I found Aces Performance Exhaust while searching for a muffler shop that had mufflers in stock and availability to install ASAP. You’d be surprised how many shops don’t carry product in stock, or have nearly no stock. I wanted to get it done within 3 days before I had to return to work. I had only ever changed the entire exhaust system in the past and didn’t know what to expect if I only changed the muffler. After speaking to the owner Luis, he made it clear that the exhaust would sound considerably different from stock. However, since my Trail Boss came with resonators from factory, it would be a good idea to swap those out as well if I wanted to hear the full potential of the new muffler. I agreed and ended up deleting the resonators and changing to the muffler he recommended, the Carven R. One YouTube search and I was in love with that sound. He knew exactly what I was looking for. It sounds even better than the systems I thought I wanted, the Atak or Super 10. The install couldn’t have been much longer than an hour. The price was incredible compared to what I was used to. Every other truck I had, I bought the entire exhaust system and had to spend $2000+ to get it done. At Aces, I was out the door, tax and labor included for slightly more than $400. If I didn’t have the resonators to get rid of, it would have been somewhere slightly more than $200. That is incredible value. I can’t believe I ever paid for an entire system. I now understand why muffler shops exist in places besides the north where exhaust systems rust out within a few years. Now I have the flexibility to try out multiple different mufflers within the lifetime of my truck, if I really wanted to. I couldn’t be more happy with the exhaust. I have never been so thrilled to pay $400 for a truck mod. Of ALL the modifications I’ve done, this is by far the best bang for buck. Thank you to Luis and his team for unleashing the potential inside the 5.3L. I wish I would have done this the day I bought this truck.
