Peoples Car Wash is my new favorite neighborhood car wash! The staff is extremely friendly, the service is excellent, the car wash is IMPECABLE, & the prices are UNBELIEVABLE! They do a great job, pay close attention to detail, and truly care about the car. On top of that the owner gave me tips on when to get new tires, when I should replace my windshield wipers, etc. and in general was very very knowledgeable about cars. This was a great experience and I will most definitely be going back. Can't beat an exterior/interior wash including tire polish for only $15!

I arrived at 3:30 on a Friday afternoon, and, although I was there for two hours, it was worth it. The people did a terrific job with my car - hand washing of the exterior, thorough cleaning of the inside and outside of windows, trunk and interior of the car. Friendly and a great price: $25 + a generous tip which they deserved. I will definitely return!

Very thorough car wash and nice staff. Got the exterior and interior basic. The outside was shiny no water spots and the interior was literally squeaky clean! They washed all my dirty mats and wiped every nook and cranny. Even cleaned the rear view camera which is so easy to miss. Ignore the negative reviews here about the wait-they take their time because they are thorough! $30 cash only.

Got a Groupon for an interior and exterior clean- these guys are amazing! My car was beat up from two dogs and multiple kids and they made it look brand new. Highly recommend.

I went there on a Saturday morning for a quick exterior car wash and I was lucky that there was no queue. The price quoted was $15 (for a sedan) and the estimated time was 15 mins, which turned out to be pretty accurate. The end result was pretty good and the staff were friendly. Professional, efficient and clean. I would definitely visit again.

These guys are extremely hard working and dedicated. They are only out to there to seek utmost perfection in cleaning your car in the best fashion, thereby making you satisfied. It will take 1-2 hours, but will be worth your wait: your car will look brand new no matter what shape it was in before. Look no further if you need your car cleaned- interior or exterior- you will not be disappointed. It is really a car wash for the people!

I hate to leave poor reviews of businesses and it is rare that I feel moved to write one. Having said that, I have a major complaint about this place. As other reviewers have mentioned, it took exactly 3 hours from start to finish for a "Basic" wash! The wash coast $30 dollars which includes a cleaning inside and outside. I think that it is absurd to have to wait 3 hours for this. My second complaint is that this was NOT COMMUNICATED TO ME. To the owner, you MUST set expectations to the customer upon arrival. Had you done this, you would save yourself from a lot of customer dissatisfaction, there were at least 3 of us who were visibly frustrated waiting under the tent. You can tell that people are getting anxious as they are continuously sighing and looking over at their car to see if any progress has been made. I don't really know what the process is for handling the washes efficiently but there doesn't really seem to be one. After the cars are watered and soap, they drive them up in a queue at which point it seems like people randomly come up every 20 minutes to wipe something down. It would seem to me like it would make more sense to group cars by type of wash. For example, basic washes could go in one lane and thereby move quicker while premium washes could go in another. There doesn't seem to be any sort of effort or care to make it any more efficient. The final product is very underwhelming considering the time your leave your car on the premises for 3 hours. The wash is not bad by any means but it is certainly not perfect. There was still plenty of scuffs and dirt on my car . I would say that they take their time but I swear, after the wash part, it seems like like my car sat there for 2 hours and was only given attention for 20 minutes max. So 10 - 15 minutes of wash time and 20 minutes of detailing/cleaning inside + 2.5 hours of just sitting there. You can get a cheaper/quicker wash that is at least 75% as good somewhere else. Anyways, my main gripe is that they do not tell you it will be a 3 hour wait. How hard is it to do this?!? Waste of time overall.

They were super busy when I came in, so it took longer than the 3 hours they promise on the website, but it was so worth it. I’ve gotten my car detailed for cheaper before, but it wasn’t as good a job as these guys did. They were all super friendly and responsive too. I paid to get the interior of my truck shampooed & detailed. It was covered in grime and dog hair, and had smoke smell engrained in the fabric. Not only did they clean it up amazingly, but they washed the outside of my truck, and wheels, and even scrubbed out the truck bed, which I was not expecting. Had the service done yesterday, and today it looks new inside.

