Absolutely stellar tire change! Got four of my tires changed here, my car had some trims that needed to be temporarily moved to do the change and they accommodated as best they could - speedy service, good price and great attitude! Would definitely come back

I have never had a positive experience at this center. I've been reluctantly coming here for a few years because I purchased a Walmart tire warranty a while back, and every single visit has left me regretting that decision. They don't take walk-ins, their appointment availability is crap, and even with an appointment wait times are atrocious (think 3-4 hours even with an appointment for an oil change). Most importantly, though, customer service is the worst out of any commercial establishment I've frequented. Both in person and over the phone, I have repeatedly encountered ineptitude, lack of expertise, and apathy. Honestly I don't know what I expected from Walmart... Don't make the mistake I did, don't go to Walmart of all places for something that matters as much as your car. My last visit, during which they failed to even do something as simple as check my tire pressure, much less replace my busted tire, was the last straw. I ended up going across town to America's Tires and had a much more positive experience at a comparable price to Walmart. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere other than Walmart Auto for your oil and tire needs.

Didn’t wanted to change oil in my Volkswagen. First said that they don’t have the tools for my “European skid plate”, and then I told them that my car don’t have a skid plate. After that. They said that they don’t have tools for vw filters. I got the filter gripper tool from Walmart and changed it in the parking lot…

The worst experience I have ever had! I pulled in at 6pm knowing that they close at 7pm. They told me they would not sell me a tire or help me at all because they close at 7! Because of them I now have to risk my life by getting back on the road, with a tire that could pop! I can’t believe they refused to sell me a tire! I will tell every one I know about this and if anything happens to me the world will know!

Due to multiple negative reviews, I was expecting a bad experience. I was pleasantly surprised by this auto care center. This is definitely the best Walmart Auto Care Center in the Bay Area. The staff were extremely fast, professional, and helpful. I was able to get my battery installed and got a rebate on my CA core fee. The waiting room was very clean. There's a McDonald's inside the Walmart so you can go get a cheap meal while you wait for your auto service. I will be coming back soon for my other auto care needs.

I had an oil change performed at Walmart, and approximately three weeks later, my car began displaying a low oil warning. Upon opening the hood, I was shocked to discover that the oil cap was missing and engine oil had been sprayed throughout the engine compartment. It became evident that the technician at Walmart had failed to reinstall the oil cap after the service. This negligence resulted in significant oil loss, which not only created a safety hazard but also led to potential damage to the engine.

$44.89 plus tax for synthetic oil for my 2015 Camry. I arrived 8AM, service done at 9:15AM. Not as bad as everyone said, the customer service staffs were helpful. You can’t beat the price anywhere in the East Bay.

- bought tires in December '24 on good sale, but they only delivered 3, and eventually refunded - bought tires in July '25 bc I needed it, same thing happened - bought again in August '25 and the tires finally came. No one was as the station so I had to wait for 15 mins even before being checked in. The services took almost 3 hours, and they didn't even complete it, citing that one of the lug nut was "stuck". I went home and was able to take it out and reinstall just fine, I so have to waste another afternoon to get the last tire installed. Why lie? My tire iron can't be stronger than their shop tools or impact guns To make matter worse, when I got home, all 3 tires were under inflated at 27 psi, when the paper work states that the tires were inflated to 35 psi (see pictures). How can 4 tires were inflated to 35 psi when one of the tires wasn't even installed ??

DO NOT go here for OIL CHANGE unless you want your skid plate damaged!!! I went there for oil change and once I got my car back and drove for 5 mins, I heard very weird noise, it sounds like something keep hitting the road. Then I pulled it over and found the passenger side of the skid plate is off and hitting the road, the driver side is simply tied... my skid plate on the passenger side got bent due to being off and hitting the road. I went to ask them to fix it the second morning at the facility opening time, and they simply zipped the passenger side, told me it is good to go without recovering it to the original status. I do not trust them so I went to another place to get a thorough inspection, and got to know that 6 out of 8 screws of the skid plate have been missing, and the bent part cannot be recovered... I eventually got to pay for $65 for the skid plate + $50 for labor to install the new one. So an extra $115 out of my pocket to pay for Walmart's fault.

