I would never recommend this place! Dropped my car off at 11:45 went back at 4pm and the owner realized my car wasn’t even looked at! Wanted an oil change and was charged $92 and they used cheap oil! My car was done in 10 min, after the fact and I am disgusted he had the nerve to charge me! Horrible place!

Terrible shop bad service wouldn’t pass inspection because of 35 percent window tint when more then half of cars in nyc are tinted and passed at any other shop because my car is all black. Don’t go here I realized why there was no other cars in the shop this place sucks lmaooo.

*WARNING* : Unreliable advice. Questionable Mechanical guidance. Get a second opinion...esp if you're from out of town. STORY : Drove 8 hours on a Friday to NY on an interstate and at the halfway mark, approached several cars and a policeman on the shoulder. Found out why they were there, a tailpipe/muffler was strewn across left passing lane and I ran over it. Got out and inspected all 4 tires and everything seemed ok. Drove a little bit at reduced speed to check suspension/tires (tires had pressure sensors and showed fine). No issues moving so I drove the remaining 4hrs conservative at first and progressively faster to well over the speed limit, with no issues. Arrived at Tuckahoe and as I'm parallel parking/reversing i hear a low creaking sound from rear driver's side. I found Rocco's opened 7:30am in the morning and was there first thing on Saturday to have it checked out. ROCCO'S : An "Employee" called me back and said that the minivan was undriveable, needed to weld the suspension back on the body/frame, and it was likely going to need a week due to insurance and approx $3500. I nearly dropped the phone. I called my insurance. I took the minivan back for a second opinion. I was told not to drive faster than 40mph and not to put my family in it. SECOND OPINION: CIty World TOYOTA SERVICE reviewed the car and determined the tires were worn but fine to drive on. Brakes needed to be replaced. Fuel line Charcoal filter was slightly damaged but could be replaced eventually. Immediate cost for damaged plastic parts $500 parts/$500 labour. I requested them to analyze the car by driving it and diagnosing the sound. They reiterated the brakes were producing the noise due to how far gone they were. Gladly paid the $250 analysis cost to their professional staff who patiently listened to my concerns. Gladly paid for a rental to drive my wife/kids back for piece of mind. The following weekend I returned back to Tuckahoe with rental and drove the minivan from the Bronx another 8hrs, back out of state, at normal and excess speeds without any issues. Took the minivan to my local mechanic and changed all 4 tires and brakes for $1000. Minivan is driving fine, 2k miles later.... $750 in rental, dealership analysis $1000 basic car repairs i was going to complete anyway CONCLUSION : DO NOT ALLOW THIS SHOP TO DIAGNOSE YOUR CAR. YOU WILL BE GIVEN AN INFLATED PRICE IN HIS FAVOUR. I do not know his workmanship nor his mechanical skills. *ENTER AT OWN RISK*

I am SO glad I chose Rocco's after reading multiple Google reviews on local garages. He is the BEST and I will tell you why. I am out of town and my car is not starting after multiple attempts. I quickly read some of the reviews about auto repairs not just tires, oil changes or tow's. I called AAA after speaking to Rocco. He came across humble, friendly and confident (40yrs experience). He was 0.5 miles away and even came over to look at the car before the tow truck got there. He quickly diagnosed the car's problem once in the garage, ordered parts right there and said it would be ready tomorrow; easing any concerns. He called the car rental place, said they were on their way adding it is a reasonable rate ($47 total ). While waiting for the car rental pick up a woman was in the waiting room and I asked her how long she has been coming to Rocco's. She quickly and proudly said her while family has been coming to him for years adding she has never had a problem, he always fixes the car the first time. He said that day and when I picked up my car he likes helping people in distress. Seriously what a good guy. As an ER nurse I told him he has a similar role just not medical. I offered him money as I took my keys and he insisted no over and over again...... "you will offend me"..... A guy from A&D's sent by AAA came to attempt to start it played with the battery, this and that and called for the tow truck. They said it will be here in 15 minutes and told him that I wanted to go to Rocco's despite him trying to talk me in to A&D's. Shortly after I got another call from AAA saying another company was on its way... you decide....

Had a broken assembly piece for my passengers side mirror. the entire manual mirror was functioning fine .. he said he didn’t have the assembly piece and would have to replace the entire mirror for 305 dollars not including the labor !! i bought the assembly piece myself from honda for 60 bucks went to 3 different body shops & they said they would do it for 60 bucks. Rocco said it would be even more work & cost 500 dollars. this man is FOS and is going to rip you off….. !!! go elsewhere. Can’t be trusted with pricing & they are liars.

My partner made an appointment here for an inspection and when he arrived the mechanics were extremely rude. Chatting on the phone to their buddies as if they weren’t working. They could not spare him a moment to touch base on what needed to get done and how long it would take. When working out what needed to be done over the phone again the mechanics were very short and uninformative. They even “misheard” when my partner clarified what needed to be done. We were not shocked because it was clear from the start they don’t listen to their customers or take their time. It’s a shame used our hard earned money on a place like this. We literally paid to be ignored and experience some of the worst customer service we have ever dealt with.

Went here to get my fluids done according to the Lexus manual. I keep my cars up to date on latest maintenance. Ten minute later the owner comes in and says the fluids are fine but all four brakes are up. Oddly enough I had just gotten the front bakes done. And the rears had 10mm shown to me while that work was getting done. Again, odd. He also mentioned all four tire need doing. That one I knew. I do my tires at Costco. I explain this. He then goes on to explain to me that Costco uses tier 2 tires. I thought that hilarious. In my mind. Not nice laughing in peoples faces, you know. I politely refused. But was already put off by the tactics and was ready to go. I immediately go to get my car but it's on the lift. Car is getting lowered and the placement is incorrect. One of the four points, the rear drivers side, is off. I thought nothing of it till I got home. Because of this, the lower portion of the side skirt crushed. I winced as I saw this. One inch crack. I went back and relayed all the findings to the owner. He said he doubts it was them even though we both noticed the incorrect placement. And both kinda winced at seeing it. The side skirt was bulging noticeably. When I mentioned that moment he acquiesced reluctantly. This is where it gets maddening. He goes on the admit fault but that they would take care of it. By now, if you are old enough and experienced enough, you understand the very significant hesitation in working with this type of situation at all. Why would I let them work on my car with this very eventful, short, history. Maybe it's because I don't look like a local? I don't know. I wonder though. I went further away to source a shop with good reviews to avoid this mess. So I avoided further mess and chose the court of public opinion. And also chose to deal with THEIR damage myself. Avoid. Unless you are one of those folks who they know, or the locals in their club(?) who leaves them those excellent reviews.

For a basic car, you’re fine going here - but don’t bring a car you really care about. Rocco didn’t listen to what I asked for, gave me the wrong non-OEM tires when I specifically asked for them by name, and took 3 weeks to change the (wrong) tires and do an inspection - they clearly forgot about my car til I called for an update after 2 weeks of nothing. It now seems to have developed a pulsating feeling while braking but I’ll take it elsewhere to see how that happened… They’re nice enough (minus the dog), and they’re a fair shop, but don’t expect your car to get any special treatment. You get what they want you to get.

Very honest and meets all expectations. I've been to Rocco a few times now for service; always received fair and courteous on time service. Most recently I had to return for a power steering pump repair that was replaced 11 months ago; he gladly replaced it free of charge as a defective warranty item. Receptionist Tina is excellent also.
