Changed A/C compressor last year failed again after only 13 months (two of which I was outside of the country). Got told I had to replace once again compressor, evaporator,…and when I went to the shop to take my car back they said after a quick review I just need my POA to be change. Wondering if that was the problem all along, also wonder if last year’s installation was done properly since it is not very common for the system to have an issue this fast.

They won’t always have everything. But from experience and compared to it’s other facilities. This Pep Boys in particular provides the best service in the whole island. Tires, Batteries, Oil Change, Break Panel Pins. Their much better prepared and have a greater number of staff all ready to fit your vehicles needs.

Store wanted to charge me $170.00 more for adding/removing wheel alignment shims which is the manufacturer's procedure to align my car. If you accept a car for wheel alignment that has the shim based system, you have to work with these to align the car. It is ok to pay for the additional shims if needed, but not more than the alignment cost itself.

Pep boys attention was not bad at all, but some customers like myself will always ask for proof of their work, specially if we also have a specialty other degree in technical automotive with the highest notes in the area. They couldn’t even showed me the vehicle alignment graphics, which should be a must. Now wonder why their businesses have declined so bad.

I check my vehicle myself every weekend: oil, coolant, brake fluid levels, tire pressure... Right before this oil change, coolant in auto was bright green before service. After the oil change, this weekend, when I was checking my vehicle at home, as every weekend, I realize coolant is dark brown and I remember getting from the advisor this recommendation of coolant flush service. My auto is a hybrid with 50K miles and has 2 coolant reservoirs. The hybrid one is bright green and the other is dark brown now. It seems as if someone had mixed it with another coolant with different color. Never happened this to me before. I'm so disapppointed...

Went in for an oil change, they tell me theres only two cars in front of me. Started waiting around 12:20 pm… by 3 pm they call me to offer me other services, i tell them no, just the oil change. At about 3:30 pm i go tell them about the extended wait time and they told me they were stuck trying to reset the mileage🤡…they charge me and give me the keys. When i checked under the hood, i noticed the coolant level was almost at the overflow point and there were a lot of wet parts near the alternator and belt. Also the coolant seemed to be a different color. I opened the coolant reservoir and noticed drops of clear liquid which i deduced to be water or a mix of another coolant and water. I hope it is coolant or distilled water because if I notice any sign of tap water motor oxidation in the upcoming months, I will seek legal assistance.

I need a air conditioning service... Another Pep Boys store recommended them... I go three times (it's the one near my house) and the technician is not available... I left my info for calling when the technician was available and nothing happen... Finally I go to another place to get fixed... Is awful that the Pep Boys philosophy is not well implemented in all stores and worst, you lost a valuable and loyal customer... I will never go there...

You have to be very clear and have to review the invoice for the work to be done before you agree to pay for the work to be done. I priced a service and thought it was too expensive and said no to the service and they did it anyways like I had requested it when I had not I just was pricing it. I wished it had been better because it would have been very convenient for me to go to that location. 😒

2.5 hours to change ONE tire and if I come to change my tire why do you have my hood popped open talking about other services I need. JUST CHANGE MY TIRE. How can a simple request which WE AS A CLIENT PAY FOR to change ONE tire take 2.5 hours.

Customer service was terrible at Pepboys. I was the only one in line and waited a long time while the employee stayed on the computer without even saying “I’ll be with you shortly.” I explained that I heard a noise in my car, and they told me it was the brakes, even though the brakes look fine and work well. To make things worse, Pepboys no longer sells auto parts like before; now they only handle mechanical work. Nothing they say feels trustworthy, and the way they communicate is unprofessional. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Came in for a simple oil change and tire rotation but ended up waiting over two hours. While I trust the quality of the mechanics, the long wait time for basic maintenance was disappointing. Next time, I’ll likely choose a quick-lube shop instead of returning here.

Second time we've come here where after we agreed on the price/service, they call 2 hours later with an excuse why the price is significantly higher. Hard to tell whether they were legitimate excuses or they were trying to get us to pay more. This last time they said they accidentally wrote down the wrong tire size, and the only stock they have of the correct tire size is an extra $60 per tire and doesnt include an alignment like the selected tire. The guy had walked out to the car specifically to look at what size tires with a notebook in hand and then just "wrote it down wrong?" I mightve believed him if when we came previosly for our other car, they hadn't told us about an "issue" that was going to cost an extra $800, that 2 other mechanics didn't find.
