A new car loses approximately 20% of its value in the first year. Therefore, I think the best bang for your buck is to buy a 1 year old used car. However, buying a used car opens up a lot of things that could go wrong. In my opinion, paying a small business like AutoMedic to complete a pre-purchase inspection is an absolute no-brainer! AutoMedic was kind, prompt, and passionate about our pre-purchase inspection. In our case, the inspector was able to provide evidence that the car we wanted to purchase was in an accident that was not reported by the previous owner and dealership. The inspector also identified a concern with the battery that, by itself, would not have stopped us from buying the car. We brought the AutoMedic report of a car accident and an imperfect car battery back to the dealership and asked for a price reduction. The dealership refused to give us a new price, so we walked away from the deal. In conclusion, my experience with AutoMedic was that they provided me with 2 very valuable pieces of information that I did not find when I inspected the car. The AutoMedic did not persuade me towards buying or not buying the car; they simply made it clear what the car was. Spending $300 to avoid a bad purchase is definitely worth it to me!

Potential out of state purchaser here. Had been working with a dealership in CA, but couldn’t pull the trigger on a relatively new used car site unseen. Found Automedic on the web, it had great reviews compared to nationwide competitors. Loved the fact that they were also local. Very professional. Got to the dealership the same day and sent me all the info and pictures later that evening. We had to a call to go over all the findings, which eventually swayed my decision. They found something that could possibly be a major issue that would cost me thousands of dollars if I had purchased the car. $250 saved me a BIG headache. Thank you Automedic!

a dead battery and due to some circumstances I was unable to fix the problem myself. After a quick search I stumbled upon this company. I called and they were able to get me booked within the same day. The mechanic/tech showed up on time and was just a great person all around. He was very personable, helpful, and was willing to explain his process throughout the time he was changing my battery and cleaning my wires full of acid. He even mentioned to me something I never would have known and that is there were rodents sleeping/scurrying around my engine (gross). He told me they also provide a service for engine cleaning and applying a rodent repellant which I scheduled a couple days from me writing this review. I can’t say enough good things about the experience. Super convenient for getting your car looked at and serviced wherever you may be. Obviously it would have been cheaper to do it myself, but for all they did including providing the battery the price was more than fair. I will definitely be using their services again when needed.

SUPER HAPPY with service. Very professional taking the time to explain mechanics, diagnostic results. My 2002 Land Rover Discovery wouldn’t start. Battery indicator read fully charged. Tried to start the car with super charger but didnt work. Diagnostics indicated alternator over charging/spiking battery killing it. First time I’ve had to replace alternator for a 22 yr old vehicle. These guys were efficient and took very little time to fix the issue. I will call them again should the need arise.

Was trying to start up the car inside the garage but no luck. I could have gone with my auto service provider but they often give these service calls out to 3rd party trucks and I never know what type of person I'm going to get (had bad experiences before). This time I went online and searched for a reputable mobile auto maintenance provider. So glad AutoMedic came up. Saw the wonderful reviews and gave them a try. Called AutoMedic and everything went as smooth as butter. I literally called right before they closed and they squeezed me in that same day. I really appreciate their flexibility. They arrived on time as scheduled and everything was repaired in 30 minutes. It was perfect. Price was reasonable too. Thank you Auto Medic!

Do you want to have a guard dog on your side when you are buying a used vehicle? Thomas is experienced, smart, trust worthy & dependable. As a female purchasing a truck to haul horses, I want to know the vehicle I am buying is all I’ve been told it is, with auto medics detailed inspection I knew I would be safe.

Shoutout to Robert! They messaged that the mechanic would arrive in 25 minutes, which they did -- punctual! I explained the issue with my car: pulsation when braking, and wondering if they can rotate the rotors. He took a look and suggested that they be replaced. I also asked for new brake pads, and drums for the back wheels. He explained what he'd do, said it would take about 2 hours, and would test drive it before he handed the keys back over. He gave me a great price estimate -- way better than the mechanic I usually take my car to. Fully trusted his judgement and capability. 2 hours later, he had it done, the test drive went well, and he explained everything he did. Easy payment, left a tip, and he was on his way. The car drives like brand new, and what an easy, convenient exchange. Thank you again, Robert, for making this a smooth fix when car issues can easily be so daunting. Will recommend to any and everyone I know for future car fixes, and will definitely be calling them in the future with my own car needs!

I have had a great experience with this company. (A+++++) to add some background, I live just outside of Philadelphia PA. My daughter is a newly wed living at Camp Pendleton while her husband is deployed overseas. So, she’s 2,763 miles away from home, knows very few people and needed to buy a car. My first thought was to buy a plain ticket and fly out to help. I found The AutoMedic almost by accident online. For what I thought was the service pricing was very fair. The went to look at the car and provide a very comprehensive write of the condition of the vehicle. They also spent about 15 minutes on the phone with me explaining the report and answering my questions. Honestly if more companies took care of their customers this well you would not need rating sites.. Thank you for helping out a dad.

