They don’t sell alcohol past midnight unlike others in the area. Unless you’re getting gas, I’d go elsewhere for snacks or drinks.

I have only put gas once here, gave me great mileage drove with a little more than half a tank to Bakersfield however, take to count without heavy traffic and my car is a scion xB

This is easily the worst gas station car wash in the area. The drying machine doesn’t work well at all and you have to pay extra to use the vacuum.

Half of the Nozzles not working (Out of Order) other half supposed to be work. I try girst one didn't work. I move my car to other one and let the cashier know about it. He said that I have to push them hard. It was funny! Second pump didnt work either. I drove close by chevron station. Nozzles, everything works fine. It was first and last visit this Shell location.

I went to use the drive-through car wash as I have done for years and then vacuum my car lo and behold. The vacuum was out of service and taped up not working. I went to ask what’s going on and they couldn’t give me any answers terribly inconvenient.

Manager refused to give me a plastic bag...so I gave her an extra dime and she STILL REFUSED TO GIVE ME A PLASTIC BAG. She was inconsiderate, judgemental and just plain mean!! I will never...EVER...give this Shell station my business ever again. I think she is just prejudice against white people...or white blond females. Who knows?? I found out today...I have cancer. I should have been allowed to buy a plastic bag...discreetly...and then go home and suffer in silence. Cruel...truly cruel. I’m now still crying because of the way I was treated. Meanest convenience store clerk I’ve ever met! I paid $.35...just for one plastics bag. So was at her mercy. I gave her 10 cents and she refused giving me a bag...so I finally just gave her another quarter and she gave me a bag.

The car wash broke down while we were in line to use it. We made a dive back there the following day and they have us an upgrade to make up for the wasted time, which was nice. The only down side was once we got home and saw the car, did we notice it never even touched the trunk, which was still filthy. Not the best wash in town.

This place has two bathrooms!! There is a carwash on premise. The staff is quiet but very good. Parking is a bit odd due to its location. But overall I enjoy the visit as drink prices are pretty good.

If it was possible to rate 0 stars, I would rate them thusly. This station is the worst gas station I've ever been to. The pump was cheap and made fueling my vehicle a hassle and the attendant behind the counter was entirely unhelpful. My vehicle was a bit dirty, and I selected to receive an economy car wash at their automated car wash. The price of the wash was $6. I pulled up to the wash and proceeded inside, only to discover the automated wash was broken and wouldn't wash the vehicle no matter what I tried. I went inside to receive a refund for the broken car wash only to be denied, because the manager was not available and wouldn't be there until tomorrow. This policy is 100% dishonest and is tantamount to theft. I came in with a receipt that clearly showed that I payed and tried to receive the service and was told to pound sand. I then drove to my home 100 miles away. To drive back to the station and back home again would cost far more than the refund is worth. It isn't about the $6; it's the principle. As far as I'm concerned, this Shell (and all Shell stations by extension) has lost my business for life and I urge anyone reading this review to avoid this gas station if you prefer not to be ripped off and treated with contempt.

Very disappointing experience. I purchased a car wash with my gas today and wouldn’t you believe it the car wash is broken! I called the store from my car when the code would not process. An attendant came out to help. He Was not able to help, he said that the machine does this sometimes and that it was down. Okay, whatever I thought. Since I was not able to get my car washed, I asked for a refund. He said okay to go inside and wait. He said he was going to come right in and help me after he talked to the other people waiting for car wash. He said he was going to shut it down. Okay, I assume he was going to tell the people that the car wash is out of order put some kind of signage out to shut it down and come back inside. So, i parked my car, went inside, and waited paitently for quite a while. Although there was another Man working inside behind the counter he did not know how to process refunds. Finally, The other gas station attendant came back inside. He proceeded to ignore me running back and forth quite frantically. Then he came over and was going to process my refund. He said he could not process a refund, and that he needed to call someone! So, he asked me to step aside to help other customers. So I did. Then he called someone from his cell phone, apparently someone not working today to ask how to process a refund! Nevertheless, even so they could not process my refund! At this point I’m really frustrated! Don’t get me wrong, the workers were polite and nice, which I appreciate, so I’m not totally blaming them. But, it is disgusting that their employers have not even trained them to run a cash register properly. I mean come on, these are normal, everyday procedures that their employees should know how to do in their sleep. Not to mention the attendant who was trying to be helpful, was apparently training someone else today! My goodness, how can he be responsible for training someone if he himself does not even know basic aspects of the job! This is establishment is certainly not doing anything to help out their employees and thus this is a disservice to their customers. I don’t care how convenient this location is I am definitely never purchasing another car wash from this shell!

