1997 Toyota 4Runner, rwd, 4Cl - Came through the shop due to transmission slipping out of gear on 3, 4, 5th gears. Needed to ship the car to the US within a week, and rely on a service that would execute within the time frame and relay info in English. Came in first thing one morning, Alberto (owner) did a quick diagnostic and test drive, leading to a recommendation for full transmission repair. Because he was going to be out of town that week, he found a spare transmission (exact part) in the shop that he prioritzed for a full rebuild while he was away! By the time he came back, the rebuilt transmission was complete and took a day to install. This was super helpful, as I was able to continue to use the vehicle until the day of install. Transmission repair comes with three year warranty and maintenance, which came in hand the next day, as the car would not stay in "park." Alberto had the 4Runner back on the lift ASAP and within an hour, sent me away a VERY happy customer. Highly recommend this shop for outstanding professionalism and friendly touch. They even clean your car before handing turning it over.

Diligent, professional, amazing service. Transmission issues are usually a pain and a conundrum. Alberto the owner was very nice, transparent, professional, and caring. He doesn’t intake vehicles and let them sit in his lot. No, you call for an appointment, pay a small deposit and right then they’ll start working on your issue. 2 days after my appointment he came to my house to diagnose the transmission problem I had. After diagnosis and a week + prior to my appointment he has already ordered and received all the parts needed for the repair. Once it was my appointment time, he called a tow truck the day before and they started on my Jeep at 8am the day of my appointment. Throughout the process he would send me progress videos every 2-3 hours. After addressing the main issue, there was still an electrical fault. It took them another 1.5 days to diagnose and fix. But Alberto is so diligent and persistent, he wouldn’t release my vehicle to me before he got to the bottom of the electrical issue, even though it’s his specialty. Before they start working, they wrap the seats, shifter, steering wheel, handbrake in plastic. And when i went to go to pickup my vehicle it was freakin detailed. I’m talking vacuumed, washed, tire and wheel shine.🤯 I’ve never experienced such service from an independent shop not on the island, not mainland. By far too recommendation. I can’t thank them enough. And his pricing was beyond fair.

I live in San Juan and was having transmission trouble. I did not know of any mechanics and was nervous about just calling randomly. I started here. Luis Alberto, the owner, answered the phone. He spoke excellent English and was very professional and knowledgeable. He went on a drive with me and diagnosed the problem. He made a small adjustment, told me what to do and didn’t even charge me!!! I recommend this place 100%!

I was having what I thought was a transmission problem with my car. I called and made an appointment with the owner (Alberto). When the time came he was very professional, took his time testing the car and told me that the problem was related to the car’s computer, not the transmission. Not only he pointed me in the right direction but refused to charge me for his time. He only asked for an honest review if I was able. Well, I am able and highly recommend this man and his business.

Very professional, honest and flexible. I went to another transmission repair shop and they told me it was going to cost me $1,200 and if they opened it and found something else it would probably cost more. So I went to Luis for a second opinion and he was so honest it turned out that with the part and labor it only cost $250!!! On top of that he was completely booked with big jobs and still managed to fit me in! He sends photos through the process and the repair I had done only took 3 hours. Car is running smoothly now, I highly recommend!

Took my car on to get checked as I felt some hesitation in the gear changes in a used car I purchased. They scanned it with no error, took to for a test drive and could see what I was feeling but didn’t seem to think it was something the needed maintenance. She he search my VIN with the transmission manufacture and maintenance log to see if it needed an oil change. ( I didn’t know you could just change the oil whenever you needed as transmissions are more specific) he was very careful about not changing anything the was not needed. The next day he sent me what the manufacture had emailed him, to go to a Honda dealer and get a a software update for the time changing. What a legend. You can tell they just care about what they are doing, no fluff. I would go no where else. Thank you guys

Great customer service, I had two different mechanics tell me my vehicle needed a transmission rebuild, and I got a diagnostic here and found out that wasn't the issue whatsoever. Saved me over $3,000. Thanks for the honesty, this guy realizes something most other mechanics don't, which is being honest, doing good business and actually picking up the phone and being responsive will bring you much, much more money then the opposite. It's very rare to recieve good customer service from most mechanic shops. This place stands on it's own. I didn't know where to go to fix my car's transmission, so I looked online. I found this place with the best rating in reviews, they weren't wrong. This shop has been around for almost 70 years. From my first call there I spoke directly with it's owner Alberto, which surprised me. This guy knows what he's talking about and his team really know their trade. He was very kind and took the time to answer my questions and doubts. He didn't jump right at me like other mechanics do sometimes. Gave me a moment to think about it and sent me all the information needed about parts, labor, guarantee & cost all detailed over text. I gave it shot, made my appointment and hoped for a good outcome. He sent a tow truck to get my car and immediately got to work. They were very professional, keeping me updated everyday with text and videos, showing everything they were doing to the transmisson and explaining the steps to get the job done right. This was not an easy task. My car was fixed in 5 days work. The day of my pick up, they had even washed my car, inside & out. Are you kidding me? Who does this anymore? Thank you Alberto. Great customer service all around. I truely recommend this shop.
