AAMCO had my car for close to two months. I always had to call for an update. Even after I asked them to call to let me know any type of status with the repairs. After their repeated attempts to fix my car I had to eventually take it to a dealership to be repaired, which took only one week. The fix was a new part, the same part AAMCO replaced with a used part. I ended up coming out of pocket for $2k for my car not being repaired. Also, if you leave a bad review, they will make all the excuses and stalk your social media in order to threaten you into removing your bad review instead of just apologizing for any inconveniences.

They slick trash. I took my bmw to them last year for a diagnosis after I bought the car. It kinda had a weird drag to it as I drove. I told them about it. They told me that my transmission pan was bad and needed to be replaced and that’s all. After getting my car back it kinda felt the same so I didn’t think nothing of it. I was thinking maybe bmws just trash cars I don’t know. It’s my first one. But long story short it was my torque converter the whole time. I believe I was charge at least $900 to $1100 for that. Never again!!!!!!!!

The AAMCO and its employees are the absolute best. I have had to take my car in twice in the last 5 months (for very different reasons ) and both times they were prompt, respectful, and completely fair. The employees and technicians are obviously well-trained and can answer any questions or do whatever you're going to need them to. I would 10/10 recommend AMMCO, they are the kindest, most honest, and most diligent auto shop that I have worked with. This last time I brought my car in, they couldn't duplicate the problem that I was experiencing, but they worked on it throughout an entire week, going above and beyond to make sure that my car was safe to drive. Then, they told me they did the entire work on courtesy because they couldn't find anything wrong with it. That was so generous. These guys are the best auto shop in Macon, and possibly, the world.

Terrible experience and service! I brought my jaguar to get a diagnosis on 9/11/25. I drop my car off and I was told it was first come first serve and there was Only one car in front of me. I did not get a call back on the Status of my car so I call them on 9/16/25 about 2:00 pm and was told they were doing the diagnostic as we speak. Didn’t get a call back. I call them back on 9/19/25 that Friday 10 min before they close and was told that they are just getting the estimates and they would call me back on Monday the 22th. Still no call. So I went to the shop on Monday afternoon bout 3:30 - 4:00 pm. I noticed my car wasn’t even in the bay (shop garage) so I ask the lady at front where was my car? She looked and was like ohh it must be in our other garage. So you mean to tell me that my car is not even being worked on, no one has called me to tell me anything, And my car is just sitting in a whole other garage! She pulls my order form from under a stack of other car orders that are in front of mines. How is Other cars getting seen before mines?? I only had one car in front of me! This lady had every excuse in the book! It goes from me needing a part that would 50/50 fix the problem with my transmission to ummm well u know these parts are going to take forever to get here.. to yea now I need to buy a new transmission and if I do it’s going to be about $25,000!?! Wat?!? I have never heard of such in my life! This place has terrible customer service and No communication! My car was there almost 3 Weeks for nothing!! Hands down the worst car repair shop I’ve ever been too! Highly Not recommended!!!

THEY GAVE ME AN INCORRECT DIAGNOSTIC REPORT In November 2024 my daughter took her vehicle to them because her check engine light was on. They told us and reported to CarFax that the transmission was at the end of its life and quoted us $8000 plus to replace it. We were advised not to drive it locally because it could give out "any day at anytime". We declined to get it replaced and interestingly, the check engine light went off the same day we got it back from them. Well 11 months and 14,000 miles later the vehicle is still going strong. The reason I am writing this review is because of this erroneous report, it voided my extended warranty. Because of Aamco, when the transmission does give out I no longer have any coverage all because Aamco was trying to use a scare tactic to get me to replace the transmission unnecessarily. To make matters worse, they filed this incorrect report on Carfax this it cost me to lose my coverage for future repairs. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!

We took our daughter's car in for repair. They performed a complete diagnostics and found out needs new motor. They also did research for us found out the car's engine has a manufacturer recall and referred us to a good dealership. The front office staff was so kind and helpful. They even waved our diagnostic charge. When we need any other services we will go back to Aamco on Pine Street in Macon, GA. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP.

Great experience (as far as a failed transmission goes halfway through a 12 hour trip from Florida to North Carolina). Two weeks ago we limped into the AAMCO parking lot in Macon at 12:30 right in the middle of lunch. The problem was diagnosed about an hour later. Need a new transmission. Fortunately they had my transmission on the shelf. It was installed, reprogramed and they had us on the road by 11:30 AM the following day (LESS THAN 24 HRS). Nothing a sketchy cab ride across town and a night in a hotel couldn't fix. Hope I never have to stop at AAMCO in Macon unexpectedly again. But if so I'm sure they would take good care of me. Came with a 3 yr/ unlimited miles warranty and the price was right in line with national averages and KBB suggested cost. These guys were awesome!

Honest mechanic shop****** I paid to have work done at another shop. The same issue persisted, so I brought the Jeep into AAMCO Macon. They inspected the Jeep, informed me that the issue wasn't done correctly at the other place and didn't charge me a dime. AAMCO could have just done the work and charged me, but they were fair and decent with me. It's very hard to find an honest mechanic. Thank you Kat and Jen and AAMCO Macon.

They had my partner’s car for two months and could never find the problem with his car. He always had to call them in order to get any kind of update or communication. I would drive by there every day and his car was always sitting in the parking lot across the street not being worked on. They said they “fixed” several parts but still couldn’t get it to run. He finally demanded to have his car back and when he took it to a dealership they were able to fix it within a week and had to replace the parts AAMCO said they fixed. FYI be careful if you leave a negative review. I left this review and the owner found me on social media and at my former job and would not stop messaging me until I took my review down.

I took my car in for a transmission flush kis stinger 2019 told them the symptoms and they were very honest and candid. They told me it was a 50/50 chance of saving it and guess what! They saved my car and I am forever grateful. Jennifer that sits in the front was very knowledgeable and so was Katrina. They kept me up to date on the process not to mention we had funny conversations when I went in. I left stuff in the car that I needed and they stopped what they were doing to let me in the back and get it. These people were a God send. The process took a total of about 2 weeks but they did put a safe guard on my transmission so they had to wait for parts. I didn't mind how long it took because my car came back better than ever. Going forward no one will touch my car when it comes to transmissions issues but them! They earned my respect and earned a forever customer! Thank you guys enough! I recommend them 1,000 times over!!
