I was having issues with my engine and needed to get my spark plugs replaced. I already had a diagnostic ran on it and gave him the codes when I brought the car. He messaged me after and said the service would be over $800; $200 for labor and $600 for parts. The parts bought from a dealership were only $330 so I denied the service and when I came to get my car back, he said that I owed him almost $200 for a diagnostic. I had already given him the codes and the diagnostic I had run was free (as it is most places). He is scamming college students for both part prices and diagnostic prices. Do not come here, take your services elsewhere.

I came in to get an exhaust pipe repaired. He identified the location of the issue straightaway and got it fixed within the day. Pete was very easy to deal with over text and very responsive to the messages. I like the fact that he checked with me about each issue he identified and gave me a price before he went ahead with the repair only when I was good for it (i.e. no BS and hidden fee to deal with). I can easily recommend to anyone who asks about a mechanic.

Pete is awesome, always helps me with whatever I need. I’ve had mechanics be super condescending to me because I’m a woman and I have never gotten that from Pete. He is professional, honest, and kind. Highly recommend going to him!!!

Pete’s Mobile is the real deal. My Tacoma had two misfires on my 3 and 5 I tried going to a big repair shop unfortunately they wouldn’t be able to take care of it there. Had to wait a week before they can even try to repair. So I looked around and Pete’s mobile came up so I texted got a response and within 24 hr my truck was up and running smooth Pete made sure that my truck was running before I even left his place. Thanks Pete and your team

I had a great experience with Pete. Ford quoted me an outrageous price for the same work, but he did the job quickly, professionally, and at a fair price. Highly recommend if you want honest, quality service without getting overcharged!

Pete has saved my life twice now. The 1st time when my car broke down from a failed starter, which he offered to pickup himself for replacement. And again today when my car lid was mysteriously jammed shut. Both times he came to me, really helpful to avoid unwanted tow charges. Efficient & affordable!

Pete’s the guy. Helps you learn and won’t try to gouge you. Was patient when I was mistaken on a part sent to the shop during a full engine replacement. Gave me a good idea of what else was going on diagnostically after some poor maintenance on my side. Even gave me a ride downtown so I’d have a shorter walk home during that fiasco!

I want to give a big shoutout to Mr. Pete for getting my 73 impala motor rite. He came through, figured out exactly what was going on, and fixed the issue the right way. No shortcuts, no guessing , just real knowledge and real work. Good sense of humor and a great crew , will definitely recommend

Avoid at all costs and take your car somewhere else. Bad business, bad attitude, and unprofessional. Edited: My wife took her car in to be repaired and he told us we were SOL and that we should sell the car to him. Said the work was not worth it. While the car is old, we thought that was all strange, so we got a second opinion from another mechanic. The second opinion quoted us 1/4 of what he did, told us the car was NOT SOL, and said that we were 100% being scammed. As you can see from the response here and to other reviews, the attitude is EXTREMELY present if you do not agree to get the work done with them. Good luck if you do.

CURSED ME OUT over miscommunication even after my attempt to apologize and deescalate his behavior. HORRIBLE BUSINESS MAN. Is there really ever an appropriate reason to curse out a customer over clarification? I’d encourage those who are considering his services to look at his bad reviews as those reviews mean more than any amount of good ones! I hope that this feedback encourages the shop to improve its customer service practices and maybe encourage the owner to reflect why’d he respond in such a horrible manner as an OWNER and ADULT. Read if you’d like: I recently had an experience that I feel compelled to share. I arrived today to pick up my vehicle and cover the cost, he was initially respectful and attentive to the reasoning behind how my vehicle ending up in the shop (my diagnosis regarding my health-he even laughed with me when I made a joke); However, things took a negative turn when I expressed a misunderstanding regarding the cost. Despite my apology and attempt to deescalate his overreaction, he responded by CURSING at me almost immediately and talking down to me about my diagnosis, which was unprofessional. As a customer, I cannot fathom how an owner would react in such a manner, especially when dealing with someone who is trying to clarify a misunderstanding and someone who is being apologetic (it was a mistake on his end that led to the miscommunication). His behavior escalated to the point where it made me cry, and I was labeled a "nutcase." he was unable to calm himself down after I reminded him that I apologized and was trying to deescalate the interaction. Additionally, there was a concerning inconsistency regarding the parts used for my car. After I made a payment, I thought to ask if the part was OEM (it was just a question not a concern-if it was a concern, I would’ve asked before the service) which seems to be what offended him first. However, when my partner followed up with a question on the phone (he called), he contradicted that claim and said it was not OEM. This lack of honesty is troubling, especially for customers relying on clear and accurate information. The owner then proceeded to disrespect my partner as well acting as if he was giving him “attitude” when in fact he was calm. This owner gets OFFENDED easily and becomes ANGRY even when trying to clarify what led to misunderstanding on his end in text message. While I understand the stress that can come with running a business, open communication and respect for customers should be prioritized. It’s always acceptable to ask questions, even after payment, and a little kindness goes a long way. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect these values. DO NOT COME HERE. If you are going to come here, don’t be fooled by his “kindness,” as he will use whatever you shared with him, against you!!! *he in fact was in the wrong as he’s the one that posted the incorrect cost in text message-I inquired shortly after realizing it (apparently, it was the most offensive thing I could’ve done to warrant such a reaction) to get clarification, only. My vehicle is worse now than when it when it was taken into the job.

