Store associates were professional and knowledgeable. I know nothing about my car and they spoke to me in a way that made me understand- which is hard to do when it comes to a car. The time provided to me was much appreciated.

Needed wiper blades and the gentleman was very informative about the wipers and a few other products. He installed the wipers and thanked me for choosing Advance and shook my hand.

Went to drop off waste oil. Counter person said their receptacle was broken. After a little back and forth I said “you are legally obligated to take waste oil:”. The counter person said, “ no, we are not legally obligated to take waste oil”. They are incorrect. From NY DEC website: “ New York State law requires numerous service and retail locations to accept used oil from household DIYs (who is otherwise exempt from regulation) for recycling. Under Article 23, Title 23 of the Environmental Conservation Law (ECL) (link leaves DEC's website), any service establishment that sells at least 500 gallons per year of new oil and performs vehicle servicing must accept from the public, at no charge, up to 5 gallons of used oil per person per day. Retailers who don't service vehicles but sell at least 1,000 gallons per year of new oil must either accept used oil from the public, as service establishments do, or contract to have another service or retail establishment accept it on their behalf. Some municipalities in New York State also collect DIY used oil as part of their Household Hazardous Waste Program.” You work in an auto parts place, you should know the laws. I’m tired of incompetence, especially when it inconveniences me. And if in fact the receptacle was broken (was it really?), they should have proposed making arrangements for me drop off oil as outlined on the NY DEC website here: “While service and retail establishments may temporarily refuse to accept used oil if their used oil tanks are temporarily full, they must make arrangements to have their tanks emptied and inform the household DIY when they can come back to drop off their used oil.“ I went down the road to Autozone, where the man accepted my oil, understood the law when I asked him about and was generally very pleasant. So Advanced Auto Parts just lost a customer and Autozone just gained a customer.

Worst ever advance auto parts store ever i visited. I had to return a product and they have issued me only 50% of the price back without even telling me they are gonna only issue 50% credit back. When I asked about it they said there is nothing they can do at that time as they have already issued it without my consent. After they deducted 50% without my consent they have no courtesy to answer my questions or clear my doubts. They refuse to even listen to my questions and walked away on my face. Worst ever customer service. Wish I could also give negative rating on google.

Two days in a row trying to get a new battery purchased and installed. Two days in a row only one person working so nobody to cover the store while battery is installed. I was told to blame it on Covid. No that’s bad customer and business practice.

There is levels of low quality workers, but this store is the lowest,, they have these 2 unprofessional girls really trying to fight me for telling them to stop being rude and help me find a bolt , she was in her phone and refused, so I told her if the one I got don’t fit my car I’ll bring it back, she said now I won’t sell it to you if you going to bring it back, another little girl came from the back threatening to call the police for me , they both came out behind the register trying to jump me, I was shocked at first, I just walked out and she still followed me to the parking lot yelling at me from the door, saying im about to get locked up,,,, unbelievable and they have this supposed to be a manager getting back to me, which he did after putting in a complaint, he have the nerve to request evidence from me instead of doing his own investigation and reviewing his store cameras he wents me to do the Job for him..

Useless! The woman was so useless that works at Central Ave store. The reaction to checking my battery in the store was very lazy. The woman was not friendly and sucked, she also told me the alternator does not charge the battery. She was zero help in the store also, rude, this job is not for her, waste of time! On my way home I stopped at Auto Zone on western Ave. HE was so helpful and nice, He took the battery out for me, I left my car there with hood popped, He installed it for me then called to tell me I am all set. Auto Zone is the way to go! A by far friendlier more professional experience

I came to this location in search of a new windshield wiper blade. Upon entering the store I was greeted by an employee and was asked if I needed help finding anything. One of the team members assisted me by searching up what windshield wiper blade I would need for my vehicle and gave me a suggestion as to which I should purchase. As I have had difficulty replacing blades in the past, I took advantage of the store's free installation program. The same employee was able to quickly install it for me. I'm not sure if I could have had a more efficient visit. Thank you!

My most recent visits has been very pleasant. There is a very nice, helpful woman who works there and she goes far and beyond in helping you find the right things for your car. She is upbeat and it rubs off on you. Especially if you having an hard day. I would have given 5 stars, but I am still not over this one time let me say about 3 months or so ago. I went in for a high beam light and received a regular headlight. They people working there that time, were rude and lazy! They have on window will lend tools but refused said they didn't have what I needed. Thank God there was a great couple outside changing their battery, wish the window advertise they do free battery installation. They gave them tools and sent them on their way. So those people helped me And it was freezing that day. That was horrible. How they treated us that day! So hopefully they dont work there anymore and I haven't seen them the last few times I went. So give them a chance. 👍

Today I needed 2 things. A new battery for my car remote and a new wiper. The clerk was slammed and remained calm and was still super helpful. She even cut open the battery case and help me get my battery installed. So my car would stop beeping. Thank you advanced auto for great experience.

Excellent experience today. Rocky was friendly and knowledgeable! He installed the battery I had purchased online yesterday, while I waited. He did the install in 5 minutes in the parking lot while I waited. Couldn't have been happier! Thank you :-)

Nichole T has a horrible additude no greeting stood there for 5 minutes before she spoke and asked what she could help with. Very poor service I was not pleasant about it. No need for her to tell me she was about to flip out. After purchase she told the other guy to get me out of the store. I said what, then she changed it to I said have a nice day. Then when I responded it became an issue with the manager. But he let her speak however.

This place and the people in it suck really bad. 0 stars. Love, the store associate, should be ashamed of herself. Miserable unhelpful person. I realize everyone can have a bad day and sometimes work isn't what you want to be doing, but at least try to put on a smile or show some sort of care or effort. I don't like to call people out, but this was literally the worst customer service I've had in 30 years! I went down to the Deleware ave store and what a difference. Guys were happy, friendly, helpful, greeted me, and offered options. and without me asking, they said the cental ave location had 57 in stock. Thanks for nothing Love. Be better

I was having trouble with my car battery today due to the cold weather, and a friend recommended Advance Auto Parts at 911 Central Ave.in Albany. I explain my situation to Tay, who works behind the counter. She told me that they are first going to test my car battery to see if it's working property. I gave her my cell number and told her to let me know what happenes with the battery. She called me shortly afterwards and said that the battery is fine, and gave me some good advice. She saved me a great deal of trouble, which I'm very thankful for. She also helped me, by putting the key back on the ring for me.

Be Careful Where You Spend Your Money I recently bought a caliper for my Toyota Prius from Advance Auto Parts. They charged me nearly $200 and told me I would get $65 back if I returned the old part. Today, I brought the old caliper back, but the employee said I needed the receipt to get the refund. Unfortunately, I lost it. They have a full inventory and billing system, so they should be able to look up the transaction in their system. But the employee refused to help. Even stores like Walmart offer returns or exchanges without a receipt—they at least try to help the customer. Here, it feels like they just wanted to keep my $65. I don’t recommend shopping here. Next time, I’ll stick to Amazon or other retailers. I won’t be coming back to Advance Auto Parts.