Do not trust these guys to replace your car battery. They charged me $300 to replace the battery in my car and I've had problems ever since. When I called them about it, they blamed the alternator (not the problem). Then they said that while the battery may be under warranty, they would charge $100+ in labor to replace it, since it was more than 30 days after installation. I've consulted with numerous other people including the dealership (who of course blamed the battery) and another shop. I learned more than I want to know about car batteries. Today, I went to the manufacturer's website, entered my car info and the site says "This Battery Does Not Fit Your Vehicle." It has a "Standard Performance life" and is "Perfect for the value minded customer." This battery cannot power a higher end car with lots of power-hungry features! This cheap battery has caused me to miss appointments and created ongoing stress, frustration and worry. I paid a shop to check my charging system, I bought 2 different trickle chargers, and have been wasting significant time driving my car unnecessarily just to try to charge this insufficient battery! Do not trust them!

I cannot recommend AutoMedic enough. Their comprehensive service and genuine care makes them a joy to work with. When dealing with a company outside of your hometown, there's always a little bit of worry, but after checking reviews and an initial conversation with Thomas, we decided to use them for a Pre Purchase Inspection. They got out there same day, the report was incredibly thorough their follow-up was amazing. I'm happy to continue the wonderful pattern of people highlighting their five star service.

Ordered a pre-purchase inspection from them for a used vehicle. They scheduled it within 10 minutes with the dealer and I had the report within 90 minutes. Hundreds of pictures, interior, exterior, underside, suspension, breaks, tires - everything you could ask for and more. They checked the paint all round the car for scratches and thickness, and did a full diagnostic scan. Couldn't be happier with the service; very fast, very comprehensive. 10/10 would recommend if you're looking to buy a new car and just want that extra piece of mind. Very informed and gave me a lot of confidence in the (soon to be) purchase.

I called these guys for a PPI on an exotic car. They were super helpful, coordinated the entire PPI, and had the inspection done within a couple of hours after my original phone call. Was blown away with how well they handled the service. They provided a detailed report, along with 100+ photos and some videos. 100% recommend these guys.

I scheduled a pre purchase inspection and they were quick and efficient. At first I was a bit nervous because I would've prefered some more friendly customer service. However the report was very thorough and they let me know about a crash that was not on the Carfax report. They saved me thousands of dollars and I'm very thankful.

Hired them to get a car in storage running again. Very easy to schedule and they came on a rainy day. This included oil and battery change. The final price was 2x their estimate over the phone, but that's fine. My main issue was they swapped the cabin air filter. I always tell the dealership not to do that, but I forgot in this instance. They billed $65 for cabin air filter, for a $10-20 part. Their invoice didn't show labor. I would be careful and try to request an itemized estimate next time, breaking down cost of parts and labor. I'm pretty sure I could have done fewer unnecessary things. Otherwise they were easy to communicate with.

10 out of 10 Service! Their technician Marion showed up early and had my diagnostics done in less than 10 minutes. It’s incredible that their service comes to you and I couldn’t believe how their diagnostics fee is LESS THAN HALF of the price of any of the other auto mechanic places that I contacted (only $85!) It was very professional from start to finish and extremely convenient how they text you updates in real time. Marion had the technician specialist from home-base waiting for me via speakerphone where he explained the diagnostic results in laymen’s terms with none of the confusing car jargon. I told him that my check engine light was on and the D for drive was flashing. They explained exactly what the diagnostics results were showing and gave me three possible causes for the issue. He explained that the first cause might be needing to get the transmission fluid flushed and replaced and asked direct questions to further narrow down the problem. I had just recently had the transmission fluid replaced (at a DIFFERENT shop that had failed to fix the problem and instead gave me a long list of completely unrelated things I should look into- definitely won’t be going back there) Marion then proceeded to double check the transmission fluid for me (no charge) seeing that I was uneasy and unsure about whether or not the first sketchy mechanic shop had actually replaced my transmission fluid or not. They verified that the transmission fluid looked clear so it was most likely not the issue and moved to the second possible cause which was that the fluid pressure sensor might need to be replaced. They said that if I wanted to go ahead and have that service completed by them, they would waive the diagnostics fee. (!!!) He explained that if the issue still presented itself after installing a new fluid pressure sensor then it most likely was option 3- a major transmission problem (which their services do not directly deal with) but they would help me find a transmission specialist in my area and guide me through communicating exactly what needed to be assessed. I can’t begin to express how amazing this experience was! I went in with major anxiety and PTSD after feeling taken advantage of and frankly swindled at the previous auto mechanic shop and immediately felt a night and day difference with this company. Not only do I feel extremely confident in their services provided, but I was never made to feel pressured or like they were trying to upsell me/ nickel and dime me. I will be singing their praises from the rooftops and recommending them to all of my friends and family! Thank you for taking such amazing care of me and my vehicle. 😁

As a first-time used car buyer, I was overwhelmed and didn't know what to look for beyond "get an inspection." The team at Automedic was a lifesaver. Before I even paid, they were transparent about their process and explained exactly what they would check. The fact that they are mobile was a huge plus. It felt much more unbiased than using the local shop the dealership recommended. Automedic handled everything—they coordinated directly with the dealer, making the scheduling seamless. The inspection itself uncovered several suspicious issues the dealer hadn't mentioned. Afterward, their communication was incredible. They were extremely responsive to my texts and jumped on two separate calls to translate complex mechanical terms into layman’s terms for me. Despite the dealership’s shady tactics (like demanding a non-refundable deposit because "someone else was looking at it"), Automedic gave me the facts I needed to walk away. This service paid for itself ten times over by saving me from a money pit. I cannot recommend them enough!
