Matt's one of the few good shop owners left. He fixed a cooling problem on my Excursion SD that 2 other shops failed to resolve and replaced a couple u-joints. He did it at a reasonable price and also pointed out other work that "could be done" but wasn't urgent and gave me good advice on when it should be done "in a year or two".

Even though it is not a diesel, Matt always makes time to take a look at what is going on with it and give me a diagnosis. They most recently did a simple routine repair and it was done quickly, professionally, and was reasonably priced. Matt is genuine and honest, and the shop is super clean. We are very grateful we found sparks diesel. We have a couple diesels that get driven a lot for our business. We asked for recommendations for a good diesel mechanic on FB and several people recommended Sparks Diesel. I’m drawing a blank on the owners name because it’s my husband that deals with him, but he’s fantastic. We haven’t been using him that long, but when we have an issue he treats us like a long time customer and gets us taken care of even when he’s slammed. Which we appreciate SOOO much because when we’re down a truck, it hurts our business bad. One weekend our truck broke down (I forgot why because again husband deals with it 😂). But we had to have it towed. I told my husband to tow it to sparks diesel and he was a little hesitant because it was a weekend and we couldn’t call to confirm it was okay. I told my husband might as well and we have to tow it home, we will. But maybe this will save us the cost of having to tow it home AND to the shop. So my husband did and left it in the parking lot without asking if it was okay since it was the weekend. My husband called pretty early Monday morning like 8 or 9am and was pleasantly surprised to hear that the owner had already taken a look at the truck without even hearing from us!! Seriously fantastic experience. Quality work. Doesn’t rip us off.

Excellent shop in the Reno/Sparks area. Matt and Eric are fantastic mechanics. I had a check engine light on and truck went into limp mode. Sparks Diesel is our “go to” shop for all of our diesel trucks. We do a lot of traveling pulling our 45’ Solitude fifth wheel all over the country.
