I took my jeep to the dealership because a reflector light on my fender popped out. The dealership quoted me $468! I stopped by Rouse's and talked to Jim... He was able to replace the part good as new for $100 total! Rouse's has earned my business tenfold. What a great small town business! I would give them more stars if I could.

First time visitor. I stopped in because front turn signal light was out and hard to get at so Rich said let me take a look. He took the car in the shop and pulled it back around in 10 minutes fixed! The charge was $5.00 for the bulb and I asked him if I could pay him for his time or buy him a coffee and he said absolutely not! Good old fashioned customer service! Also, I was visiting with a gentleman that was also there and he said he had been taking his cars to Rouse’s for 30 years! Tough to find that kind of customer loyalty today but after meeting Rich today I can understand why!

I could not recommend Jim or his establishment more—and I do, every chance I get. Libertyville has a lot to offer, but having a mechanic you can trust with your life is at the top of the list when you’re a support system of one. Affordable, reliable, transparent—Rouse’s is the only place it’s guaranteed you’re always in both capable AND caring hands. If you’re going somewhere else, you’re doing it wrong.

It was worst service to snatching money. Name of coil change, they charge more than $1000 . Keep coming worst situation within week. I never recommend them to any specific single woman. I’m taking my actions against them.

My heat shield came loose on my car and was looking for a shop to reattach. I called Rouses’s Auto Repair to fix the issue. They reattached my heat shield and provided excellent customer service. It was the first time I’ve used this shop and Jim and his team were wonderful. I would not only recommend their shop, but they have earned a future customer if I need any repairs in the future. My Toyota Sienna van and Venza Have been under great care at Rouses Auto shop. When AAA told me I needed several things done to my car, I brought it to Rouses for a second opinion and found out that none of it was true. We have since brought our cars to the shop for regular maintenance, repairs and tires. I highly recommend Rouses. Our cars are 16 and 12 years old. Jim and his crew are #1!!

On November 12, 2024 my local Hyundai dealership recommended that I have my oil pan gasket replaced because of an oil leak. I took it to Rouse's with the Hyundai paperwork I was given, to get a second opinion and a quote for the repair. Jim reevaluated the oil leak and uncovered that the valve cover gasket was the issue, not the oil pan gasket. He gave me a price and made the repair. I haven't seen a drop of oil since. I'm so impressed with Rouse's spot on analysis. His extra effort to determine the correct cause of the issue was a very pleasant surprise which worked out for the best in the long run. Thank you!

I may need service soon and it struck me that I neglected to add a review in the past. Jim has taken care of complex issues with my car for years. He has always been affordable, frequently working around my strained budget to get me back on the road. Anytime he’s needed the car overnight, he has provided a loaner. He’s extremely knowledgeable and just a nice person. I’d feel comfortable recommending Rouse’s to anyone. Edit: Another 5-star experience! The owner even sent me a follow-up with the paperwork needed to qualify for a rebate on parts. That kind of above & beyond service is why I trust Rouse’s and you can, too!