Pete is the man! The battery died on my car and I had an important trip to take the next morning. I was in a bad spot but Pete saved the day. He came out to my house at 8 pm, confirmed that the battery was the issue, and replaced it. The car was good to go after 15 minutes and Pete even checked the oil for me knowing that I had a lengthy drive the following day. Prices were more than fair and the service even better. If you find yourself in a similar jam and don't know what to do, call Pete.

Avoid this mechanic at all costs. He will say whatever it takes to get you to bring your car to him. Once that happens, the focus shifts to getting as much money from you as possible, even without doing the work. In my case, he claimed he could fix my car and asked for a down payment to order a part. That part was never ordered, and he has since stopped responding to my calls and messages. The experience has been extremely disappointing. What makes this worse is that I had already seen reviews describing similar behavior, but I ignored them because his shop was close to me. That was a mistake. He is rarely at the workshop and instead leaves two employees who do nothing but tell you to “call Pete,” even when he doesn't answers. If you want to avoid stress, wasted time, and lost money, think twice before using this mechanic. Based on my experience, he is unreliable and far more interested in taking money than actually fixing cars. Save yourself the hassle and find a trustworthy mechanic elsewhere.

Pete saved the day for us! My niece had a dead battery and urgently needed to get it replaced. Pete promised he would handle it and he did with clear communications, a caring attitude, and sensitivity. It meant a great deal since this was a new experience for a college student and he was super nice and efficient. Highly recommend!

My daughter had just pulled in to her parking garage about 7pm Wednesday when her car died. I called Pete and he was able to tow it that evening to his shop. He had the alternator and battery replaced by Friday at a very reasonable price. I strongly recommend this shop.

Wouldn’t recommend this man to my worst enemy. A complete pompous man with a horrible attitude. Cursed out my partner for asking if my part was from the original manufacturer. His attitude towards customers is honestly the most foul in all of Athens. Please do not go here to have any repairs done you will be scammed and made too look like a fool. He takes advantage of people when they are at there worst. He will be reported to the better business bureau. update** the fact that the owner needs to post details that are not relevant in the situation is interesting (the ADHD and single mother reference)-it says a lot about his character and professionalism * Mind you, he’s mentioning details that are not bringing attention to his inability to provide a completed service (vehicle is worse) as a gentleman or “trained” mechanic. HE lacks the authenticity to agree that what he stated in a text message was not accurate to payment made (all that was needed was clarification about any confusion)… quite interesting that Pete is leaving out the part where the individual attempted to deescalate out of fear but he felt the need to continue escalating out of immaturity. he proceeded to belittle them, scream, and curse at them so disrespectfully that it made them shake from his inappropriate behavior (not something he will take responsibility for) then he belittled them further about their ADHD specifically and proceeded to kick them out via yelling and harassment. YIKES. instead of replying what is relevant to this review, he’s stating someone’s private diagnosis. is this who you want as a mechanic? He can’t acknowledge his inappropriate behavior as an adult because he didn’t like that someone was asking for clarification about their bill. WHICH IS APPROPRIATE TO DO EVEN AFTER YOU’VE PAID. ITS CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Vehicle I began making a terrible rattling noise not even an hour after leaving shop. In addition, he stated that individual wanted to renegotiate cost… but the bill WAS paid. she just came in after to get clarification as she felt she was double charged. when she realized she wasn’t and that he made a mistake in his text message that had made her think she was in fact double-charged (simple mistake), she apologized for any confusion she might’ve added to the situation but he cursed her out anyway. There is nothing more to the matter Pete. you are disrespectful and you are trying to rephrase what happened for who knows what reason.

We sent Pete a text late on a Sunday night (based on feedback from the UGA Parent FB Page) when our son returned from break to a dead battery in his vehicle. He was on location by noon the next morning and called us with a diagnosis- the car needed a new battery and auxillary battery. He had it taken care of in a jiffy and called/sent texts throughout the whole process as we are states away. He was wonderful to work with and I highly recommend his services. It was great knowing that even though we couldn't be there, someone knowledgable and reliable could give our son a hand.

My husband’s truck was leaking oil and the Ford dealership quoted us an extremely high price. Pete was outstanding. He was honest, fairly priced, and did excellent work. We’re so glad we found him and will definitely be coming back.

I visited Pete Autoshop to have my alternator replaced in my Kia Sorento. As someone who values good service and effective communication, I was eager to find a reliable mechanic. I received a few quotes, but when it came to affordability and efficiency, Pete Autoshop exceeded my expectations. They went above and beyond my expectations, to the point where I will be seeking their services for all of my car repairs or maintenance in the future. It’s challenging to find a good mechanic, but Pete Autoshop truly stands out. I couldn’t be more pleased and satisfied.