No doubt they provide outstanding detailing here. But they always lie about the timing which makes it difficult to plan accordingly. My last visit I had to come back and forth three times before my car was finished over 5 hours later than they said it would take. When my car was “ready” to be picked up, my interior mats were missing and the seats were soaked, which they said would be no problem if I left the heater on for 20 mins….I left my engine running with the heater on full blast for nearly an hour, and the interior still had mildew the next day. The owner offered to reimburse me for the missing mats but not the service. Will not be returning here nor would I recommend anyone I care about to come here.

Just had my car shampoo and steamed on the inside. Process took 4 1/2 hours, which felt rather long. Biggest concern though was when I picked up the vehicle the seats and most of the interior were still soaking wet...much more than the mild dampness I expected. I was told to just keep my heat running in my car for 30 minutes to help it dry. This seemed like an unusual recommendation and not very professional. I'm hoping our seats dry overnight, as we have a road trip to set out on in the morning. Also hoping it won't cause mold or mildew down the road. Additionally, the guy who cleaned my car lost my keys and spent a good 20 minutes trying to find them, after hours once the shop had officially closed. The guys at Peoples Car Wash were extremely friendly though, and it appears they do great with basic exterior and interior cleanings. Shampoo and steaming seems to be out of their element though. I am all about supporting small businesses, but I'm sad that the quality of the work done did not reflect the price I paid.

Only go here if you want to wait hours for your car to be cleaned. We were told it would take 45- an hour. We came back after an hour and were told it would take 40 more minutes, which resulted in us having to cancel later appointments. They are not honest about the time so we could not plan accordingly, I don’t mind waiting but it was the fact that they blatantly lied about the timing. We dropped our car off at 12:30 and it was ready at 3pm. We waited 2.5 hours to have our car cleaned. I could have cleaned it faster at home with a lint roller if I was aware of how long it would take. The car was spotless though, so the quality of the clean is great

2.5 HOURS for basic wash of a two seater despite making an appointment!! When I got very annoyed after patiently waiting for two hours, they said they'd a backlog of cars due to a technical difficulty earlier. I buy that but better customer service would be to set expectations when I came in and offer to reschedule rather than keep me waiting for so long. The fact that they were still accepting walk ins while scheduled folks waited and waited told me that they had no respect for people's time and schedule. The cleaning was meticulous but that doesn't change my review. I didn't get the tires cleaned as I couldn't afford to wait beyond 2.5 hours. Still happy to have paid the full amount and a generous tip as the men worked hard and meant well.

Ok, so these guys did as good a job as one can expect from a quicky car wash. The problem was that the job was not quick at all. What should have taken 15-20 minutes took one and a half hours! There were just three guys working, I repeat, just three, so no matter how hard they tried, and they did, the line of cars just kept growing. Peoples Car Wash needs to hire more people. PS. My name is not Steve. ;)

Peoples Car Wash did a great job with my auto detailing and is a good value for the service. I drove into the small lot, and Mustafa greeted me and asked me exactly what I wanted to get done. I checked their website to see a list of available services and already knew I wanted to get the full car detailing with the clay and hand wax which costs about $150. They were able to get me started right away, and I was done in about an hour. My car hasn't been this smooth and shiny since the day I drove it off the showroom!

I've seen this place on the corner for a couple years now. I always chose not to go there because it's kind of in the ghetto and would rather go to Berkeley and spend more money. Went there for the first time yesterday and had a great experience. Everybody was friendly respectful and obviously takes great pride in their job. this is the only place in the East Bay I'm going to get my car done and I would recommend it to all my friends

Got a Groupon for this. Didn't have too high expectations, just wanted a decent job on the interior. I hinted to them that I'll be willing to tip (which I did on the full amount), just to make sure they'll put in some extra effort if necessary and don't go easy on it because it's a Groupon and all that. Unfortunately, to no avail. Some areas were just ignored, there was garbage stuck in the back seat armrest, sand left in the trunk, etc. Also, the car was ready 1 hr later than they told us. "Detail" as the description of this service is probably not accurate, let alone "premium". I'd rather pay a full price elsewhere and be confident in the result... or use a self-serve vacuum to achieve similar results at a fraction of the price. Either way, this place will not be my choice next time, unfortunately.

