I was nervous to get my tires changed while out of town, but after finding this place, all of my worries were put to rest! Smitty’s is a family run business that has been around for 90 years, and it shows as they run a tight ship. They really helped me out by making sure to meet my needs without charging me for extra services. They were honest and told me that my car really only needed two tires, and that saved me a big chunk of change. Also, after hearing that I was going to be driving my car back to Tennessee, they checked it out to make it would make the trip back there. I couldn’t be more grateful to have found them. I called in the middle of the day, asked if they could help me with a car repair, and I was able to be seen within 10 minutes! They helped me remove a cracked plastic sheet from the bottom of my car that I broke while driving over a pothole. It was dragging on the road for 2 days, and within 15 minutes they took care of the problem for me. Smitty and Chris were curious, professional, and fun to talk to. They were upfront about everything, provided a great price for the repair, and truly upheld what a great small business is about. I will be coming back to Smitty's for all future repairs for as long as I live in Newark! They are the best kept secret in the area.

This place is a gem!!! Highly recommend. My Prius died nearby so I walked over to the shop to see if they could help with my hybrid. The owner Smitty immediately walked with me to my car, jump started it, and replaced the battery (for a reasonable price!) within a couple hours. Absolutely wonderful service, and Smitty is a pleasure to chat with. I will certainly bring my car back if I have any more issues!

Hurts me to even write this but go at your own risk - My first experience here for a post-sale inspection was perfect. Owner was professional, gave me a solid recommendation on one thing, and kept the cost low. Fast forward months later when someone tried to steal my driver side mirror. The connectors were severed so the mirror couldn’t stay upright but both the glass and plastic were intact still. I went for a repair and was told it would be expensive as I needed a new mirror + cost of labor since my car requires the door to be removed for a mirror install. I was also told it would be an overnight job as Honda had to deliver the part. To my surprise, I get a call that same day from the owner saying he picked up the part and my car was good to go. I was already at work so I went in the next morning right before going to the office. My mistake was assuming that since my 1st experience went so well, I was good to go without checking anything after paying $600 (half of which was for a new part). Two days later as I’m parking, I notice a huge chip on the underside of my “new” mirror. When I checked a video I took after the theft attempt, I realized it was my same mirror that had been reattached. Thank God this wasn’t an internal part. Do your due diligence if you have to go here and double check everything before paying
