Do not go to sophisticated auto on palm! He's ripping people off ! I paid 2300 last year for a catalytic converter and he said the price was high because he only uses "original" parts... it's only been a year and my cat is failing again I go to him and he says they're under new owners so they don't have any record history and that they won't honor my warranty because he said my engine was misfiring and CA won't allow any warranty when the engine has history of misfiring... I took my car somewhere else they took out the catalytic converter and they say it's an AFTERMARKET part !! and they said my car is not misfiring at all. I'm still paying the credit card I used to buy the catalytic converter the first time : TOTAL RIP OFF and every review on yelp says the same thing!

This garage was recommended by the garage across the street. I had already been offered everywhere from $41 to $75 dollars for an oil change for the next day, or even next week! I had already bought my own oil and filter. The gentleman at this shop offered to change my oil on my Dodge Ram for $25 and he did so with professionalism and punctuality, 30 mins tops and he was done. Don’t take your car to sophisticated auto on Palm. I went to get brakes changed and replace a lug stud. They replaced the pads and left one of the calipers with a missing bolt on the top and the bottom bolt half way out so the calipers were not holding on to anything. Photos below show the driver’s side with the missing bolt and other one half way out. The other photo is the passenger’s side correctly installed red circles are to show the bolts. I heard noises and decided to look and glad I did cause it could have cause more damage. Instead of taking it back I ended up buying the parts and fixing the problem myself.

Short story: The technicians don't seem to care about your car. Wouldn't recommend if you actually care about your car. Appalling to say the least. The whole story: Brought my Audi here to get smog checked as it was around the corner from my place. Was told it would about a certain amount of time and it was completed in about that. However, when I was walking up, to my horror, I saw my car being pulled out of their lot with a piece hanging off it. The technician parked it and was going to head back inside, no awareness that a customers car was damaged. When I brought this up to the guy who was going to take my payment, I'm guessing who was the master tech, he tried to down play it. He was claiming "I work on German cars and this happens because it's plastic." No. Just no. That piece should not of come off without some serious force behind it. No driving it 50 feet should make this piece come off. The piece was popped back on and then I got home and noticed the bumper was out of alignment and had fresh scratches underneath. Apparently, somehow the technician managed to drop the car hard enough to mar up the front end, but didn't think that anything had happen to warrant an look at it after parking. Seriously? You can not tell me there wasn't some type of grinding/scraping/horrid sound when that damage was happening. I look after every scratching sound I make on the car. Then you want to down play it like it's some poor German construction? The lack of care for a customers car is astounding. The downplaying of a legitimate concern of a custom is appalling. I would not recommend this shop if you care about your car, because they seriously do not.