Easy access location, super nice employees, plenty of drinks and snacks. I think they are part of 7.11 rewards, too. I use the drive thru car wash a lot and they brought back the frequent washer program, so I updated to the full 5 stars 🌟 🤩

I went to put air in my tire this morning and could not figure out how to work the air machine. I went inside and asked the cashier if there was someone who could help me. Turns out I was using the wrong hose. I just moved here from Minnesota and am a senior citizen. I so much appreciated how kind this young lady at the register was to me and how willing she was to help me. From now on that is where I will get my gas, my cigarettes, and my daily chocolate fix. You are very lucky to have such a kind and helpful employee. I’m lucky I chose Carlsbad as the city to relocate to. Thank you so much!

ALERT! The pumps do not work properly and the woman working behind the counter was rude. I put my card in and it was approved but the next screen went blank, totally blank, nothing. Canceled that transaction and tried 3 more times, same thing each time. Moved to another pump, same thing. Went inside to report the problem and there were no employees in sight. I yelled out to ask if anyone worked here and finally after several long minutes a large woman with food in her mouth came out from the back office. I explained the problem with the pump screen going blank and she just stood there with a ‘deer in the headlights’ look and an ‘I don’t care, I’m not going to help you’ attitude ( she seemed to be too busy eating). I left and went to a Chevron station close by and everything worked fine with my card. I also checked my bank account and it had 5 preauthorizations taken out from this Shell station. The pump and the card reader at this Shell seemed ODD, as was the clerk’s attitude. After I left I immediately called my bank to report possible card reading scam at the station and to put an alert on my account. I will never go to this strange gas station again. Also, I do not get my car washed here, but after reading several reviews of people bring blatantly ripped off with a broken car wash and no refunds, I definitely think that something strange is going on here. BEWARE!!!

I'd give zero stars if I could. I got gas there, and that went okay, but I also wanted to get a wash ($12). The pump didn't give me a receipt, so I had to go inside to get it for the car wash code. Then I tried to get air, and unfortunately paid the $2 for it. No air came out. I went back inside and asked about that, and they said they could turn the machine on for free, but for reasons unknown, they didn't do it. I stood around and waited, but no air. Next I went to the wash. It went okay until it stopped dead halfway through. My car was covered with water and soap and nothing was happening. I drove out of the wash, parked, then went inside (3rd time) to let them know the wash had stopped. They just looked at me, didn't offer to help in ANY way. No restart, no apology, no refund, no raincheck, no nothing. (Well, I did get blank looks, so that's cool.) I wound up going to another station for a wash and air. I paid for the second wash. I won't be going back to this Shell again.

The recent “upgrade” to this car wash has been a huge disappointment. We had used it for years and were excited about the update, but it’s been nothing but trouble since. I tried using the app, but it doesn’t work. During my first wash after the upgrade, the dryer didn’t even turn on, leaving my car wet and the wash incomplete. I went inside to resolve the issue, but the system was down, and I was told to come back another time. I returned today, and while the attendant was helpful and honored the wash, the experience was even worse. The wash didn’t dispense soap and stopped halfway through. It seems that if someone behind you starts their wash while yours is still running, it automatically cuts yours short. This could be a serious flaw in the software or the car wash system itself, skipping critical steps and leaving cars half-washed. Regardless, I won’t be coming back, and I’d caution others to avoid wasting their time and money here.

Fair prices, functional pumps, and a clean station. This Shell is a very easy stop adding only about a minute to your trip on the 5 North. It's a great option for a pit stop if you're headed that way.

This is a Shell with a "7-11" as the convenience store. It is a great location right off the freeway to stop in real quick for gas and a snack from a store that has a better variety than other gas stations, but it's not a full 7-11 experience. So, set your expectations accordingly. That gas station itself had 8 available pumps, multiple entrances and exits, and a car wash. There is unleaded only, no diesel available. 3 options for car washes, not any more expensive than other places near by. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, and there is plenty of parking in the lot for customers that are not getting fuel. The staff was friendly and helpful.
