We recently got our Ram ProMaster van repaired by Mr. Padilla after our vehicle stopped in the middle of Big Sur. He was able to repair our van when we brought it in to his shop that same evening despite it having been a last second walk-in at 5pm. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional, replaced our dead battery with a new original, and thoroughly checked our van for any extra issues. Thank you Juan!!! He went out of his way to answer all of our questions. We would go back there anytime.

On a weekend getaway to the city of Monterey, my Chevrolet Equinox starting having a mechanical issue !! I took my vehicle to Padilla Auto Repair and thank goodness I did. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! If you ever need quick and affordable repairs in an otherwise highly priced area this is definitely the place for you! I was on a road trip going through Monterey and dropped my car off for a quick oil change. I had already driven across the country and apparently my two rear break pads were completely shot -- I was shocked when the mechanics showed them to me. I was in a bind since I did not have a place to stay that night in Monterey and had to get down to LA that day. I called every mechanic nearby, told them about the situation, and no one was able to help me out in a timely manner. The mechanics at Padilla Auto Repair are absolute ANGELS!! They ordered two new break pads for me and replaced them within a span of 2.5 hours! They charged me an extremely reasonable price for the order and replacement as well. I cannot express how grateful I am for their help and for keeping me and my vehicle safe! Thank you!!!!

Nice guys who work here. They seem very honest, and they work fast. They also have the best prices I could find after calling all the auto places in the area. I asked Juan where I should get my tires replaced and he suggested a place way out marina. After calling literally all the tire places near Montery and PG for quotes, all being 440 or higher, I went out to marina and got them replaced for 200. Worth the drive. Thanks, Juan.

This is the kind of auto repair shop I’ve been searching for! I called the day before and was told to bring my car in the next day. I showed up and Jesus changed my oil and rotated my tires in no time while I worked on my laptop. Jesus was very kind and even told me my brakes were in great shape and showed me why, which I appreciated. VERY reasonable pricing for an oil change and tire rotation— best price I’ve paid in a long time. Highly recommend this shop to anyone looking!

Juan (owner) is the kindest, most trustworthy mechanic who went above and beyond to help me out! We broke down in Monterey, and Juan helped me on the side of the road for free. When I was unable to make it to his shop until after he closed, he stayed open for me. He was very clear about the charges and reasonably priced. A friend recommended Padilla AR to me as I was experiencing an issue after having some major work done on my Toyota Matrix from a different mechanic. Juan had some time available for me to come in that day and quickly located the source of the clunking. There was some bolts that weren’t properly tightened. He and Armando even went the extra mile and helped me ziptie some loose plastic guards that were sagging in my car’s undercarriage. He was also so generous that he didn’t even charge me. These guys are saints! They now have a new loyal customer; ¡¡gracias amigos!!

When you move to a new city and have to find a new mechanic, it can be tough! I can reassure you that Padilla is the real deal. I go to him for both of my cars. He replaced an engine on one of my cars about two years ago. Continues to run SMOOTH. He’s done our breaks and tires and replaced a broken axel. He’s easy to talk to and easily my favorite mechanic. Highly recommend.

We took our vehicles for a much needed service. We spent close to $1k as the cars were due for transmission service, oil pan replacement, and brakes. The price is reasonable and this shop gets busy. I'd recommend this place. It is hard to find a good mechanic shop in Monterey at a reasonable cost. Update: Toyota Rav4 is loosing engine oil. Padilla worked on the oil pan as it was leaking. Whe called the owner Juan to have it checked out, but have not received a response. I'll have to take time off from work to take the vehicle to their shop.

Juan Padilla is the best mechanic I have found on the Monterey Peninsula. He's very knowledgeable and thorough. I don't think there is any problem he can't fix. I could not get my truck to run it's monitor test after replacing the catalytic converter. Juan knew exactly what to do and after his work I passed the smog check. A week later I took my turck back to him to do more work and he did a great job. HE EVEN CALLED ME THE NEXT DAY TO ASK HOW IT WAS RUNNING.. Juan is a highly skilled mechanic, HONEST and puts his heart into his work. I will be going to Padillas for all automotive work i need done in the future.

Padilla Auto Repair does awesome work. Very honest people. They take the time to show you the repairs they did by showing you the parts that was replaced, which is great. Needed a diagnostic for the Catalytic converter and Padilla's diagnostic-rate was significantly less than the other places I called. Brought it in, didn't need an appointment, and Juan told me that he is pretty sure that it would be covered under warranty. Needed to wait a couple days for the dealership to get back to me and Padilla was nice enough to even let us leave our car on their property until we got an official response if it was covered or not. Turns out it was covered and Padilla saved us A LOT of $$$. I appreciated their honestly about the warranty, their kindness and availability to help, and their overall customer service was excellent. I will be taking my cars to them from now on and recommend them to anyone.

I was vacationing down in Monterey Area visiting family, just drove down from WA State. All was well until my check engine light came on. Engine decreased in power and I panicked. I had 4 days to get it figured out and repaired to make it back to WA on time. My brother recommended Padilla's and commented he is fast, efficient and helped him save money on the two prior occasions that he brought his vehicles in for repair. I brought it in and Padilla did a diagnotic and discovered I had low fuel pressure. He recommended to change the fuel filter first since it was the cheapest option to begin with. He ordered the part and replaced the same day. The car ran great but then the light came back on, so he recommended to change the fuel valve and fuel pump. Car ran like a champ after and I made the 14 hour drive back to WA on time and no problems whatsoever. Everything my brother said was true, Padilla was extremely kind, service with a smile, knowledgeable and fast. He diagnosed, ordered the parts and repaired my vehicle within two days. Highly recommend, I wish he had his shop in WA. I would bring any of my vehicles to him at first sign of trouble. Thank you amigo! You saved the day! ✌️😉