For tires: Make an appointment & check on the Walmart app. Came in for a 7am appointment. Took me about 1 hour for all 4 tires to be done. Customer service was great. Not bad at all.

This has been one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I’ve ever had with any company. Walmart attracts a massive number of customers, but clearly cannot handle the volume or provide even the most basic level of service. Prices may be lower than competitors, but the service quality is far below acceptable standards. Customer support does not respect customers’ time, provides inaccurate and conflicting information, and then disconnects the chat without resolving anything. On top of that, the store itself simply does not answer the phone — no matter how many times you try calling. There is no way to get help, no way to reach a real person, and no accountability. If Walmart cannot properly serve the customers it brings in, then it should seriously rethink its priorities. Right now, the message I’m receiving as a customer is: your time doesn’t matter, your concerns don’t matter, and you’re completely on your own.

Came here for tires change this morning with an appointment. In and out within one and a half hour, absolutely reasonable for changing all four tires. I hardly find any better labor price for changing tires than Walmart if buy tires from them. This is my second time have them mounted new tires on, and the work quality of this Union City Walmart met standard in my opinion. I am happy about their service.

I had a terrible experience with Walmart Auto Care after purchasing a car battery here. They advertise free battery installation, but in reality, they did not provide the service at all. After buying the battery, I waited with no clear timeline, no communication, and no attempt to help. The staff was tardy, unorganized, and completely indifferent. Instead of resolving the issue or honoring the installation they advertised, they eventually asked me to leave. No apology, no solution. In the end, I had to return the battery because they simply refused to install it.

I wish I could give zero star... This was hands down my worst experience at Walmart, and I honestly may never come back to this location. I came in to return some items. After scanning the barcode from my order in the app, the customer service associate told me she still needed the barcode for each individual item. I asked why—since she had already scanned the entire order—she couldn’t see the item details. Her response was simply, “That’s how our system works.” Fine. I then had to locate each product one by one and tell her the purchase price for each item. Yes, you read that right—she couldn’t even find the prices in the system. I gave her the correct prices honestly, but she then told me the refund amount would be less than what I paid and insisted that was what the system calculated, with no intention of double-checking. After I patiently pushed back, she finally reviewed it again and realized she had entered the wrong quantity. Only then was the issue resolved. After that, my wife and I needed to use the family restroom so we could change our baby’s diaper. We asked several employees, all of whom told us they didn’t have the key. Eventually, one employee was willing to help and went to find the manager. When the manager arrived, he initially unlocked the wrong room—he didn’t even know the difference between the nursing room and the family restroom. After trying all of his keys, he finally opened the correct room. Inside, the restroom looked brand new. I’d bet we were the first family to use it since this manager took over. Overall, extremely frustrating and disorganized experience.

Technicians in Union City service center don’t know how to unscrew car wheels 🤦🏽 I purchased tires from Walmart and scheduled wheel service to replace old tires. My wife drove there for 30 minutes and they told that they need special BMW key to unscrew bolts just because they saw visual patterns on bolt heads, they did not even try to use regular headset after 3 different techs looked at it. They rescheduled and told her to find secret key. On next schedule date the same story but at this time I told my wife that they just should use regular 17 headset. It again took 3 technicians and my wife telling them 5 times that no secret is needed until they tried it and finally was able to do the job which took 2 hours 🫣 Last time I use those folks to touch our cars…

Wish there was no ⭐️ option!! My experience at this service center was utterly deplorable. After waiting 30 minutes, I was informed there were no appointments under my name or phone number, despite receiving multiple messages confirming my car was being serviced, started, and completed—while it sat untouched in the lot. To add insult to injury, they had mistakenly signed up another person under my name, canceled my appointment, and treated me as a walk-in without any communication. Even worse, after the supposed service, I discovered the engine oil cap was not secured, leaving oil splashed inside the engine bay, which could have caused severe damage. This level of negligence, unprofessionalism, and disregard for customer care is unacceptable. The staff’s incompetence and failure to follow basic service protocols are alarming. I’m considering legal action and strongly urge others to avoid this place. Save your time, money, and vehicle—go elsewhere!
