tune of $100.00. I just had it done last year at Les Schwab. I also had to adjust my clutch myself because the pedal was on the ground when it ingauges. I called Mario and explained my situation about the alignment. He didn't offer any solution on the problem. In this repair it is a must to align the front end when your done because you have mess with the alignment or your going to have the problem I have! I thought he would if had that done or tell me that they don't do that. I have to take some responsibility for some of this. I should if asked him if going to align the car. Inspite of this speed bump I will still do buisness with Mario. I will just ask a little more questions. To show the respect I have for the family I will still give them a 5 star!

Our 2009 accord was failing to start/keep running. Honda dealership wanted to charge us $3,900 for an alternator replacement, timing belt replace, fix an "oil leak", replace spark plugs. Mario checked it out and replaced the alternator, he said everything else was still fully functioning and not at all necessary to replace, grrrr Honda. We really appreciated his speed, his honesty and will be coming back for all repairs. Thank you!

Highly recommend Ortiz's Auto Repair for car services/oil change. Local and hard working small business. They are so friendly, fast, and helpful. Especially being a female, personally it can be intimidating going into an auto shop because I feel like I have been taken advantage of with prices and maintenance add-ons in the past at other shops since I do not know much about cars, so it was refreshing to just trust in Ortiz's service and feel like I was getting honest work done.

I’m fairly new to the Forest Grove area and was in need of a mechanic for my 20 year old Camry that had a variety of mechanical and chassis issues. Who to trust? I met with Mario at Ortiz Auto and felt reassured. All of the repairs were completed on time and at the price quoted. Although the job did not go 100% according to plan due to some unforeseen circumstances, he stood behind his work and worked until the job was 100% complete. I would highly recommend Ortiz Auto for any type of vehicle repair that is needed. Mario and the mechanics at Ortiz Auto have earned a loyal customer. This is an honest shop.

We are new to the Forest Grove area and were in need of repair for our Dodge Journey SUV. We googled a shop in our area and Ortiz Auto Repair popped up at almost 5-star rating. We went for it. We're so glad, we did. They are the most trusted and less expensive shop in the area. He offers military discounts. I know that doesn't sound like much, but any discount sounded good to us at the time. Once he looked at the problem, he realized that what Dodge Service Center said was the problem was really not what he troubleshot. What could have cost us $1400+ ended up just less than $300 because he said it was just a loose hose. Anyway, the car is back running and all is repaired and we're happy and grateful that we found them. Because we had a good experience and would like to send this small business repair shop more business. I highly recommend him the next time you're looking for a repair.

This shop is PHENOMENAL. The employees are all super nice and their prices are very reasonable and they don’t try to upsell you or repair things that don’t need it. They seem very honest and trying to garner lots of local and loyal business, and it shows. We brought in my sedan with grinding wheel noise (bad brakes and worn front rotors) and they replaced my brakes and refinished my rotors (which I guess isn’t done as much anymore?) for around $500. They told us the brakes might squeak for a while, but if it keeps happening to bring it back in. About 6 months later we kept having pretty loud brake squeaking, so I called them on a Friday and they said I could drop the car off Monday and they would take a look at it. I dropped my car off at 10:30am and picked it up around 4pm the same day! They just cleaned off my rear brakes/rotors for free, and that was the fix. It wasn’t even the same set of brakes and rotors they repaired the first time. No trying to sell me new brakes or rotors if it didn’t need it. Highly recommend them if you’re looking for honest, fast, and affordable car repair in the Forest Grove area!

Ortiz has been so helpful. A different mechanic tried to quote me over twice the amount Ortiz did for my back brake replacement, but he did it for what felt like a very reasonable price. He works quick, he is great at understanding financial issues and sanded my rotors so I could use my car until I am able to replace them. I really appreciate his help.
