Just went in for an oil change and tire rotation. While they are normally pretty good about getting you in and out, this time it took over 2 hours. We really felt it was a little excessive.

We had our check engine light come on shortly after leaving home in MN heading to Tuscaloosa. AL. Of course this was of great concern but checking our diagnostic found it was coming out as a "knock sensor potential failure". Talking to our home mechanics felt we would be able to get to Alabama ok but should have it checked out. We were grateful to get into the Toyota dealer here right away and had it fixed the next day. Everyone there seemed attentive and the dealership itself is very large and accomodating for all your needs.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the employee I spoke. however I told them I had a replacement headlight for the right low beam on my Sienna. I was quoted a price of $40 to change it. We went there, waiting over an hour only to be told that they had to use a super expensive LED headlight that cost $175! That would have been $215 to replace the light which only cost $30 for the left. I left. It was a waste of my time.

Ok Let me explain why I gave a 3 star. First I have always loved Tuscaloosa Toyota! My man Mike that I bought my car from is the best salesman. Two I have always got the service department to look after my baby. But three I had a run in last time I was there. One of the service reps came to me(after they serviced my baby)and told me I needed some things done. Note that the things was supposed to be for preventive maintenance. But still my car had 40,000 miles on it. The request that the man stated was for 30,000 miles. Nobody mentioned anything about it. He made me feel like I was neglecting my car. The things he said sounded like a scam. I wrote my salesman to let him know about what had happened. So far everybody that I know I have been giving them a heads up about the service department. Don't get me wrong I LOVE TUSCALOOSA TOYOTA. But don't come to me with $500 worth of stuff that I can do my self and then send me email after email about what they think needs to be done. Even thoe they neglected to say anything for 10,000 miles. Just wanted to put that out there.

Service Department policy of charging -$90 for diagnostic (must be done to find codes and the issue) and not waiving it when the work is completed by them feels like double charging for service. If the work was not completed at your shop, it would make sense. I have used dealership service departments in at least 10 different states. If they did a diagnostic AND serviced the vehicle, they only charged for the service. I realize that it is the cost of doing business with you but does not make for satisfied customers.

Have used Toyota’s service department several times for oil changes and tire rotations and the process to book a time is easy and they usually complete the work within an hour. The space to wait is very vast with many comfortable sitting and lounging options

I had a good experience with the dealership. However, I had a terrible experience with the service department. The lady is rude and offers no help/feedback (she doesn’t want to do her job). It is a hassle to get them to honor their “lifetime warranty.”

As soon as I pulled up at the service center. A man walk up and said good morning!You are said my name.He told me what they were going to inspect and change out the recall part.Then He took me inside to where the waiting area was.He kept me up to date on the job they were doing .Everyone was so friendly and helpful and smile the whole time.I must say this was the absolute best service I ever received for one of my vehicles. I've had horrible experiences with service centers in the past. Tuscaloosa Toyota is not like the others. They are fast to come out to your car and set up your advisor. They do video walk around of your car before moving it. You are escorted inside to a huge, comfortable waiting area. Recliners, couches, chairs, tables, charging station, coffee bar, vending machines, and restrooms. You are kept updated about the progress with texts. Seriously fast service. They did a great job, and my service advisor Ryan was very helpful and accommodated my requests. Worked with me on my time.