Complete Detail Completely Missed the Details! Do NOT bring your car here. I purchased the Complete Detailed (outside an in) for $330 and am extremely disappointed. When I walked up to get my car, there was still a huge bird poop on the hood they hadn't even removed until I pointed it out. That was just the start. The front was still riddled with bug spatters and stains as though it hadn't even been washed. And it looked like it hadn't been waxed either, despite the description says clay and polish. I complained and started pointing out all the places they missed and then they gave me a hard time about pointing out their errors. They finally gave me a $30 discount, bringing the total down to $300 for what should have been a $100 job at most. Total rip-off; you don't get what the website says. Finally, I dropped my car off at my apt time of 930. They told me it would be done at 4pm so I could pick up my kid. It wasn't finished until 445pm. I had tried calling at 330pm to get an ETA and no one even answered or called me back. (The owner commented below my frustration was due to them being late, but like the quality of the work, that is simply false. Pls see the attached pictures of their 'detailed' work for yourself.)

NEVER AGAIN! Wet, moldy, mildew, filthy, and smelly. Horrible customer service! ZERO STAR EXPERIENCE! My car was "detailed" by People's Car Wash on November 5. This has been the worst experience and customer service I have ever received from any company I've done business with. After using a Groupon, I paid a total of $271 for their "Complete Detail Interior & Exterior" detail. They originally told me it would take 2 hours to detail, it took 3.5 hours. What I received back was absolutely not acceptable! The car was thoroughly soaked from the shampoo treatment and even though I followed their instructions of keeping the windows open and blasting the heat, the car was still wet two days later when I had to drive it to work. The smell in the car was unbearable. The mold and mildew had set in. As I began to inspect more, the neglect of the detailers at People's Car Wash began to unfold. There was still dog hair all over the floors and back seats. The glove compartment, ceiling, center console, and driving column were UNTOUCHED. The smell from the car being soaked and not vacuum-dried properly was overwhelming. It was so bad that I couldn't even drive the car home from work with the windows down. I spent nearly 4 hours (and nearly $120 in cleaning supplies) after work in a Target parking lot having to deep clean my upholstery, clean out the leftover dog hair, and wipe down the surfaces to clean the dirt off still. My partner emailed People's Car Wash with the photos attached here to ask them if this was acceptable work that they felt proud of. One of their staff members, Marcus Flowers, quickly called back apologizing for the subpar work and asked if we could bring the vehicle back in to be re-detailed. As I no longer trusted Marcus or People's Car Wash, we told him we did not feel comfortable bringing the car back to him after I had already detailed it myself. I simply wanted my $271 back so we could go our separate ways. This is where the horrible customer service came in. After my partner had been playing phone-tag with Marcus for a week and a half. We finally were able to get a hold of Marcus and he had a laundry list of reasons why he could not process a refund for the "work" that was done. He wouldn't even let my partner speak on the phone because he always had something to say. Finally, I took the phone and told Marcus that he could either process the refund, or I would be posting this review. His immediate response was a threat and suggested I "come visit him" so we can handle this like men. Excuse me, but threatening physical harm to your customers because you don't like what they have to say is not an appropriate response. What ensued afterwards was Marcus continued to speak to me in a condescending and belittling tone and still tried to make excuses for why the work was not done as expected. He tried putting the blame on me saying: "Did you know how dirty your car was?" - Yes... that's why I paid you nearly $300 to detail it. After he started threatening me with lawsuits if I posted this review, I ended up hanging up because he was not interested in anything else I had to say. Marcus Flowers and the People's Car Wash stole $271 from a first time customer. The "detail" job they did left my car in worse condition then when I brought it to them in the first place. I am shocked by the service I received from Marcus and People's Car Wash, especially after seeing so many other people's positive reviews. This whole situation has been a huge, expensive disappointment. Please save yourself the time, frustration, and money and take your business somewhere else.
